Chapter 9 - [9]

"We would love to view the precious items you have in your collection, even if we are unworthy mighty dragon." I interject for Khaleesi as she lands on my shoulder exhausted from her physical exertion.

The dragon says his pride in his horde was tantamount in his voice as he moves his gargantuan body aside to reveal his riches stacked up behind him.

"Whoa, this is amazing…noble dragons really are on another level!" Khaleesi gasps and I can tell that she is going out of her mind with excitement, and starts floating about in front of the glimmering mountain of gold and silver.

Upon seeing her reaction, the dragon's mood seems to improve as well.

As for me...I spotted my radio which looks pretty conspicuous-looking amongst all of the gold, silver, gewls and weapons of various assortments…especially being a baby blue box like shape with silver highlights amongst the mountain of treasure making me grimace on the inside.

the dragon asks, seemingly picking up on my feelings.

"A-ah, it's nothing…ahem…well…that's not completely true…ahem...that blue box with silver accents...that used to be a part of my collection…looks so much more at home here amongst your's."

The dragon says dreamily while caressing the radio with his tail.

"Yes, yes it is...'

The once commanding and intimidating voice of the dragon that echoed in my head is long gone, replaced with that of a cutesy tone reminiscent of a child holding its most loved and new action figure in its hands.

The dragon purrs as he deftly uses his claws to highlight the areas of importance to him.

'Haa, I've had that radio since I was 7 years old.' I sigh in my head.

'That's just a radio you daft fucking dragon otaku, durable, yet smooth craftsmanship, it's just fucking plastic with shiny fucking plastic and those compartments are for playing caset tapes and cd, you fucking INCEL!' I express in my mind and somehow manage to keep myself from crying out in frustration as I watch the dragon blissfully caresse the plastic radio with his claws.

"What's wrong my bonded, Do you know something of importance about this treasure?" Khaleesi asks me seriously.

"Y-yes…I was being cautious of how to broach the subject though at seeing how much this great and mighty dragon loves the treasure so much…" I say, while trying to put my confused brain back in order.

the dragon asks me in concern.

"Well, you see…I know all about this particular device…and how it is powered." I breathe out confidently.

"Yes…In fact, unless something is done soon... this device that people call a battery powered radio in my world will cease to function…because the batteries inside will run out of power."

For the first time since I have laid eyes on him, the dragon develops a flustered…even fearful expression…

The dragon asks in a pained tone.

'Aww…this guy's kinda cute…" I say aww in my mind.

"Yes...the devices that power it are called D-batteries, which are a special source of energy…and are very expensive due to their rarity…" I explain to the dragon evenly...while cracking up on the inside.

I pretend to contemplate on his question for a moment. "With continued usage…one week…if you cautiously use it…it may last a month…I believe..."

the dragon cries out in pain, his reptilian eyes narrow in evident sorrow.

The dragon sobs rainbow tears sliding down the scales underneath his eyes.

'Oh…shit now I feel bad.'

"D-don't cry, noblest one…my bonded is modest but he is a great craftsman and I know he can retrieve what you need to keep this treasure working." Khaleesi shouts passionately with only a cute stutter in the beginning.

The dragon asks while wiping away some tears.

"Yes Truly, my bonded, created this item I call a thunderstick, it fires a projectile that exploded the head and bodies of goblins like they were over ripe fruit!"

"I can provide you with batteries from the outside world!" I quickly interject to quickly cut off that conversation as fast as possible.

'He'll pay me in gold…I can save the FARM!' I express my happiness at this prospect in my mind.
