The two spoke in unison, and Lewis turned to look at Kiera.
Kiera said lightly, "The brake pads on the car wheels were tampered with."
Lewis then added, "The culprit seemed worried the brakes wouldn't fail, so they also tampered with the brake pedal of the car."
The two reached an agreement instantly: "This car accident wasn't an accident."
Kiera frowned, "But if this was a setup, is it someone targeting the Cobb family? Did the South Family predict it, or are they just protecting their prophecy?"
Lewis responded calmly, "At the moment, it's not clear. This matter will need the Cobb family's own investigation."
Kiera frowned again, "Forget it. Either way, we confirmed one thing today."
Lewis nodded, "Yes, the South Family's prophecies do have some credibility. Whether it's manipulation or something metaphysical, whatever they predict seems to happen."
Kiera: "I'm hungry."
