At 500 years of awakening, the world came to its senses. Humanity and beasts stabilized to some degree, establishing three distinct types of settlements that would define the world's new power structure and enable meaningful development.
The Three Settlement Types
**Independent Gateway Land Settlements (IGLS)** were territories like Ar Land, characterized by Gateways that natives could use and that couldn't be hijacked, even if they lacked Ascendants among their ranks.
**Beast Hoard Settlements (BHS)** were places ruled by beasts, where humans served as either servants or lived under the protection and mercy of their beast overlords.
