Chapter 62 - Chapter 62. ‘His’ power?

Eras's body hurled back all the through the town, crashing into woods and bricks. His body stops upon crashing into the impregnable fleshy walls.

"Heh- I guess my contract is over. Tch, look like I need to find some more souls, well pile them up just in case."

He brushed away all the debris that was resting on his lap, standing up, he gazed over at the outskirts of the town to stares at Yuriel and Kim but they were too far away for him to see them. Cleaning all the dust and blood off his clothes yet it was hopeless, the blood stain remains there.

Eras sighed once more before fixated upward, there he mutters something under his breath and smile, the blood stain from his clothes starts to perished.

The clean tuxedo hovers in the air before entering complete darkness.

. . .

"Did we do it?"

Yuriel asks but Kim idly stand there as he looks off in the distance, Yuriel called out Kim's name, no response.

"Kim?" She taps his shoulder which got his attention.

"Huh?"

"You were spacing out, are you okay?"

Kim give a sudden nods before telling Yuriel to run. When she tried to, she felt a sharp pain near her liver.

"I think the wounds have reopened."

She says while chuckling to herself. Kim put her arm over his shoulder and continued forward.

"We have to run and fast, we don't know how long we'll have till 'he's' back."

"What's the hurry Kim, you been acting weird lately, well recently ever since he shows up."

Kim shuddered, he continued to walk in silence.

"No answer huh?"

"I don't know."

Kim said under his breath, his voice were trembling.

"I have a bad feeling about that man, I have only ever met one other 'Sins' but for some reason, something inside me is telling me to get away from him."

Yuriel simply stare at Kim, a silent stare, she gazes ahead as they continue to walk toward Mary and Daima.

"What's taking them so long mother?"

Mary hushed Daima as she looked out over the area, it was dark but she could see something walking towards her, a figure of some sort.

Mary held onto Daima tightly, preparing to take off if she needed to. But then she heard a familiar voice.

"Mary! We're here!"

It was Yuriel, her arm's wrap around Kim.

"Yuriel? How did you guys even fend him off?"

Yuriel's point at both her and Kim before smiling.

"We hit him!"

She giggled before adding:

"Though we better leave fast, I don't think it'll be good if he find us. Do you know a way out?"

Mary motion her head in a way she do have a way out but sorrow filled her expression as she stood up, her face somewhat pale before telling Kim and Yuriel to follow her as she grabs tightly onto Daima hand.

"So what do you think his power is?"

Kim looked at Yuriel who is asking him the question, his expression remained blank.

"I felt no mana or any form of magics from him."

She added. Kim thought for a moment, his eyebrows raising as he mumble loudly to himself.

"I would say it's wind magic but it's different from how Vas used it, though I can't be sure but the way he can easily takes people souls or grabs the air is something more than that."

He puts his right hand under his chins before lifting his head toward Yuriel.

"Yea, I don't know."

He says as he traces his eyes at Yuriel who were frantically looking at him. He shrugs and asks if she knows what his power is since she goes toes to toes with him.

"It got something to do with force, I don't think it's air or wind magics because that's far too basic from what he was using."

"Force?"

Kim repeated. Yuriel nods her head before continuing.

"When I felt his attack grazing me, it felt like gravity were crushing me, it felt like he have disrupted the surrounding air and ripped a piece off from it and's used it to his advantage."

Kim focused his attention on what Yuriel is saying, his minds clutter in with thought of what Eras power was.

"That's somewhat do make a bit of sense, how did he get from point a to point b so quickly? It have to do with disrupting the force…"

Then one words came into his mind, well actually a couple did but nevermind that. A couples of words came into his mind. He glimpse over at Yuriel's face before speaking.

"I think it got something to do with the natural laws or concepts of his surroundings."

Kim said which shocked Yuriel.

"Why do you say that?"

She asks, Kim put his right hand in front of him.

"Think of it like this, when he catch up to us it look as if he was teleporting, but because of the distortion it only looked that way, he was actually… erm maybe he probably was teleporting."

Yuriel gives Kim the side eye, a sense of weird looks with a tiny bits of doubts but Kim continues.

"Nevermind that, he has done something that allow him to mess with the laws because he have distorted himself out of concepts itself before adding himself back in, this could also explain how he couldn't be hit because he could only focus on one target."

Yuriel nodded alongside his words, she glanced at the ground for second, every steps they takes echoes out mushy squishing sound. She looked up at Kim and ask.

"How sure are you?"

Kim shrugged.

"I don't even know but that's what I could only think up of."

"I see…"

Kim sighed and fixed his stare at Yuriel's wound. His expression is full of worry and concern.

"Your wound, it's open again huh? And we can't wrap you up because someone is chasing us…"

Yuriel locked eyes with Kim, after a second of silence she giggled a bit.

"Yeah, Im surprised it didn't fully reopened, though ai think I have to rest a bit before doing anything rash."

Kim nods as he look forward, staring at Daima and Mary that is ahead of them. The four walked in complete darkness as Mary guide them.

"Where are we going?"

Yuriel asked as she limped over to Kim with her arm over his shoulder. Mary's stares at her quietly before answering.

"A new town… then we'll go to the 'red hand'."

A bit of hesitation could be heard as she speak. Kim quietly nodded with a scrutinized gaze.

"A new town..? Like another demon town, I though this place is… i don't know, somewhat of a wasteland,"

She stops speaking before lowering her stares toward the ground.

"Also what is this 'red hand' is it like the flesh of wall we're standing on right now?"

She said softly as she lifted her head up to stares at Mary once again.

"I'm going to be honest, I don't really know what this 'red hand' is… my husband, once told me story's about it, how it let demons able to go to the overworld."

"And where exactly is the 'red hand' located at?"

Kim asks as he joined in on the conversation, before Mary could answer him, he added more questions.

"Also if this 'red hand' is a way out of this place, why haven't you husband take you guys there?"

Mary stares at Kim, unsure how she could answer him. Fixated on the ground for a moment, she turns her gaze on Kim before she shakes her head.

"I don't know but today's the day where… I or rather we, find it."

"I see, and this new town? Another demon's town, why haven't we heard of this before?"

Mary think for a second, she wags her pointy finger across her face back and forth before responding.

"I mean a lot did happen even if I were to tell you, it'll be better if I show it to you."

"Show it? Have you seen the town before?"

Kim asked with curiosity, a bit of skepticism as what she said. Mary taps her lips for a while before responding.

"Well no but…"

She sighed, thinking up of what she should say.

"Hearing it from my husband, I have this feeling to believe him."

"Your husband huh?"

Mary's nods which led the conversation to died down, they do not discuss the matter further.
