Just as time started to stretch a little too long and Celeste stood tortured watching emotions pass Tiels expression, Sara stepped in. Her hand pulled Celeste back as if to protect her.
"Hey! Long time no see! Congratulations on your wedding, I'm sorry I couldn't come. This is Maia, my new partner." Sara pointed out, smiling to soften the awkwardness in the air.
The men behind Tiel lifted their brows curiously, some stunned as well. Some Celeste realized knew who she was and knew it was a lie. Her name was not Sara, it was Celeste, and she was Tiels wife.
One of his right hand man, whom Celeste never met before put a hand on Tiels shoulder. It snapped him back into the moment.
"A-ah! Yes... yes... of course. Maia? Was it? So... how long have you known her?" Tiel asked, his gaze met hers. As if asking, 'what is this? What are you doing here?'
