Shin and Lilia approached the castle's gate. The old metal thing had rusted and cracked hundreds of years ago, and is now covered in ice and claw marks left by the thousands of monsters that crawled out of the portcullis.
The shadows inside the castle's garden twisted as the cold wind played with the trees' branches, creating a melodic rustle like a wailing wraith.
Shin looked at the ground and inspected the thousands of tracks and frowned, some were small, and some were left by titanic creatures that must've towered over fifty yards into the sky.
"Let's hope nothing is inside." He looked at the main keep and then at the smaller keeps surrounding it. All of them looked empty now, but Shin was sure that at least some monsters remained to make this place their home.
Lilia smiled and pointed at one of the small keeps. "I smell a bath." Her eyes sparked.
