"He'll be here soon… a test…" Tony replayed the message Alan had sent over for Natasha to hear again.
Natasha remained silent for a moment before asking, "Tony, do you think we should reinforce the base's security? Just in case this newcomer manages to get in too easily."
"No need," Tony shrugged with a light chuckle. "Our base security is already top-tier."
"Besides, if he can actually manage to get something out, we might as well skip the rest of the newbie training."
Tony didn't believe that a recently released ex-con like Scott Lang had what it took to sneak into the Avengers' base and successfully steal something.
"Don't be so sure," Natasha continued scanning Scott's profile, growing more intrigued by the minute. "Did Alan mention what he's supposed to steal?"
Tony shook his head. "No specifics. But don't worry, whatever it is, it won't be easy to get."

Meanwhile, Scott stood on top of a drone, fully suited up in the Ant-Man suit and shrunken down to the size of an ant.
The howling wind made his hair stand on end, and he couldn't help but complain through the comms, "Dr. Pym, any chance we could add some fur or insulation to this suit when I get back?"
Shivering and crossing his arms, Scott had never realized just how cold the air could be at this size—despite it still being summer.
"Man, it's freezing!"
Listening to the exchange, Alan shook his head with a chuckle. In the Marvel universe, Scott Lang was undoubtedly one of the most talkative characters.
Hope rolled her eyes in exasperation. "Focus, Scott. Stop fooling around. You're already above the warehouse—prepare to descend."
Both Wanda and Gwen knew that if Alan wanted to, he could have retrieved the signal device himself long ago. There was no real need for Scott to go in.
But this was all part of Alan's plan. The two of them simply sat back and watched.
Scott, realizing it was time to get serious, dropped his playful attitude. He gave orders to his insect squad, watching as they leaped off the drone one by one, spreading their wings as they dove.
When the last group of insects jumped, Scott clutched the handles on Ant-thony's back, making sure he wouldn't lose his balance and fall.
The ground was still far below. If he slipped now, there was no doubt—he'd be dead.
"Ant-thony, I'm holding on. Let's go!" Scott reassured himself that this time, Ant-thony wouldn't throw him off mid-air.
---
As he descended through the thick clouds, Scott struggled to get a clear view of the buildings below. But as the ground came into focus, his eyes widened in shock.
"Hey, Dr. Pym, didn't you say this was an abandoned warehouse?" Scott called out through the comms. "Because it sure doesn't look like one!"
His vision became sharper. Looking left and right, nothing about the place resembled an old, rundown warehouse.
"Shit! Dr. Pym! Alan! The plan is completely screwed—this is the Avengers' base!"
Scott's panicked voice blasted through the comms. In an instant, Hank Pym and Hope shot up from their seats.
They had overlooked a critical detail. No one had actually checked whether the old warehouse was still abandoned.
And now, it had somehow turned into the Avengers' headquarters.
Hank Pym wasted no time. "Scott, abort mission and return immediately! If the Avengers catch you, your chances of joining them in the future will be next to zero!"
Alan, watching from the side, caught Hank Pym's worried expression. He seemed genuinely concerned about whether Scott would ever get the chance to join the Avengers.
Unfortunately for him…
No matter how much the story deviated, Scott's determination wasn't something that could be changed so easily.
