Chapter 7: Battle Trial

The class gasped in excitement as they saw the costumes, some of them already starting to stand up and move towards the cases that had their numbers on them.
Kai was one of the first to get to her case, her eyes shining with anticipation as she opened it and pulled out her costume.
As she held the costume up, I could see that it was designed to complement her quirk perfectly. It was a light, flowing material, perfect for maneuvering in the air. It also had a hood that would allow her to easily summon and manipulate clouds. The whole costume was a stunning white color, with accents of blue and purple.
She looked absolutely gorgeous in the costume, the white contrasting beautifully with her pink hair. She looked over at me with a small smile, clearly enjoying the way the costume looked on her.
My hero costume consisted of a black skin tight turtleneck bodysuit and I had on a dark gray overcoat that had golden accents. Around my waist I had a utility belt with tons of pouches that seemed to contain something. On my neck was a detachable mask-like device that would cover my mouth, it acted as both a gas mask and a communication tool. The detachable mask-like device that would cover my mouth was also gray and had golden accents. On my head was a headset that could let me listen in on frequencies much like a dispatcher, giving me a way to hear and communicate. The headset consisted of white, dark gray, and golden accents.
The other students looked at me with impressed expressions as I stepped out in my costume. Midoriya, Iida, and Uraraka all gave me a thumbs up, clearly approving of my choice of design.
Ochako's hero costume consisted of a black, full-body suit with a pale pink design down the middle of her torso, topped with two black semi-spheres on her chest, two pink stripes starting at her midsection, a deep pink choker, and two-toned pink sleeves with cuffs.
It also had matching pale and deep pink-colored accessories, including round gauntlets with handles, which were used to increase and decrease her blood pressure, chunky, knee-high boots with deep pink shock-absorbent soles and gray heels that have stiff springs in them to soften landings, and a two-piece belt with a round buckle.
She wore matching headgear with a tinted visor as well, which was used to lessen stress on her ear canals.
(A/N: I'm not describing any more of these motherfuckers hero costumes. You either know it or search it up.)
"After you finish changing, gather in Ground Beta!" All Might said with passion.
The students all nodded in agreement and began to head to the changing rooms, each one eager to try on their new costumes and see how they felt in battle.
After everyone had changed, we made our way to Ground Beta, chatting and joking with each other along the way.
When we arrived, we saw All Might standing in the center of the training area, waiting for them.
"They say the clothes make the man, young men and ladies." All Might announced as we approached him. "Be fully aware, from now on, you are heroes!"
"That's great, everyone. You all look cool!" All Might continued on.
"Now shall we begin, you zygotes?" All Might announced with passion.
The class cheered in response, the excitement and anticipation building as they prepared for their first combat training session.
Ocahko noticed me walking over to her and smiled warmly, waving at me.
"Hey, Uraraka."
"Hey, Haruto!" she said, still smiling.
"What's up?"
"I just wanted to ask about your hero costume." I said as I looked at the skin tight bodysuit, hugging her curves and showing off her body.
She blushed slightly, her cheeks turning a light pink as she fidgeted with the hem of her bodysuit.
"You like it?" she asked, a hint of playfulness in her voice.
"It looks nice, but I'm guessing you didn't intend on it being skin tight?" I responded, not letting a skin tight bodysuit make me nervous.
She chuckled nervously, looking down at herself.
"Yeah, I was a bit surprised when I first put it on. I had hoped it would be a little looser, but the design team assured me that it would be necessary for my quirk to work properly."
"Well, you look amazing in it, Ochako." I complimented her.
She blushed even more, her face turning a bright red.
"T-thank you…" she stuttered, looking down at the ground as she tried to hide her embarrassment.
I noticed Midoriya approached us in his original green jumpsuit.
He seemed a bit shy as he approached, rubbing the back of his head awkwardly as he saw us talking.
Uraraka saw him too and her face immediately brightened.
"Deku!" she called out, waving him over with a smile.
Midoriya walked over to us, his face a little flushed as he saw the way Uraraka was dressed in her hero costume. He tried to avoid looking at her, but his eyes kept flicking back to her, his cheeks turning pinker with each glance.
"Calm down, Midoriya." I joked.
Midoriya jumped slightly at my words, his face turning even redder as he looked at me.
"I-I'm calm! I'm perfectly calm!" he stuttered, trying to sound convincing but failing miserably.
Uraraka giggled at Midoriya's flustered response, finding it cute how easily he blushed.
I noticed how All Might looked at Midoriya's costume, trying not to laugh.
All Might was clearly struggling to hold back a laugh as he looked at Midoriya, his expression a mix of amusement and nostalgia.
All Might cleared his throat and composed himself before addressing the class.
"Alright, now that everyone's here, let's get started with our first combat training session!"
The class cheered again, excitement and anticipation filling the air as they prepared to take on the first challenge of their hero training.
All Might smiled as he watched the students get pumped up, feeling proud of his students and excited to see how they would perform.
"We'll be doing a series of mock battles today. Each of you will be paired up with a random classmate and given a scenario to work through. Your goal is to either capture the other team or protect the designated objective until the end of the battle."
I raised my hand, this was my time to get my well deserved brownie points.
All Might noticed my hand raised and called on me.
"Yes, young Narikawa?"
"We're going to be doing indoor battles, correct?"
All Might nodded in confirmation.
"That's right, all the battles will take place indoors. The location will be decided by a random draw, so no two teams will be fighting in the same area."
"Can anyone tell me why we will be doing indoor battles?" All Might asked.
Midoriya raised his hand almost immediately, a serious expression on his face.
All Might smiled at Midoriya's enthusiasm and called on him.
"Yes, Young Midoriya?"
"Well, indoor battles can be a difficult scenario for heroes to face because of the tight quarters and limited space. It forces heroes to rely on their quick thinking and adaptability to overcome the challenges they encounter. It's also a good way to test how well they can use their quirks in enclosed spaces, since most villain encounters will likely take place in buildings and structures."
All Might nodded approvingly at Midoriya's answer.
"Exactly right, young Midoriya. Indoor battles provide a unique challenge that heroes must overcome to succeed. They also offer valuable lessons in teamwork, as you will need to coordinate with your partner to achieve your objective."
"All Might-sensei?" I asked.
All Might turned to me again.
"Yes, what is it?"
"Is it fine if I add onto what Midoriya said?"
All Might chuckled.
"Of course, go ahead."
"There are many situations where indoor battles can happen. Some examples are: Imprisonment, house arrest, backroom deals, bank robberies, and so many more. The truly intelligent villains hide in the shadows."
All Might nodded again, impressed by my analysis.
"You're absolutely right. Indoor battles can happen in all sorts of scenarios, and the smartest villains will use their environment to their advantage. It's the heroes' job to be even smarter and outwit them."
All Might smiled at me and the rest of the class.
"Well said, young Narikawa. You have a good grasp of the situation and understand the importance of thinking outside the box. Keep up the good work."
Midoriya looked at me with a mix of awe and respect, clearly impressed by my knowledge and insight. Uraraka was also looking at me, a small smile on her face as she nodded in agreement with All Might's praise.
Kai Hikari was looking back at me with a neutral expression, her arms crossed as she leaned against the wall. She seemed to be listening to the conversation but also keeping her own thoughts to herself.
All Might began explaining the random draw process, asking everyone to gather around the table in the middle of the room.
"Now, everyone, come over here and write your names down on these slips of paper. I'll be drawing two names at random to determine the first two teams for the mock battles."
All Might gathered the slips of paper and shuffled them around in his hands, making sure they were thoroughly mixed up before reaching into the pile and pulling out two.
"Alright, the first team is… Team B!"
The class looked around at each other, trying to guess who was on Team B. Some students began to whisper among themselves, trying to figure out the teammates.
All Might smiled at the students' curiosity.
"And the second team is… Team I!"
The students continued to murmur among themselves, wondering who would be paired up on each team. All Might waited patiently for the murmurs to die down before speaking again.
"Okay, now that the teams are drawn, let's see who's up first."
All Might took the slips of paper and placed them in front of him on the table, unfolding them and reading the names.
"Team B's villains are… Narikawa and Midoriya."
'Oh? Things are already deviating from canon. I would have preferred Hikari or Ochako.'
Midoriya looked over at me, a mix of surprise and excitement on his face. He didn't expect to be paired up with me, but he was looking forward to the challenge.
Midoriya smiled back at me as I nodded, his determination clear in his eyes. He was ready to give it his all in the upcoming battle.
Meanwhile, Uraraka was watching the two of us, a slight pang of disappointment in her heart. She had hoped to be paired up with Midoriya, but she quickly pushed the feeling aside and focused on the task at hand.
All Might continued to speak.
"And Team I's heroes are… Kai Hikari and…"
He looked down at the slip of paper and paused for a moment, a look of surprise crossing his face.
'I take back everything I said, this will be so exciting~'
Kai Hikari raised an eyebrow, curious as to who her partner was. She glanced over at Midoriya and I, a smirk forming on her face as she awaited All Might's next words.
All Might cleared his throat, trying to hide his surprise at the match-up.
"And… Katsuki Bakugo."
'It hasn't changed too much, but this will be an easy battle.'
Kai's smirk widened into a full-blown grin at the announcement. She had heard about Bakugo's explosive temper and his reputation for being a strong fighter. This match-up was going to be interesting, to say the least.
Bakugo's expression remained stoic as he heard his name called out. He crossed his arms, a determined look in his eyes. He wasn't one to back down from a challenge, and this battle would be no different.
All Might looked between the two teams, a mixture of anticipation and excitement on his face. He could already sense the intensity of the upcoming battle.
"Alright, now that the teams are chosen, let's head to the arena. Follow me."
All Might led us towards the building while our classmates stayed in the monitoring building.
As we walked, I could feel the tension in the air. The other students were eagerly watching us, curious to see how the match would play out.
Once we arrived at the building, All Might gestured for us to enter.
"The villains will have five minutes to hide their bomb and strategize before the heroes enter. Heroes, you'll have 15 minutes to find and capture the villains or retrieve the bomb."
Midoriya nodded, his mind already racing with ideas and strategies. Kai and Bakugo also looked determined, ready to face whatever challenge was thrown at them.
"How can the villains win, All Might-sensei?"
All Might smiled at the question.
"Well, the villains win by either capturing both of the heroes or successfully protecting the bomb until the timer runs out. So, the goal is for them to either capture the heroes or hold off the heroes long enough to keep the bomb safe."
"Alright." I grinned internally, this is probably going to be the most exciting thing I've done in this world.
All Might looked at his watch.
"Okay, five minutes starts now. Go, go, go!"

I wont lie, the last part of this chapter I had used an ai to decided the first battle. Lazy on my part but I got extremely hyped making it into the story.
For now, I definitely think i need to revise on the actual battle portion. I'll proof read and release it as is, and see how y'all like it. I'm not really used to describing fights in detail. I'm the type of person to say, 'Yo! That mf just punched that guy in the face, fucking loser!', so yeah.
Give feedback on that part when it comes out.
Also, we got the first review ever on this fanfic, and my first ever on one. I knew that put the fries in the bag would attract some people.
Also, let me know if I start going down some route that makes other characters dumb when they should be smart, making the main character seem the smartest. I don't want to be the author who starts going down that road.
