Chapter 90 - Punishment for Sinners

Uriel Pov:

"Ok, ok, you want to know about the girl you love, that's cute," the Doomsday Priestess says as she finishes eating the sweet from the tray.

"Hmm, let's see what I can ask for," the Priestess says, appearing to think for a moment before deciding.

"Okay, I've decided," she says, as we both wait for some absurd request.

"I won't help you," she says, leaving me stunned, unable to believe it. I literally offered my life, and yet she won't help me?

"W-What did you say?" I ask in disbelief.

"You can't provide me with anything that would satisfy me, I'm sorry, but I ask that you leave my territory," she says coldly to me, without the previous tone.

"..."

"I suggest you don't go down that path, hero. You can't defeat me to force me to speak, leave here while I'm still being kind," the atmosphere becomes heavy and tense, like a prelude to a difficult fight.

"...Could you at least tell me if she's okay..." I say, giving up the fight. It wouldn't be fair of me as a hero to put other lives at risk because of my selfish desires.

"...She's fine, in fact, she's much better than in the past, that I can say with absolute certainty, and know this, your presence is something that would only displease her, and do you know why?" She questions.

"No..."

"Because you can no longer save her, and because she no longer needs a hero to save her, people change, in the past she even needed you, but now that is no longer a necessity," the Priestess speaks as if she knows me.

"I understand...I'm glad she's doing well...let's go, Elaina," I say, getting up to leave, discouraged.

"Great hero Uriel, know that at least she wishes you happiness, and she is not angry that you failed to save her, I hope my answers have been satisfactory," she speaks as if it were a transaction or a sale.

"They were..." I say, leaving here with Elaina. It doesn't seem like what this monster said was a lie, and other people who have come here to ask for things in exchange for giving something have also always said that what she said was right.

She also has no reason to lie about anything, it seems that my journey ends here. I feel an unpleasant weight in my heart for having failed to save the girl I love.

I can only live the rest of my life with this feeling. I protected millions of innocents, but I failed to save the only one I wanted to have saved.

I leave the candy house and hold my sword, it seems it's time to retire this faithful companion who has followed me on my journey.

...

...

...

Ayla's POV:

"...Tsk, why did he have to come," I feel his presence fading away, soon I throw my mask on the ground and grab a pillow, starting to bite and eat it, savoring the delicious sweet taste.

I've tried various things to become addicted, anything other than sex, even various drugs, but my brain is too efficient, however, I managed to become addicted to sweets.

It's not really something my regeneration needs to heal, so being addicted to sweets solves many of my problems, just like sex with Aetheris leaves me minimally satisfied over time.

"I need to think of something sweeter..." I started wearing the same clothes as Aurora, I liked the outfit, it's beautiful, elegant, and gives an air of grace, like a final boss in a game, which was the image I tried to convey of myself.

I enter the Prism of Infinite Sides to see the 7 being tortured to forget the vision of Uriel, seeing those who made me suffer suffering is a sweet sight.

The first one I see is Asmodeus, the demon of Wrath, his fear is to become incapable of venting his anger.

So his torture is quite unique, I see him trapped in a time constriction, he can only see, but can't do anything, and the magic is regulated to only release his head at specific times.

And at those times, a cursed dagger enters and exits his heart, generating a lot of pain, it's a cursed dagger that converts resistance into pain.

"Asmodeus...I hope you've enjoyed this prison?" I say, watching the dagger about to activate and the magic to release his head.

"YOU BITCH, AS SOON AS I AAAHHRRRRGGG" He lets out a scream before he can curse me, the dagger sinks into and exits his heart as the magic only gives him a momentary freedom, it repeats this for 3 minutes and then stops, and with that he will remain paralyzed for a good while.

"Your eyes have an entertaining despair, it's bad to be stuck in place without being able to die, isn't it?" I say sarcastically as I move on to the next section and soon I'm underwater.

"GLAAARGHHH—BLBLBL—!! AHAHBLLBLGG" I see Beelzebub struggling desperately underwater, the dark and deep sea that has no end either up or down.

"AAHHBBBHH" He sees me and tries to approach, but he doesn't know how to swim properly, he's desperate and completely soaked, while I see the fox tail he normally doesn't show.

"Are you so desperate that you can't even control your form?" I say, completely fine even underwater, I purposely swim a little further away, he's so desperate he can't even use magic.

He thrashes in the water as if he's drowning, even though he's not, in several years none of the 7 have overcome their fears.

"I don't know, but you seem to be crying," I say, seeing the pure terror in his eyes, he barely moves from his spot in the water, and it's funny to see him like this.

"Whoa, calm down," I say mockingly, moving my leg before he reaches it.

"Why don't you use magic? You're so pathetic now, well, I hope you enjoy your stay in the water," I say while I see his terrified gaze as I appear in another completely dry location.

"S-Sis!!! P-PLEASE HELP ME!! G-GET THEM OFF ME!!" I hear Valac's desperate voice, while I see him chained on his knees in a beautiful flowery field where fluffy little balls hop from one side to the other.

The fluffy balls have no eyes, no mouths, no organs, they're just a bunch of living fur, these little things are Valac's fear, the Sphinxes.

"How pathetic, Valac," I say as the Sphinxes approach, I hold one, petting it, they're soft and fluffy.

"AAAHAHHHHHH" He lets out a scream when I throw the creature at him, he struggles in the chains trying to get out, but he can't, these chains are a cursed seal-type item that get stronger based on the target's strength and how much he tries to break them.

"P-PLEASE! GET THEM OFF! AAAHHHGGG" He screams desperately as several jump on him, they're very affectionate little creatures, and honestly, I don't understand why Aurora gave them such ridiculous fears.

"It's funny that you're afraid of living fur balls, you know? Where's all that powerful magic of yours, Valac? You can easily break these chains with your super powerful magic, react," I say, watching as he just struggles against the chains trying to remove the Sphinxes from his body.

"Pff, you're pathetic!"

"S-SORRY OK!! SORRY FOR RAPING AND PLAYING WITH YOU, JUST GET THEM OFF!!! AAAAGGHHH GET THEM OFF!!!" He screams in despair as I just start to switch places.

Soon I appear in the place where Leviathan is, Leviathan's greatest fear is to become the prey that becomes food, so I managed to get him some very special little creatures.

"Are you awake?" I ask, approaching him, Leviathan is lying on the desert floor of a very hot place, while I see sand worms devouring his body.

Sand worms are a parasitic monster that eat the mana and body of the target, that's why Leviathan is so weak, he doesn't have enough mana recovery to overcome the damage and lack of mana.

"H-Help" He speaks in a very hoarse voice, stretching his hand to me, holding my leg.

Either Leviathan uses his power to regenerate or he dies, so he can never fully recover, being trapped in this cycle of being devoured and healing, it took me 4 years to make Leviathan spend all his mana to be able to put the parasites on him.

"GAAARRRRHH" He lets out a mix of a scream of pain and a growl as a sand worm bites his back, opening a circular hole while tearing off a piece of his lung.

"That looks bad, they seem to like your flesh just as much as you liked my blood," I say, kicking his hand away as another sand worm bites his arm, opening a hole.

"H-Help...p-please..." He speaks with tears in his eyes, trying to crawl towards me, it's satisfying to see him begging for help like this.

"Why do you ask for help, Sin of Gluttony, if you are greedy and think everything is on your menu, you should know that you can also be the menu of another being," I say, disappearing from here to check the next one.

Soon I'm in a place made entirely of gold, while I see several crab-like monsters destroying the gold and devouring it, while I see Samael.

"YOU BITCH!! YOU MISERABLE! I'LL KILL YOU! HOW DARE YOU!!" Samael yells at me, his voice full of hatred, Samael has two weaknesses, the first is the laurel rope, an item that takes away his powers, and the second is to see precious metals being completely destroyed.

"Good to see you too," I say, looking at him tied up and hanging from a stone tree, while the crabs destroy and devour the gold, I see Samael crying, which is strange to say the least.

"DON'T EAT THAT, YOU PLAGUE!! IT'S MINE!" He yells at a larger crab that devours a golden item, the gold terrain was made by me, but the things on the surface I took from Samael's room.

"YOU'RE A MONSTER! HOW COULD YOU LET THEM DO THIS!!" He speaks, and I can only think of the irony, soon I being called a monster by a disgusting and cruel monster.

"Cry more, Samael, this is the price of your greed," Soon a large two-meter crab breaks through the ground, creating a hole, it soon devours a golden statue of Samael.

"NOOOOOO YOU MOTHERFUCKER!!" He screams desperately.

"It's ironic, isn't it, the mighty Sin of Greed shares power with his favorite items, and when those items are destroyed, he loses power and vitality," This is his fear, he is slowly dying as the crabs devour his items.

He is basically watching his own death happen without being able to do anything but scream and cry, the crabs are a monster that feeds only on ores and are neutral, only attacking if attacked, soon I move on to the next scenario.

Soon I'm in a volcanic area and see the demon Astaroth of envy foaming at the mouth, his torture affects his psychology quite a bit, which really makes me question the reason for having such simple weaknesses.

"He seems too unconscious to scream," His fear is quite simple, in this volcanic area there is a type of monster that generates Blueng, an interesting mineral that reacts negatively with Astaroth's body.

This stone is also known as the stone of the envious and drains the target's mind based on various things, with Astaroth it's his envy.

In short, Astaroth feels a mental pain as if someone opened his head, slapped and shocked his brain, just to then throw acid in there and close it again.

However, what happens is that when Astaroth loses consciousness, it all comes back to him, and when he wakes up, it all starts to be drained again, the volcanic area also prevents him from crawling up, making him descend towards them every time he tries to escape.

So he's trapped in the cycle of suffering an infernal headache, then passing out, then waking up completely fine only to suffer again and pass out, repeating without end.

"He won't be conscious for a while," I move on to the next scenario, seeing Lucifer in a completely empty area that no matter where you look, it's white.

What Lucifer fears is metaphysical temporal infinite spaces, basically, in a summarized form, a space that has infinite width, thickness, area, and depth all at once, causing a "glitch" in his brain.

I see Lucifer lying on the ground, ceiling, and in various other places, because this place is confusing and you can't correctly say where we are in this visually complex space.

He's crying while trying to crawl, lying down is a way for him to try to stay stable and know the directions, not that it works, since the perspective of lying down is as if you're upside down, falling to the ground while sliding to the right.

"Enjoying it here, Lucifer? I had a lot of trouble creating this place," I say as he looks up, then to the right, then behind, or maybe he's making other movements, I don't even know, I just know he's trying to look where I am.

"T-Take me out of here..." He speaks in a proud but weak tone, while the tears on his face are pathetic.

"Isn't it ridiculous for a grown, proud man to cry like a lost child?" I say as he doesn't know what to do.

"..." He never apologized, that's how he is, soon the environment changes as he has a look of complete horror.

What happened is simple, the concept of exact physical location changed, I see my arm several meters away, my torso in another place, my leg in another, and he's also like that.

We weren't torn to pieces, it's just the perspective that makes us see the world this way, Lucifer seems close to having a mental breakdown as everything gets even more scrambled, in a few minutes it will go back to the previous one before messing it up again.

I don't even like this place, it's so confusing and messy for my brain, and it's also unpleasant to the eyes.

"I'll be going now," I say to him.

"WAIT!! GET ME OUT OF HERE! I..." Before he can speak his desperate words, I disappear, going to where Aurora is.
