"Haa... haa... haa... haa..."Xavier panted heavily, his breath shallow and ragged, lungs straining to pull in air. Sweat dripped from his forehead and mixed with the blood staining his face. His body trembled—not from fear, but from sheer exertion.
"Haa... thank... god... there's no... PETA... in this godforsaken place... haa..." he muttered with a grim chuckle, barely able to stand.
"Ugh... I gotta... get up..." he grunted, planting one knee into the blood-soaked soil. "Guh..."
With a wince, Xavier rose shakily to his feet, steadying himself by bracing against his knees. His gaze slowly turned toward the colossal corpse sprawled before him.
"Time for me to claim my spoils."
Still panting, he dragged his injured left leg through the mud and gore, making his way toward the fallen beast.
