Chapter 230 - 230. Logging Efficiency and Future Profits

One worker can cut down 180 trees a day.

Since logging is an exhausting task, the workers take turns using gasoline-powered saws to ensure they don't get too tired while maintaining efficiency.

With each worker using a gasoline saw, a total of 200 saws can cut down 36,000 trees in a single day. Over the course of a month, this adds up to at least 1.08 million trees.

Based on previous calculations, each dried and insecticide-treated log sells for over 1,200 yuan per cubic meter. On average, each log contains about 0.7 cubic meters of wood, making it worth around 840 yuan.

After subtracting the 40 yuan processing cost per log, Jason Liu can still earn at least 800 yuan in profit per log.

At a production rate of 1.08 million logs per month, the total monthly profit exceeds 864 million yuan.

Jason Liu was stunned by the numbers.

He had never imagined that gasoline-powered saws could be this efficient. Initially, he had estimated a monthly logging capacity of 400,000 logs, but the real number turned out to be more than 2.5 times higher.

If this level of production continues, he could make 864 million yuan per month, leading to annual earnings of over 10 billion yuan.

Could he really become a billionaire so quickly?

Of course, reaching the full production capacity would take time. The first three months wouldn't yield over a million logs per month, as workers still needed to get used to handling gasoline saws. However, as they became more skilled, productivity would gradually increase.

Even in the early stages, an average monthly output of 700,000 logs would already make Jason Liu extremely satisfied.

Indeed, the timber business was incredibly lucrative—far more stable and profitable than risky investments in unstable ventures.

That evening, Jason Liu lay on a luxurious sofa bed inside his high-end carriage, unable to sleep due to the excitement of his calculations.

The numbers were simply too staggering!

In just a short time, he could rise to the level of the world's top billionaires. Not only that, but unlike many wealthy people whose net worth was tied to volatile company stocks, his earnings were in cash. His wealth had a solid foundation, making it more valuable than overpriced corporate shares.

Jason Liu's billions, on the other hand, were purely in cash, making him financially stronger in some ways. However, compared to the most powerful figures in the business world, he was still a newcomer.

But that didn't matter. So far, he had only tapped into Westeros' timber resources. In the future, he could expand into other valuable resources that were abundant in Westeros but highly profitable in the modern world.

Resources like iron ore, copper ore, rare metals, and even oil. He wasn't sure if Westeros had rare metal deposits or petroleum, but given that the world was built by George R.R. Martin based on real-world templates, there was a good chance these resources existed.

Mineral wealth in Westeros was likely just as vast as in the real world!

Moreover, since Westeros was a world of magic, dragons, and other supernatural forces, there were bound to be rare minerals that didn't even exist in modern times.

For example, Dragonglass—also known as obsidian—was capable of killing White Walkers.

Despite spending months in the North, Jason Liu had yet to see any obsidian deposits. However, he speculated that the reason Dragonglass could kill White Walkers was due to it containing fire-based magical properties, making it the natural counter to the icy magic of the White Walkers.

After all, ordinary weapons like swords and spears couldn't harm White Walkers. Only magic could counter magic, and obsidian's fire element was likely the perfect weapon against their ice-based magic.

Thinking about these mystical properties, Jason Liu became curious about the true nature of Dragonglass. If he ever found a source, he would definitely take some back for research.

As his thoughts wandered, Jason Liu finally drifted off to sleep.

The next morning, he was woken up by the sounds of activity from the lumberyard construction site.

As soon as he opened the carriage door, he saw Kent standing with a toothbrush, toothpaste, and a toothbrush cup, while Rubin held a plastic washbasin filled with perfectly warm water. Chris stood outside holding facial cleanser and a fresh towel.

Jason Liu stared at them, still half-asleep.

"What are you doing...?" he muttered, yawning as he tried to wake up.

Kent grinned. "My lord, before we left, Lina told us to take good care of you! She stocked the carriage with toiletries in advance, so we've prepared everything for you. The water is ready—please wash up."

Chris lifted a bottle of facial cleanser and a neatly folded blue towel. "My lord, this is for your face."

Jason Liu blinked, taking a moment to remember where he was. He wasn't in his comfortable castle bedroom in Winterfell's market town anymore.

No wonder he was seeing these three first thing in the morning.

Although he would have preferred being woken up and taken care of by Lina or Bella, he had no choice under the circumstances. So, he began his morning routine with Kent and the others assisting him.

As he brushed his teeth, Jason Liu couldn't help but reflect on how much he had changed.

Life as a noble in this feudal world was far too easy to get used to.

A man could grow complacent when constantly served like this.

Yes, he was starting to miss the mornings in his castle, where Lina and Bella took care of him with their soft voices and gentle touch.

Had he become too accustomed to being pampered?

Luxury was a universal weakness of mankind.

No one could resist comfort for long.

Even in another world, human nature remained unchanged.

After washing up, Jason Liu watched as Kent carefully put away his toothbrush, toothpaste, and washbasin, while Chris stored the facial cleanser and towel in the cabinet under the bed.

It was only then that Jason Liu realized Lina had placed everything here in advance.

Outside the logging site, many villagers had brought their entire families along. Since the village was far from the lumberyard, they built small wooden sheds using thin logs and branches, leaning them against the yard's massive log fences.

At night, they slept in these simple sheds, saving themselves the long daily journey back and forth from their homes.

Jason Liu took a deep breath, glancing at the busy workers. He had an empire to build, and this was just the beginning.
