Hakuto took a deep breath, dragging his blood-soaked body to the entrance of the base's control room.
Behind him, countless droplets of blood hung suspended in the air, along with the dismembered remains of numerous bodies.
In his heightened computational state, Hakuto felt little emotional turmoil about taking lives—at least, not as much as he had at the start.
He didn't want things to spiral out of his control. If he deactivated his heightened computation mode, he didn't want anyone firing at him again.
This was the best way he could think of to protect himself. Right now, he had no control over his ability; he could only operate at full power.
Even the slightest touch was lethal—whoever he encountered, died.
"Don't blame me... someone is waiting for me to return..." Hakuto shook his head. In the next instant, the control room's heavy door was violently blown open!
Countless surveillance monitors filled his vision, though his computational feedback had already informed him that the room was filled with cameras.
Besides the cameras, the room was occupied by numerous researchers in white lab coats and several fully armed soldiers.
Their attention was fixed on one of the surveillance screens, which displayed footage of the very room Hakuto had just been in.
He even saw himself on the screen—kneeling on the floor, vomiting, as a torrent of bullets rained down upon him.
But it seemed that even the most advanced surveillance cameras couldn't keep up with his speed.
Looking at the researchers, a trace of disgust flashed across Hakuto's face.
Without hesitation, he took all their ID cards. Moments later, the control room was as blood-soaked as the rest of the facility.
"That should be... all of them..."
Exhaustion weighed on him. His head throbbed painfully.
He scanned the entire base once more using his computational ability. Only after confirming there were no remaining threats did he finally deactivate it.
From his perspective, his computational mode had lasted for nearly two days—two days without a single moment of rest!
"Hah—"
Hakuto collapsed onto the floor, utterly drained, allowing the pool of blood around him to slowly swallow half his body.
Perhaps because his heightened state had ended, he felt a wave of nausea upon seeing the scattered body parts around him.
But this time, he didn't throw up…
He had slaughtered his way through the entire base. Nearly every researcher and soldier had been wiped out.
He hadn't wanted to do this. He didn't enjoy killing. But his computational ability had determined this was the most effective solution—without exception.
And so, with cold indifference, Hakuto had massacred every soldier and researcher in the facility…
Even those stationed outside weren't spared.
"I don't even know if I can still compete in the Shogi Tournament like this..."
Hakuto staggered to his feet, using the ID cards he had just collected to gain control over the main system.
Just as he was about to unlock all the doors, his gaze landed on a folder—its cover stained red with blood.
Picking it up, he slowly opened it.
"Information on other ability users..."
"Possession... Phasing... Hypnosis..." Hakuto scanned the files. "Memory Leap..."
His pupils contracted.
Letting out a sigh, he muttered, "Charlotte, huh..."
As a transmigrator, he naturally recognized the anime Charlotte.
He never expected that after living in this world for over ten years, he would finally witness this side of it.
No wonder he didn't have any abilities when he first arrived—it must have been due to puberty.
But for his ability to be this powerful… Perhaps that was also because he was a transmigrator.
Hakuto pushed the thought aside. Right now, he had more important things to do.
He unlocked every door in the facility.
His next step was to meet Otosaka Shunsuke and Otosaka Yuu before heading home to see his girlfriend.
"I probably won't make it to the tournament... I hope Ginko doesn't blame me..."
Letting out a weary sigh, he felt utterly exhausted—so much so that even his vision was beginning to blur.
Meanwhile, as the doors opened, the ability users inside hesitated briefly before stepping out.
"What's going on…?"
"The stench of blood is overwhelming… Do you smell it?"
The living quarters for ordinary ability users weren't guarded by soldiers. They could smell the blood but had no idea what had happened.
However, those with stronger abilities were different. Due to the nature of their powers, their rooms were guarded.
Now, as they stepped out, they were met with a floor littered with corpses and drenched in blood!
"W-what happened…?"
"I just turned my head and saw blood falling mid-air, like it all happened in an instant…"
"Kumaori… can you guess who did this? Or were there any new ability users brought to the base recently?"
"Yesterday, They brought in a computational ability user…"
"If our doors have been unlocked… then Shunsuke's must be too."
"This isn't the time to be thinking about that. Let's find Shunsuke first…!"
Perhaps because he had only just deactivated his computational mode, Hakuto still retained some of its effects.
While the world around him appeared to have returned to normal speed, he could still feel his enhanced physical abilities.
He could now tear through alloy walls with sheer brute force, and every movement within the base was imprinted in his mind.
So he was well aware of the other ability users' reactions—but he didn't care. Right now, his only concern was meeting Otosaka Shunsuke.
Following the feedback from his mind, Hakuto arrived at the room where Otosaka Shunsuke was being held.
Shunsuke was completely bound to a metal bed, unable to move even an inch.
Most notably, a thick blindfold covered his eyes.
Memory Leap required the user to see light in order to activate. Hakuto had no idea how someone with such a broken ability had been captured.
"Who's there?!"
"Why does it reek of blood out there?!"
Otosaka Shunsuke struggled desperately. "Damn it! If only I could see some light!"
Watching his frantic struggles, Hakuto spoke calmly, "If you promise not to use your ability, I'll remove your blindfold…"
