Chapter 36 - Chapter 35: Chaos Heart(2)

The news of the death of the Bright Lord quickly spread.

It was chaotic.

The end of the Bright Lord was too shocking, some believed it was Nephis who had killed her and some thought it was Seishan.

But none of them knew who it was, except the few.

Silence.

The whole room was silent, every member of the cohort was silent.

Each one of them looked at Nephis, Sunny was one of them too.

His conversation with Wren had made him raise his guard, to the point where he believed that he was in a lawless place like the outskirts.

He didn't believed anyone right now.

"What you will do now?" Sunny asked Nephis.

Nephis was silent, but then she spoke.

"We will follow the plan like usual." She said.

Sunny smirked.

'Your plan? Hmm... yeah it is your plan.'

Effie looked at Nephis.

"Hey Princess, what do you think to do about that guy? Honestly, I don't want to fight that monster." Effie had few beads of sweat on her face, as she spoke about Wren.

His recent commotion was a hot topic right now, and it needed to be taken care of.

The others and especially one of them was looking forward to her answer.

She was a beauty, smooth milky-pale skin, rosy lips and sharp eyes, wearing a regal dress of red wine colour.

Her appearance was exotic and slight inhuman, which put both longing and fear in a person's heart.

She was none other than.. Seishan of the Clan Song.

The leader of Handmaidens that was left alive including the members of her legion.

She was looking forward to what Changing Star had decided, against the Heir of Abyss from the Clan Valor.

If things played at her favour, one of the two of her clan's enemy will die or maybe both of them will.

Time will tell.

"Since he has no intention to form an alliance with me, I have no intention to disturb him either not until he does anything against me." Nephis replied.

Although Nephis sounded neutral, her real intentions was hidden in it, there was no way she could leave Wren alive, not after he was after her blood.

'You need more practice... though, it is enough to deceive others except me.' Sunny thought.

With the matter regarding Wren was temporarily closed, and the meeting proceed further with the other matters.

***

Selina and Wren were sitting beside each other.

"Not going to ask anything?" Wren asked her.

Selina just stared at the surroundings of the ruined cathedral.

She tilted her head and rested on his shoulder.

From her touch, Wren shuddered slightly, making her smile.

"You killed Harus, didn't you?" That was her only question.

Wren sighed.

"Yeah, he is alive. Though... I don't know where he is." He replied, ignoring the touch of her head on his shoulder.

It didn't mattered to him that much.

He was used to it actually.

Selina raised her head, and looked at him.

Her vibrant violet eyes met his grey ones, that seemed to be dull but gravitating, making her a little lost in them.

Realizing that she was staring to deeply, Selina shook her head.

Few strands of her hair hit Wren at his face, making him a little annoyed.

Stopping, she looked at him.

"Did you check the runes?" She asked.

Wren rested his head on the wall, and smiled.

"Yes. The Chaos Heart, it is quite an interesting name." He replied.

Selina tilted her head, and smiled slightly.

"Hmm...are you thinking about something else?"

Wren gaze turned to her, and then returned to aimless staring.

"You are right."

His short answer sparked the interest in Selina eyes.

"And what is it?" She asked.

Wren covered his face with his hand, and grinned.

The grin was that of a demonic being—vile and odious.

Anyone would be scared of it, however in case of Selina, she was...

Absolutely mad.

Her hand twitched violently, and before she knew...

She had already slapped Wren at the back of his head.

Since this slap was a result from a reflex action, Selina's strength was uncontrolled and therefore...

Wren was sent few meters rolling.

His body crashed at one of the pillars of the ruined cathedral.

Wren let out a groan.

"Ah fuck... that hurts." His voice sounded hurt.

He stood up, massaging his head with both of his hands. Wren snapped his eyes at the confused figure of Selina.

It looked she herself was confused from what had happened.

Then, suddenly she smirked out of satisfaction.

'Wow...No wonder that thing feared this attack.' She thought.

Selina started to believe that a good smack on the head would put a mad bitch like Wren in their place.

She looked at Wren, his expression was clearly visible—annoyed, that was how he looked like, though he looked funny for some reason.

He looked liked a child, who was being scolded for no reason.

Selina stuck her tongue out, annoying him even more.

Veins popped on his forehead, but he had to control...

Killing her was useless, and killing himself, although seemed better but was a big no.

All he could do was control himself.

***

Wren was happy.

He was smiling brimming full of joy and satisfaction.

Selina however wasn't following his expression, her condition was far worse.

Lying on the ground, and drenched with sweat, she was exhausted from the rigorous combat training with Wren.

This was his method of taking revenge.

Wren walked towards her, and sat beside.

He then summoned a memory, it was a leather pouch, putting his hand inside of it, he took a glass bottle filled with water.

"Here, have this." He said, as he pushed the bottle in Selina's hand.

Without saying anything, Selina opened the bottle's seal and started to gulp down the cold water in it.

As she finished the bottle, Wren thought whether it was a good thing to tell her about the mind tricks he had played with Sunny.

'I think I should.' He thought.

Wren opened his mouth.

"You wanted to know what I did right? Well morally, it is no good thing to do but I don't care... all I did was exploit Sunny's only weakness, his true name, manipulating him a little though I know he wasn't affected by much."

Wren took a pause and then continued.

"In conclusion, I am not the only one after Nephis's blood." He ended his words with a slight smirk.

Selina eye's widened slightly, but it was expected from someone like Wren.

It was expected from a mad genius.

Although... Selina wondered that should she smack him in the back of his head again or not.

No one knew what was going in her mind except few...

***

In a vast place, where the concepts of destruction and creation originated from, there was a single vast palace floating.

Even when the surroundings were completely filled with darkness no...it was nothingness, the pitch-black palace stood menacingly.

Inside the palace, it was divided into various rooms and chambers, and a single hall in which a dining table for three was set up.

Sitting on two of the three chairs were a man and a woman.

The two of them were having a delightful drink, the woman sipped the wine and smile slightly.

"You have sensed it, didn't you dear?" The unknown woman asked.

Her soft light blonde hair, flowed down like a curtain, she had very beautiful face possessing refined and noble look.

The golden eyes of her, shone with brilliance, making her even more stunning and beautiful.

She was wearing a regal black dress, which was draped over by an ethereal veil of night sky, only this time her face was not being covered.

The woman was none other than the First Apostle.

And in front of her was none other than the ruler of the lawless void, the Abyss God.

Thinking of a void creature one would imagine a harrowing creature with tentacles or something more eldritch and vile however, the man sitting in front of the first apostle was...

Handsome.

The Abyss God grinned.

"Of course I did. It was quite interesting though, seeing him get beaten by her, in the same manner I get some times by you." His voice was deep and attracting.

His wife laughed melodiously.

"I know, that slap was the best weapon for Selina to scold Wren."

Her words sound sweet like nectar, making him smile slightly.

She looked at him, and smiled again.

"You are thinking about the old times aren't you?" She asked.

Her husband gaze looked affectionate and dreamy.

"Yeah I do...those memories still lingers in my heart. Me, you, A......"

His words couldn't be heard anymore. as he himself was distorting them to prevent from someone hearing it.

The whole place was suddenly covered in darkness, and then few words started to form in that very darkness.

"Bye Bye."
