Chapter 40 - Chapter 36 : Preparing for evolution!

The Zerg, Soldiers and Elite Soldiers began to move like a small tide through the main city of the Regium Aeternum kingdom. I could hear the screams of the citizens, shouting in fear and completely lost in the chaos unfolding around them.

Then I looked at Rosia with a slight doubt, my eyebrows furrowing a little before I asked her the question.

"By the way, Rosia, how are things with Annie?"

"Oh, my queen, ever since you mentioned the plan to take over the country, I told Annie to leave and not come back. I told her something serious was about to happen. That made the Love Parasite in her rise from 75% to 85%."

"You told her to leave?"

I was stunned, eyes wide open.

"Yes, I figured that while we take control of this kingdom and the others, she could help us inside other empires, like Célarion. Like what you're preparing with Isolde."

"Oh! Not bad, Rosia! Good girl."

Rosia's eyes lit up, and she squirmed in her seat, happy with my praise. I just smiled at that. My gaze shifted to Calista, and I thought for a moment.

"Where is Isolde now?"

I asked her using Hallucinogenic Particles to speak. She was stunned at first, then answered.

"I released her, she told us everything… Well, now I understand that she told me exactly what you wanted her to say… My… My queen..."

I couldn't help but laugh inwardly when she said "my queen," because her face twisted in pure disgust as she spoke the words! But I nodded knowingly, then turned back to Rosia.

"Rosia, go tell Isolde to take her staff and run to her kingdom. Also, tell the Zerg to eat only one or two people from her entourage to make it look real."

"Yes, my queen…"

Rosia spoke to a Zerg who hadn't left, next to her throne, and the Zerg went off to relay the command to the swarm. As for me, I began to think about what to do next...

No matter how I look at it, whether I want to create a pig farm—well, I mean a human farm—or simply keep conquering territories, it's going to take time.

The first option says it all: births take time, and using this city as a giant cage too.

But regarding the second point, the time it takes for Zergs to be born, to gain more troops, or to take control and build nests—it'll all take time, especially for the massive Regium Aeternum kingdom!

In the end, I have two things to focus on for now. First, turning Naturia into a Zerg—I think her unique skill can help me in this situation. The second thing is... my evolution!

To build a perfect base, I need at least three intermediate upgrades, and I already have two! But I think I can get two more: Bipedalism and Humanoid.

Although I'm pretty sure I can also get Quadrupedalism and maybe even Thoracic Legs or Bite Force!

Alright, let's focus on Bipedalism and Humanoid! For that, lots of humans need to be eaten! Thankfully, my descendants can give me upgrades. I think I can get 5 minor upgrades from these two and fuse them into an intermediate one!

Honestly, it didn't take that long to get those two! Three weeks! It took all of us just three weeks to achieve that! And in fact, after two months, I also managed to get Quadrupedalism to intermediate by eating tons of animals! And animals also gave me enough to unlock Bite Force!

I opened the system panel to see the intermediate upgrades!

[Bipedalism– Intermédiaire]: When on two legs, your speed increases by 6%. On flat ground, your balance is improved.

[Humanoid – Intermédiaire]: Your future evolutions will make your appearance slightly more humanoid. You can now preserve humanoid blood to transform your appearance only; you remain a Zerg internally.

[Quadrupedalism – Intermédiaire]: When on all fours, your speed increases by 10%. The ground becomes your territory; on flat ground, obstacles are no longer an issue.

[Bite Force – Intermédiaire]: Your bite becomes considerably more powerful, capable of crushing tough materials such as reinforced bones and low-grade metals.

Perfect, it's time to move to the next phase!

"Rosia! Bring me some humans and animals to eat!"

"How many, my queen?"

"..."

Right, how many? For Rosia, it was 500 humans, but for me?

"System?"

[500 humans too, but 800 would be better for a stronger base.]

I didn't hesitate at all, I shouted directly to Rosia!

"800 humans!"

"Yes, my queen!"

Rosia left, and I started to prepare. It's time to make my personal nest! And I'll build it right in the throne room!
