Chapter 399 - Chapter 400: Tony’s Admiration

Watching the surveillance footage, Tony and Natasha couldn't help but admire Scott.

How did he pull that off?

"Sam?" Tony called through the communicator, trying to understand what was going on. Why was Sam flying so erratically in the sky? That was dangerous.

"Sir, something is inside my flight system! It's probably him! I can't control it!" Sam immediately reported back.

He desperately tried to grab Scott out of his gear, but his hands were too big to reach inside.

Sam kept twisting and turning mid-air, grabbing at his chest one moment and reaching for his back the next—all while trying not to crash.

Inside the flight mechanism, Scott muttered apologies as he manually dismantled some of its internal components.

If he didn't cause some kind of disruption, even if he got his hands on the signal-luring prototype, he'd be captured before he could escape.

As soon as he removed what looked like a small chip, he heard Sam yell out.

The next moment, the sudden loss of control sent Sam plummeting toward the ground.

Scott quickly grabbed onto a cable inside the suit to avoid hitting his head.

As expected, Sam crashed hard, sliding across the dirt, kicking up a cloud of dust before finally coming to a stop after several meters.

Gasping for breath, Sam pushed himself up and tried to use his infrared vision goggles to locate the intruder—but the screen was nothing but static.

"Shit…" Sam sighed in frustration, yanking off his goggles. "Sir, we cannot let Cap find out about this. It's too embarrassing."

As an Avenger, getting completely outmaneuvered by some unknown guy was humiliating.

"It's fine, don't dwell on it. Just bring your flight system and goggles back—I'll fix them for you."

Tony and Natasha exchanged glances.

When a dejected Sam finally walked into the room, he placed his damaged flight system and infrared goggles on Tony's desk.

With a helpless expression, he pleaded, "Tony, Natasha, you guys _have_ to keep this a secret for me. Whatever you want to eat, it's on me."

Hearing this, Natasha couldn't help but burst into laughter. "Tony's a billionaire, and you're offering to buy him food? Is that a bribe or an insult?"

Tony chuckled as well, spinning in his chair before stopping right in front of Sam.

"Sam, go check the warehouse—see if anything's missing."

He wanted to confirm whether this self-proclaimed Ant-Man had actually passed their new recruit test.

Sam suddenly remembered that the intruder had mentioned taking something high-tech but promised to return it after a few days.

Realizing this, he quickly turned and hurried toward the warehouse. It was better to check for himself.

"Where did the Emperor even find a weirdo like that?" Natasha mused. She didn't hold back her words—after all, nobody in this base could be considered "normal," including herself.

"Who knows?" Tony smirked. "But if the Emperor introduced him, I'd say he's got some skills."

He glanced at the broken gear Sam had left on the table.

Sometimes, strategy was far more effective than brute force.

Meanwhile, Sam stood before the warehouse door that he had slammed into and broken earlier.

It looked like he'd have to pay for the repairs himself—after all, he was the one who wrecked it.

With a sigh, he stepped inside to check the inventory.
