….

Su Xiao read through the details carefully, committing them to memory.

His current level is LV.1, which governs his authority within Reincarnation Paradise.

However, the One Piece world he's entered is LV.6 in difficulty, making his situation extremely dangerous.

Normally, the system doesn't send contractees to worlds more than five levels above their current level. This exception is because of his identity as a Hunter.

Su Xiao doesn't yet know what advantages being a Hunter brings, but the disadvantages are clear—danger.

He's in an LV.6 world, assigned an LV.3 mission, while only being LV.1 himself. This game is starting to feel rigged.

According to Paradise's description, in future worlds, he'll be tasked with hunting down "abnormal" contractees.

This essentially means he'll be an enemy to most other players from the start. Even if Su Xiao wanted to cooperate, others likely wouldn't.

If his identity is revealed, he'll be targeted by everyone.

As for the so-called protective measures mentioned above—Su Xiao doesn't even fully trust Paradise, let alone its promises of safety.

But it's not all bad news—his attributes are above average for a normal person, thanks to his intense physical training.

In the One Piece world, that might not mean much, but it gives him a head start.

More importantly, Su Xiao knows how to fight—and he's willing to fight.

He doesn't have genius-level intellect, but he has the courage to risk injury and death.

It's not that he doesn't fear danger, but compared to ordinary people, he dares to face it.

This courage is his greatest asset in Reincarnation Paradise.

Sometimes, a brave heart matters more than a strong body.

….

"Now then… let's see how dangerous this pirate world really is."

Su Xiao sprinted forward, jumped onto the window ledge, and grabbed the roof's edge. With a powerful pull, he hoisted his upper body through a hole in the ceiling.

Just as he was about to observe the outside world, a sharp sound rang out—

"Bang!"

It was a gunshot, muffled but distinct. Su Xiao immediately recognized it.

He retracted his body quickly and gripped the wall ledge tightly. Slowly, he peeked outside again.

"Bang! Bang! Bang!"

Gunshots continued in bursts—it was a full-blown gunfight.

Two factions were battling in the Gray Terminal, each with dozens of people.

From their ragged clothes and thin faces, Su Xiao could tell they were all scavenger refugees.

"Toby, this is our territory. What are you doing?! We're all just poor scavengers. Are you really trying to wipe us out?"

The shooting paused briefly as they started shouting.

"Your territory? I've got over ten guns now. I call the shots here. Once I save enough Berries, I'm going out to sea—I'll be a pirate! Roger, drop your weapons and join me. I'll give you—"

Bang!

Before Toby could finish, he was interrupted by another gunshot.

Su Xiao saw Toby—a burly man with a beard—laughing viciously from behind some trash.

Clearly, he never intended to accept the surrender. He wanted to kill them all.

Compared to the starving scavengers, Toby was tall and muscular, built like a brute.

Su Xiao sighed—he now fully understood how dangerous a LV.6 world was.

If he had gone out carelessly earlier, he'd have been turned into Swiss cheese.

And this was just the beginning—worse dangers lay ahead.

As Su Xiao waited for the battle to subside, a figure suddenly leapt in through the roof and into the room.

"Phew… That was close. Finally, a safe—"

The figure froze mid-sentence after spotting Su Xiao clinging to the wall.

"Uh…"

Before the person could react, Su Xiao dropped down.

He crouched low, pushed off the ground, and lunged like a leopard.

The person tried to speak, but it was too late.

Su Xiao struck first—his fist sank into the person's abdomen, making them double over in pain.

They tried to scream, but Su Xiao clamped his hand over their mouth and nose, muffling the cry.

And he wasn't done—his other hand chopped straight into their chest like a blade.

Thud. A deep impact echoed from the strike.

The person went limp, collapsing with a terrified look in their eyes.

"A woman?"

Su Xiao only acted because he couldn't tell if the person was friend or foe.

Better to neutralize them first.

"P-please… don't hurt me…"

A faint voice whispered.

Su Xiao looked the girl over.

Her black hair was messy, face covered in grime, but underneath the dirt, her cheeks were pale and smooth. Her oversized clothes made her look frail and young—maybe 15 or 16 years old.

"Who are you?"

Su Xiao figured she was likely just seeking shelter.

"My name is Mia. I swear I mean no harm. Please don't hurt me…"

Her voice was barely audible.

Despite the heavy blow, Mia hadn't passed out—surprisingly strong for someone her age. But she was too weak to move.

"Don't make a sound. Or I'll kill you."

Su Xiao wasn't bluffing. He had a bloody vendetta to settle and wouldn't hesitate to kill.

Gulp.

Mia swallowed hard.

"Okay… I just needed shelter. I won't make a sound…"

She suddenly felt that staying with this man might be no safer than the outside.

….

The gunfire outside gradually died down—the skirmish was almost over.

Su Xiao waited. As soon as it ended, he'd head out.

It was dangerous, yes, but also an opportunity—he needed a weapon.

He started this world with nothing. Not even a stick.
