He had previously confronted Elder Shi Pi, engaging in a debate over Buddhist scriptures and Daoist techniques. Elder Shi Pi captured him and tortured him with various Demon Path Techniques, forcing the old monk to concede defeat.
The old monk did not resist; he allowed the magic to torture him and continuously chanted Buddhist scriptures day and night. His voice, penetrating powerfully, could not be sealed by Elder Shi Pi's Demon Path Forbidden Technique. No matter where he was, the sound of the Buddhist scriptures directly entered the ears and hearts of others, annoying Elder Shi Pi immensely.
