Chapter 238 - The Defiant Metagross Meets Its Doom!

[Pokémon]: Metagross

[Classification]: Iron Leg Pokémon

[Type]: Steel / Psychic

[Ability]: Clear Body

[Physique]: Shiny

[Potential]: Blue

[Level]: 45

[Moves]: Hammer Arm, Confusion, Metal Claw, Bullet Punch, Take Down, Miracle Eye, Iron Head, Zen Headbutt, Agility, Imprison, Flash Cannon, Meteor Mash, Iron Defense, Focus Punch, Hyper Beam...

That was the complete status readout of this shiny Metagross.

Its temper was explosive, but its blue-rank potential was already on par with the caliber of many champion-level Pokémon.

Ash didn't hesitate—he pulled out a vial of Universal Elixir.

"Groooss!"

Metagross might have been captured already, but its attitude hadn't surrendered.

It locked its cold, glowing eyes on the human trainer standing before it—this very person who had subdued it just moments ago.

And right next to him… was the Lucario that had taken it down.

"Not satisfied? Want another battle?"

"Fine. But first, drink this."

Ash handed over the elixir, and before Metagross could process what was happening, Ash had already forced the contents down its throat.

In an instant, Metagross felt as if fire had ignited inside its body!

All the injuries and fatigue Lucario had inflicted were incinerated—burned away by a tide of life force!

Within moments, a fully revitalized, battle-ready shiny Metagross stood before Ash again.

"Amazing! Ash, it's back on its feet already!" Dawn ran over, hugging her Piplup as she watched in awe.

This elixir worked far better than any Heal Pulse or Healing Wish move out there!

Ash gave a calm nod.

Of course it was effective—this was a Universal Elixir. He'd gotten six from the system, and now only five remained.

Using one to test its effect was worth it. The rest needed to be saved for more critical moments.

But as Dawn approached, she quickly retreated again.

"Dawn, let Ash handle Metagross first. That shiny one seems like it's not entirely convinced yet," Anabel warned.

She had a Metagross herself and was familiar with its temper and even its voice patterns.

This platinum-colored shiny Metagross… was clearly not convinced.

Ash didn't waste words. He simply pulled out two Poké Balls.

Out came Charizard and Tyranitar.

"Rooaaar!"

"Baaaan!"

As soon as Tyranitar entered the field, its Sand Stream ability activated, and a harsh sandstorm swept through the area.

"Come on out too—Floatzel! Monferno!"

"Floatzel!"

"Gaaah!"

Floatzel and Monferno joined the team as well.

"And Pikachu, you too."

"Pika!"

Ash had called out two veteran powerhouses and two rising stars from Sinnoh.

Plus his trusted partner, Pikachu—all standing shoulder to shoulder.

He turned toward Metagross.

"I get it—you're not convinced."

"These are my partners. Pick any one of them. If you manage to defeat even one, I'll let you go free, no questions asked. But if you can't—then stay and train with us. I'll raise you until you're just as powerful as they are."

Shiny Metagross was proud and headstrong. The only way to earn its submission was to show it—without doubt—that it couldn't beat even a single one of Ash's Pokémon.

If after all that, it still refused to obey orders? Ash wasn't going to force it.

He could always find another Metagross. Who said he couldn't raise an obedient one to be even stronger?

Metagross didn't say a word—it just launched itself toward Floatzel!

Meteor Mash!

"Grooooss!"

"Flo!"

Floatzel, having heard Ash's words just now, knew exactly what was expected.

As the gleaming Meteor Mash bore down, Floatzel calmly inhaled.

The flotation sac around its neck suddenly expanded!

Whoosh!

The glimmering stardust of the Meteor Mash was deflected—bounced back like it had hit a rubber wall!

"Floatzel!"

Floatzel stared at Metagross, its expression practically saying, "You're not ready."

"Grooooss!"

Metagross instantly changed targets!

Monferno!

The buoyant defense from Floatzel was unfamiliar—something it hadn't encountered before.

This small fire monkey, though? Surely it couldn't withstand a direct hit!

It charged at Monferno with a lightning-fast Bullet Punch!

Bullet Punch: famed for its explosive speed!

Having been deflected moments ago, Metagross was eager to reassert dominance.

But Monferno was more than ready.

It dashed forward, countering with Mach Punch!

A perfect clash—two high-speed moves designed to strike before the other!

But—no clash occurred.

Monferno's Mach Punch struck first, landing a clean hit!

Metagross's Bullet Punch? It didn't even connect.

Because it couldn't reach…

"Gaaaah!"

Mach Punch, a Fighting-type move, was super effective against Metagross. That punch sent the shiny beast flying!

Boom!

First deflected by Floatzel.

Then launched by the Monferno.

Metagross had enough—it instantly targeted its next opponent.

Tyranitar.

It barely righted itself midair before unleashing a devastating Hyper Beam!

A powerful move—normal-typed, but boasting raw destructive force!

"Baaaaan."

Tyranitar didn't even flinch. It let the Hyper Beam slam into its armored body.

Then, it lazily raised its dark green, plated arm—and brushed the energy aside.

An explosion erupted. A mushroom cloud rose where Tyranitar stood.

Floatzel and Monferno looked over in unison, sympathy written across their faces.

Poor guy... It had messed with the wrong mon.

Getting on Tyranitar's bad side meant "special treatment" during training from now on.

This shiny Metagross was in for a rough ride…

As the smoke cleared, Metagross stared ahead—stunned.

Tyranitar stood tall, completely unharmed.

Its monstrous golden eyes locked with Metagross's.

Both were Pseudo-legendaries. But this Tyranitar was already level 79—at its absolute peak.

In that instant, Metagross felt it.

A crushing, mountain-flattening pressure crashed down on it like a tsunami!

Then came the follow-up—Tyranitar's armored tail, falling from above like a guillotine—

Smash!
