Lily was feeling itchy on her chest. She was wearing a cloth that covered her neck, so no one noticed the snake tattoo hidden there. It had appeared to be sleeping peacefully—until suddenly, its bloodshot eyes opened. The moment they did, Lily's eyes turned crimson as well, and she grabbed Lu Chen by the neck.
Lu Chen was stunned. "What… what are you doing?" he stammered, fear visible on his face.
"Isn't it obvious? I'm thanking you, of course," she replied coldly.
She threw him against the wall with one hand, causing him to hit his head and lose consciousness instantly.
Lily's eyes returned to their usual blue, and she stared at the unconscious Lu Chen with a dumbfounded expression. Though she was shocked, she didn't dwell on it and simply grabbed her bag.
"This is just the beginning," she murmured and left.
