Chapter 28 - CHAPTER : 28 : Diplomatic Talks

Sakura Empire territorial waters

June 14, 1942

8:00 AM

A Task Force consisting of 8 Fleet Carriers, 5 Light Carriers, 1 Supercarrier, 1 Amphibious Ship, 10 Light Cruisers, 8 Heavy Cruisers, and 20 Destroyers is sailing near the Sakura Empire's territorial waters. The force is reminiscent of the WW2 Allied Force in the Pacific, with the Super Carrier in the middle.

Onboard the Flight Deck of CVN-80 USS Enterprise, an MV-22 Osprey is being prepared in pre-fight check-up for take-off by Manjuus. Enterprise-80 meanwhile was instructing the diplomats on the Deck, while the jets are being scrambled and armed.

"Listen up. Lucas, did you bring your gear?" Enterprise-80 asks, as the Manjuus are checking the Osprey behind her.

"Yes, Ma'am. My inventory of weapons is fine. I checked them all a minute ago," Lucas responds, wearing his Dress Blues for the diplomatic talks.

"Langley and Maya, are the document papers alright?" Enterprise-80 asks the two, as they check the documents.

"Y-Yes, Ma'am," JS Maya replies, stuttering, her voice shaking because of the pressure of becoming a diplomat.

"Yes, Ma'am, the documents are safe and secure inside the briefcase," Langley replies professionally, due to her experience as a teacher and participant in political meetings.

"Ayanami, are you ready?" Enterprise-80 asks her, noticing her restlessness.

"Hai," Ayanami replies hesitantly, thinking of the other Shipgirls in the Sakura Empire. How would they react to her arrival, and how would she convince them to stop this nonsensical fight?

Enterprise-80 looks behind her, and the Manjuus give a thumbs-up, signaling that everything is ready. "Good, everything is ready."

The diplomats then walk toward the rear hatch door of the Osprey and buckle themselves in. JS Maya helps Langley put on her seatbelt.

Ayanami is seated next to Lucas, her Rigging activated. Then the Osprey's two engines start up. The sudden jerk of the Osprey scares Ayanami and Langley, as they hold onto their seats as if they don't want to let go.

Queen Elizabeth told them earlier about the plane's tendency to crash and kill all its passengers.

CV-6 USS Enterprise

Enterprise-6 is standing at the bow of her ship. She is looking at the Supercarrier as the Osprey takes off from the deck and heads to the Sakura Empire. It is being escorted by 4 F/A-18 Super Hornets Block III, armed to the teeth with AIM-260 JATMs (Joint Advanced Tactical Missiles).

"You look so proud?" Cruiser Belfast asks, walking behind her.

Enterprise-6 is looking proudly at her successor as it waves her flag and spreads hope to those who believe in peace, and fear to those who threaten it.

"Do I really look like that, Belfast?" Enterprise-6 asks, looking at her with a smile. "Maybe seeing the bright future of Naval Aviation just makes me proud."

Then the two look at the Supercarrier, hearing a song blasted through the speaker system. This catches their attention, as they listen to the song that synchronizes each aircraft's take-off.

"Danger Zone? What's that? That's quite a weird choice of song," Cruiser Belfast says, confused by the lyrics.

"Seems like her favorite song," Enterprise-6 comments, vibing to the song. She doesn't know what the song means, but she feels the hype in every lyric.

"It's CVN-65 USS Enterprise's song from the movie Top Gun," Frigate Belfast chimes in. The two turn around.

"CVN-65?... Is that her predecessor?" Cruiser Belfast asks, looking at Frigate Belfast and Enterprise-6.

"Yes, it was CV-6's successor and CVN-80's predecessor," Frigate Belfast speaks with a hint of pride in her voice.

"Is she featured in that movie?" Enterprise-6 asks, her curiosity piqued after hearing her successor (daughter) is in a movie.

Frigate Belfast held her chin and looks up, summarizing the whole movie. "The movie is about a pilot named 'Maverick' who doesn't abide by the rules. He was considered a reckless pilot, but his performance is one of the best. He was selected after another pilot quit following a tense chase with an enemy aircraft. Maverick and Goose are the only ones left to represent the number one pilot of USS Enterprise. They were both sent to Alameda, California, to enter TOPGUN School, where pilots are taught the art of dogfighting. I think that's all. You should watch the movie to know it yourself."

Enterprise-6 holds her chin as she contemplates watching the movie. "Maybe I should watch it after the end of this conflict."

"Good," Frigate Belfast says.

They then return their gazes to the Supercarrier, as it launches F/A-25 Hellcats, two at a time. Above, an E-2D Hawkeye is loitering, tracking all friendly aircraft, especially the propeller ones.

The MV-22 Osprey is approaching the Sakura's Home Island, escorted by F/A-18s at its cruising speed.

Two squadrons of A6M Zeros try to intercept the escorting F/A-18s, but fail. All the Zeros are left in the dust as the Hornets hit their afterburners.

Sakura Empire Harbor

9:00 AM

A group of Sakuran Shipgirls and high-ranking military members are waiting at the Harbor. One of them is Musashi, who has been staring at the horizon, waiting for the diplomats to arrive.

"Are you sure they would come? It's too early..." Zuikaku complains, bored of waiting at the Harbor.

"Be patient, Zuikaku. We are on an important mission," Shoukaku scolds Zuikaku for her complaints.

"Be quiet, you two," Musashi speaks, and the two straighten up and respond, "HAI."

"I guess it is too early for us to wait," PM Tojo says, also bored.

"Quit yapping, old man," Eugen exclaims, hating being in the same place as PM Tojo.

They then hear a chopping noise, different from any propeller aircraft they know of. They see the aircraft appearing on the horizon, thinking it's like one of the propeller passenger planes used by any nation.

Graf Zeppelin speaks in her typical cynical voice, "Looks like you don't have to wait. They're already here."

The aircraft approaches the Harbor and slowly tilts its rotors to slow down, surprising the onlookers.

"H-How did that aircraft do that?!" Zuikaku yells in shock. Shoukaku and PM Tojo are amazed by the aircraft's capability, as no other propeller aircraft can do that.

"So, this is the 'aircraft' that aircraft carriers are using?" Musashi mumbles to herself, looking at the aircraft.

"That's quite a weird aircraft..." Shinano comments, looking at the Osprey in her drowsy state.

Cold sweat drips from the Iron Blood Shipgirls' backs as they realize how advanced the Aircraft is. The existence of this Technological Aircraft is proof that the carrier using it should be at the level of UR Shipgirls or Arbiters, because of its sophistication.

Graf Zeppelin speaks, "Eugen?"

"Ja... that is similar to our FL 282 Kolibri," Eugen says, eyeing the aircraft.

Then the 4 F/A-18 Super Hornets that escorted the Osprey make a flyby and create sonic booms, shaking everyone in the Harbor.

Yukikaze and Shigure hold their dog ears as the jets fly by, and Yukikaze shouts, "What the hell is that!?"

"AAAHHHH!!!! My ears AAAHHH!!!!" Shigure is crouching on the ground, holding her dog ears.

"Nee-san, that Aircraft!" Zuikaku shouts, pointing at the Hornets.

"Hai. That's her Aircraft," Shoukaku replies.

Shinano wakes up from her drowsy state as soon as she hears the sonic boom. "Nani...."

"That's quite a bold one. But, I must say, that was a fun flyby," Eugen comments with her seductive voice, looking at the jets.

Graf Zeppelin is just smiling crazily as she looks at the jets. "Those planes are incredible." Everyone looks at her with bewildered expressions.

"Those jets alone are enough to say that you guys are fucked up," Graf Zeppelin says in a cynical tone, smiling evilly.

'A Helicopter that can tilt its rotors and jet-powered planes that can break the sound barrier. This is bad, totally bad,' Eugen thinks, looking at the Osprey.

Musashi fixates her eyes on a lone Hornet as it flies above the Capital uncontested. Several Zeros soar into the sky to intercept the lone Hornet flying above the Emperor's Castle. Enterprise-80 let the lone Hornet do its flyby over the Emperor's backyard to remind him what is about to come.

Musashi has a brief vision of the Sakura Empire's Capital burning at night as she looks at the Capital where the Hornet flew above. She is flabbergasted at the sheer number of bombs that were dropped by the flight formation of B-29 Bombers.

She could hear the residents cry for help from afar as they were rained upon by these unconventional bombs that burned instead of exploding. She covers her mouth as she saw the devastation of the Capital. The lively, bustling city is now reduced to ruins and ashes.

Then a massive shadow engulfs her position. She quickly looks up in reaction to find the shadow's owner. Her eyes widen at the massive Aircraft that flew above uncontested. She wonders why the Bomber is alone and no aircraft is intercepting it. She eyes it for a moment and looks at the city, recognizing it.

"Hiroshima???" She mutters in disbelief as she sees the city, while standing at Tokyo Harbor.

She then returns her attention to the lone bomber as it opens its bomb bay and releases its single deadly payload above the city.

"A single bomb??? What would that thing do?" She questions why the lone Bomber dropped a single Bomb over Hiroshima.

Her question is answered with a blinding flash of light. She reacts quickly and covers her eyes. As the bright light subsides, she looks around. She is now standing in the middle of the destroyed city, seeing wrecked wooden and brick houses. The sight that terrifies her the most is the bodies of the dead, charred beyond recognition. Other corpses are vaporized by the extreme heat.

"No! ..... Hiroshima is... No, it can't be..." She mutters in disbelief at the destruction she witnesses.

Musashi returns to reality, tugged by Zuikaku on her kimono. Tears slowly come out of both eyes, and she breathes erratically, feeling as if she is being crushed by a giant's palm.

"Are you alright, Lady Musashi? You've been staring at the Capital-" Zuikaku asks, noticing her staring at the Capital for a while.

"I'm alright. I'm just having weird memories," Musashi says, wiping the tears from her eyes.

Zuikaku and the others are confused as to why she is tearing up and breathing erratically while looking in the direction of the Capital.

"You've been having hallucinations ever since you received those transmissions from Azur Lane. Is there something you want to tell us?" PM Tojo says, observing her odd behavior since yesterday.

"My~My. Having nightmares?" Graf Zeppelin chimes in, seeing her like an afraid animal.

"Why... you..." Zuikaku grips her katana.

She is stopped by Musashi. "Zuikaku. Don't."

Eugen speaks to stop Graf Zeppelin from insulting the Sakurans with their peculiar situation. "That's enough, Graf. You know how bad the situation is."

Shinano rests her arm on Musashi's shoulder and speaks in her drowsy state, "You saw it? The devastation of this war."

Musashi is a bit confused, but she knows what Shinano means. "Hai..."

The MV-22 hovers at one of the piers in the Harbor. The rear doors open, revealing four people sitting inside the Aircraft.

The first to come out are the 10 armed Manjuus with M4s, forming a circular defense around the Aircraft. Lucas follows suit and assists the girls in getting off the Osprey.

Ayanami is the last to get off the Osprey, assisted by Lucas. Yukikaze, Shigure, and Yuudachi run and lunge themselves, hugging Ayanami. The three then start crying, missing her so much.

"Ayanami. Waaaahhhhh"

Ayanami greets her friends. "I'm home..."

"WHOA! Careful, you might bump into someone," Lucas moves aside as the three destroyers hug Ayanami.

Yukikaze, Shigure, and Yuudachi look at Lucas, blink for a moment, point their fingers at him, and shout, "It's the Ugly Gremlin!!!"

JS Maya chuckles at the way Lucas is called the Ugly Gremlin. Lucas can't argue with that insult coming from a kid.

"Get away from Ayanami!" Yukikaze yells, positioning herself in front of her.

"Hai, you get away from Ayanami. Ugly Gremlin!" Shigure shouts, sticking out her tongue.

Yukikaze, Shigure, and Yuudachi shield Ayanami from him. Lucas pays no attention to the three, focusing his attention on the two women with dog ears. He remembers those dog ears and the death glare from the other woman.

"You look good without those Ninja outfits," he mutters under his breath, but Takao's dog ears hear it loud and clear.

Takao stares back at him with intent to kill. Her hand slowly hovers over the hilt of her katana.

JS Maya speaks, "You know she can hear you, right?"

"Yes, I know about the demi-human superior hearing thing," he says, without breaking his gaze at Takao.

"Gremlin???" Musashi asks in confusion. The way she looks at him isn't that of a pervert.

"He's the one Atago and I fought," Takao explains.

"I see..." Musashi says with a nod.

"So, that's him, huh?" Eugen speaks in her typical seductive tone, looking at Lucas.

Lucas sees her looking at him, and cold chills run down his skin as he stares at her and the other Iron Blood Shipgirls.

'He's able to fight off Takao and Atago with only his pants and rifle? Very interesting,' Eugen thinks, eyeing him intensively.

But the one who catches most of the Sakuran attention is a woman wearing a Japanese Naval Officer Uniform. JS Maya is looking at the Sakuran Shipgirls and High-Ranking Military members who are staring at her.

She takes a deep breath, preparing herself for the introduction. She bows as she introduces herself. "Hello. My name is JS Maya DDG-179, first of the Maya Class Destroyer of the Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Forces."

Sakuran Kansen are surprised. They thought she was just a mere imitation, but they are wrong. She walks and talks, and how she introduces herself is similar to Cruiser Maya.

'She really is similar to Cruiser Maya, but she's a bit 'mature'.' Musashi thinks, eyeing her matured body.

And Lucas introduces himself next. "My name is USS Jack H. Lucas DDG-125, 75th of the Arleigh Burke Class Destroyer of the United States Navy."

"I thought you two were Cruisers based on your appearance... according to our intelligence report?" Musashi asks, looking at JS Maya, who is similar to their Cruiser Maya.

"The role of a Destroyer became larger, so we have to grow bigger to fill that larger role of facing enemy threats," Lucas answers Musashi's question, noticing JS Maya having a hard time responding.

A woman's voice with a German accent catches Lucas's attention. He looks at the three Iron Blood Shipgirls. His alarm is blaring inside his head, sensing danger.

"So, you are the 'man' that shot down the 14-inch shell from the Kongou's?" Eugen asks Lucas with her seductive voice, getting closer to him.

Lucas hides behind JS Maya's back as Eugen tries to get closer. This shocks everyone, even JS Maya herself.

"W-Why are you h-hiding behind my b-back?" JS Maya asks Lucas, stuttering in embarrassment, her face turning red.

Lucas speaks, hiding behind JS Maya's back. "The Shipgirls here in the Sakura Empire and the Iron Blood are giving me red flags."

Langley looks at the Axis Shipgirls, fixes her glasses, and speaks. "Well, Roon, Akagi, Taihou, Atago, and Eugen are the ones you should avoid. They are the ones who would do such things without even permission."

Atago interjects. "I always ask permission first," she says, raising a hand.

"I doubt that," Takao says.

Atago pouts. "Boo.... You're mean."

"I already handled Akagi and Taihou, they are positioned far away from our location. Atago, Eugen, and Roon will behave for our diplomatic talks," Musashi reassures Lucas about the 'yanderes' roaming around the Empire.

Especially the two, Akagi and Taihou. They are a pain in the ass every time they are positioned or stationed in one place. Those two are like chemicals, both toxic with each other.

"I didn't introduce myself yet, so let me introduce myself. My name is IJN Musashi, second of the Yamato Class Battleship of the Sakura Empire," Musashi introduces herself and offers a handshake.

Lucas accepts it. "It's an honor to meet you, Miss Musashi," he says, shaking her hand. She is staring at him with interest.

She stares at him to confirm if he is worthy of her worries every time the Modern Kansen is mentioned, dazed in blank space thinking about her nightmares.

Lucas notices her stare and lets go immediately, feeling something different with her stare. It isn't comparable to other Shipgirls. Her stare is like assessing his capability in combat.

JS Maya takes the handshake too. "It's a pleasure to meeting you too. Miss Musashi." Musashi smiles at her.

"And this is my sister Shinano, third of the Yamato Class Battleship," Musashi gestures at her sister, but she is sleeping.

"My apologies about that, she's always like this," Musashi apologizes for Shinano's sleeping habit.

"No need to apologize, Miss Musashi, we kind of have a problem similar to that," Lucas remarks, remembering Laffey's sleeping behavior.

"And this is Atago and Takao," Musashi gestures at the two Heavy Cruisers beside her.

"You guys look nice in your Naval Uniform, rather than the 'Sexy Ninja' outfit," Lucas says in a sarcastic tone. This angers Takao, her face turning red as she remembers the night they fought.

"The next time we meet on the battlefield, I want you to wear something nice for your funeral!" Takao says, fuming in anger. She is stopped by Atago from bursting into rage.

"Sorry, I was just joking. Could you please stop staring at me like I am some kind of pervert? It's not my fault that you guys attacked in the middle of the night, when I was about to hit the shower," Lucas apologizes to Takao.

Takao calms down as Lucas apologizes to her. "Fine, I'll accept your apology, for now. I will still beat you."

"Fine, I'll fight you without holding back any of my firepower," Lucas remarks, and the two shake hands with a smile.

Everyone is surprised at Takao smiling. They have never seen her smile like that before. And this is the only time she smiles like that in front of a man.

"W-Wait a minute, you just said 'not holding back any of your firepower,' that means?" JS Maya asks, because she knows how destructive a single Modern Destroyer is against a WW2 Heavy Cruiser.

"Yes, I will use my entire arsenal to fight her," Lucas says with a smile on his face. JS Maya covers her mouth in shock.

'Wait. He's holding back in our battle that night? It can't be... is he bluffing now?' Takao thinks, as she never saw him use any of those missiles to fight her and Atago.

Eugen holds her chin as she listens to the conversation. "He did not use any of the missiles to beat Takao, how odd?" she mumbles.

Graf Zeppelin speaks. "Holding back? Is he messing with us?"

"Maybe he hesitated, because Takao is a woman," Z-23 suggests.

"That's quite a wise observation coming from you, Z-23," Eugen says. Z-23 frowns at her teasing habit.

Musashi continues her introduction as she gestures at the two Crane Sisters. "This is Shoukaku and Zuikaku." The two look at him.

"5th Carrier Division?" JS Maya asks, trying to confirm the Crane Sisters.

"Yes, we are the 5th Carrier Division, why do you ask?" Shoukaku speaks first and tries not to let Zuikaku ruin the conversation.

"I see..." JS Maya says and slightly nods.

Musashi continues to introduce everyone. "This is Tojo, he's the Prime Minister of the Empire."

PM Tojo offers a handshake.

Lucas thinks, 'So, this is the guy who planned the attack, huh?'

JS Maya is having a flashback of Japan getting bombed to oblivion. Lucas sees this and puts his right hand on her left shoulder. "Don't let your anger get the best of you. Remember... we are here to act as professional diplomats, and not some thugs."

JS Maya's hatred subsides, as she thinks of their current mission.

Lucas accepts PM Tojo's offered handshake. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Prime Minister Tojo."

PM Tojo responds. "The pleasure is mine."

JS Maya is having a second thought about the handshake, but Lucas reassures her that it's okay. She then accepts the offered handshake with caution.

"I-It's a pleasure to meet you too," JS Maya says, holding back her emotions of anger.

Langley then shakes hands with PM Tojo. Then the Iron Blood Shipgirls introduce themselves next.

Eugen introduces herself first with a seductive voice. "Guten Tag. My name is KMS Prinz Eugen, third of the Hipper Class Heavy Cruiser of the Iron Blood." She then stares at Lucas with her typical seductive looks.

Lucas just ignores her seductive tendencies. 'No one is buying that shit. I've been through hell. And you thought seducing me is easy, you might be lucky if you try it on some lowly Private.'

"This is KMS Roon, the Heavy Cruiser of the Iron Blood. Be careful, she's a bit of umm..."

"Crazy psychopath. Yeah, I'll be careful," Lucas cuts in.

"Ja."

Roon looks at him, with the typical 'Yandere Roon' look. "HA HA HA. I heard you beat these two. That means you're a strong one..." She then laughs manically.

Lucas thinks, 'Stranger danger!' He backs off a bit, ready to run behind JS Maya's back. He's sensing the same murderous tendencies as Laffey-200.

JS Maya thinks, 'Why does she look like a very typical murderous Yandere in every anime?' She's also sensing the same thing that Lucas is sensing.

"And this is KMS Odin, one of Iron Blood's strongest Battlecruiser." Odin just maintains her stoic face as she is introduced.

Lucas asks her the stupidest question you could ever ask. "umm... Do you have a Mjolnir?"

"Nein," Odin replies coldly.

"Verständlich, Ich wünsche dir einen schönen Tag," Lucas responds quickly and does a 'peace sign'.

"And this is KMS Graf Zeppelin, first of its Class of Aircraft Carrier of the Iron Blood." Graf Zeppelin only looks at him. Lucas tries to look at her in the eyes, but his eyeball is shifting downward to her chest.

Graf Zeppelin notices his eyes staring at her chest. "Hey. My eyes are up here."

Lucas replies as he maintains his gaze. "Yeah, I know."

"This is Z-23 of the Z class Destroyer. But her friends call her Nimi. Is that right, Nimi?"

Z-23 frowns. "I said don't call me 'Nimi' in front of someone."

Lucas thinks, 'Damn, she looks like your typical Sergeant. The only missing is the knife-hand and yelling, a lot of yelling.'

JS Maya thinks, 'She's quite a big brainer.'

"And this is Z-1 of the Z class Destroyer."

Z-1 clears her throat and mimics a manly voice. "Guten Tag, Kamerad."

Lucas raises a brow as he notices the difference between the older Iron Blood Shipgirls and the youngest to oldest; the younger ones are carefree, while the adults are serious, and the other one is crazy.

After the introduction at the port, Musashi speaks. "We should continue the discussion inside the building, we are attracting more attention than we predicted."

As she says those words, Sakuran citizens are gathering at the port as they gaze at the Peculiar Aircraft parked at the Harbor with Heavily Armed Manjuus. Journalists and spies take the moment and take as many photos of the diplomats' ride.

The Osprey gets the attention of everyone. As minutes pass by, the two rotors start spinning fast to gain enough lift. Then the Osprey flies away and heads to the Task Force location.

The Sakuran and Iron Blood Shipgirls cover their eyes from the gale of wind produced by the two massive rotors of the Osprey as it flies.

Langley, Lucas, and JS Maya nod in agreement; they really don't want to cause any commotion.

"Yeah. It's getting hot and rowdy in here," Lucas says, facing Musashi.

Everyone then heads to the five parked Black Cars in 1940's design. It is guarded by Imperial Guards of the Sakura Empire.

Atago asks JS Maya, as they walk towards the direction of the parked Black Cars. "Hey Maya... can I ask you something?"

"Yeah, what is it?" JS Maya responds, looking to where Atago is.

"Why aren't you afraid of the Iron Blood Shipgirls? I mean, this is your first time seeing them, right?"

JS Maya looks to where the Iron Blood Shipgirls are. "I've been with these wackos, so.... If something stupid pops up, I have them on my back. Besides, they were weirder and stupider than the Iron Blood Shipgirls, especially him," she points at Lucas in front.

Atago puts her hand in her mouth as she giggles. "Oh~. I see~." Something really stupid plan hatches in her head, as she hides her grins.

Lucas is being flanked by Roon and Eugen on both sides. Odin and Graf Zeppelin are following behind them; he's being surrounded by breasts from both sides and back.

As he feels uncomfortable with his situation, they then begin bombarding him with questions about his life and relationships. They don't even ask anything related to the military, they just ask about his life.

'Crap. I'm surrounded,' he thinks, as he stares at both of their assets.

Arizona along with AZ-1 Team crouch at the Cliff overlooking the Harbor below, their spotting scopes pointed at the appointed diplomats.

"What... the... fuck. Are you doing... Mr. Diplomat?" one of the Manjuus utters.

"Bastard got himself surrounded," Arizona comments on the situation Lucas is in.

"Lucas," he radios to him, "careful with the two behind you, I have a gut-wrenching feeling about them."

"Graf and Odin?" he responds, his voice silent.

"Yes, their eyes are on you. They might be quite problematic, you need to distance yourself from them."

"Affirmative."

Arizona warns of the potential danger of Graf Zeppelin and Odin. They are silent compared to Eugen and Roon, but their eyes convey danger that needs to be observed.

JS Maya manages to pull him away from the grip of the Iron Blood, and the two can't argue with her. The Iron Blood girls back off.

"Thanks for the save," Lucas utters his gratitude.

"You let your guard down there for a moment, how are you supposed to help me with that?" JS Maya says with controlled fury.

"Right," he says, trailing off.

Musashi walks beside Langley as they converse about their past interactions. "It's been a while since you visited the Sakura Empire, Langley-san," Musashi says in her friendly manner.

Langley responds to her. "Yes. It's quite a while. The last time I saw you, you and your sister were Nagato's apprentices." She then sighs. "I wonder how Nagato is feeling. The last thing I knew, she was sick and ill."

Musashi is having a hard time saying the situation of Nagato right now, as her health deteriorates. "Well.... She's doing fine..."

Langley notices the hesitation in her voice. "She didn't teach you to lie... you're not good at lying, Musashi."

Musashi just gives up on hiding the truth about Nagato's health. "Yes. She didn't teach me that. I guess you already know her dire situation."

Langley nods. She has been keeping up to date with her old friend with the news, but most of it is covered up to hide her true health. Now she has the confirmation with the operative who was sent by Enterprise-80 to monitor the empire.

They then board the cars and head to the Meeting Hall. The diplomats, Axis Shipgirls, and Military High-Ranks arrive at the Meeting Chamber where the other High-Ranking Officials and Shipgirls are waiting for the diplomats to arrive.

After watching over the diplomats, Arizona and AZ-1 Team move to another position closer to where the meeting takes place. Like the same setup, all the Long Range Listening Devices are set up and funnel the noise for clarity.

After the setup, Arizona radios. "This is Arizona. The diplomats are now entering the Meeting Chamber."

CVN-80 USS Enterprise

Enterprise-80 is inside the ship's CIC, while Manjuus and Meowfficers are fiddling with the onboard panels. The giant monitor is showing the video feed from a drone that is loitering above the Empire.

"Good. Keep an eye on them.... We don't want anything stupid that could happen to our diplomats."

Arizona on radio. "Copy that."

He then prepares his Long Range Listening Device and points it at the Meeting Chamber where the diplomatic talks are to commence.

"Tell them what Uncle Sam is capable of, buddy...." he mutters to himself as he lays down in the bushes and listens to the conversation inside the building.
