Everyone was speaking at the same time, trying to figure out what Catherine was really talking about.
Alexei took advantage of the fixation on Catherine, and slipped out of their midst.
He didn't know anywhere in Kolasi. It was his first time there after all. What he did know was that he had a perfectly good nose.
His nose could trace a scent to hell and back. And so he followed Nadia's scent he had registered in his brain.
It led him past two turns, and finally, settled in front of a door.
Taking a deep breath, he knocked on the door.
It took a third knock for the door to finally open.
"Can't you all take a hi—" Nadia's words trailed when her eyes stumbled on Alexei standing in front of her door.
She quickly moved to bang the door shut in his face, but he intercepted swiftly, having read her mind already.
Alexei pushed his way into the room, causing Nadia to move back.
"What are you doing? Why are you here?" She asked, her voice shaky and unsteady.
