I am currently waiting in a room before we start training. The number of people is around 30 or maybe 40, a few of them I don't remember seeing at all from the trials, are they the last trial group that didn't get selected for regulars. I guess you have around 15 on stage at a time so we can have two different teams. The annoying looking blonde girl also got in, she looks fairly lonesome. We locked eyes for a second, which I think I won.
"Hayate, doesn't that girl look like a pain." I say pointing at the blonde girl.
"I heard she was easily the best to pass." Hayate said admiringly, she's meant to be backing me up. So I just need to crush this piece of crap, If I want to be the best in this class. Before reminiscing in my undeserving hatred for this girl, the stern woman from before arrives.
"Welcome to the first meeting for the new Shoshina Group. For everyone's information call me Yahiga I will be in charge of your training sessions and organization. The director of the CX co Idol group and of the training sessions will be Amarno Holland. He likes to, however, be called Sensei. He has luckily come to join us today." she says, spreading her hands sarcastically as a man walks out. And so my brother was telling me the truth. This weird sunglasses guy really is the director of CX co.
He waves his hands about like we are praising him as some amazing guy.
"Hello Everyone, thank you Yahiga," he says, grabbing the microphone. " you know, I heard a rumor the other day. That there will never be another Idol group like the 2013 CX co group D. They say that the chances of having three mega stars going to the same Idol group will probably never happen again. However they are just rumors and I don't know if I'm even up to the trends of kids today. I hope you guys understand that each and everyone of your skills are crap, well that's what I heard I don't really know as I said previously. I also heard a rumor that the CX co training is so hard, that the regulars call it torture day whenever they have training. Once again just another rumor. Well that's me done, enjoy" he says walking away from where he came from.
"He's odd" I say but I think it goes to deaf ears, Hayate seems enthralled by his speech somehow. So I turn around to the person next to me
"He's odd isn't he."
"Sorry were you talking to me", What? it's her, the blonde haired girl next to me.
"Oh sorry I thought you were someone else" I say covering up to randomly talking to her.
"Were you in my group for the trial because I don't remember seeing you in any of the other groups."
"Umm. wait what?" It took me a second to realize. She was having a go at me. She was in group 2 as I recall as the center.
"Were you in group 6 at the back right corner?" I ask innocently. I got her.
"So you did notice me. I don't really remember the trials. It just kinda blended into a normal day I guess. Like I think I was walking out of the school gates and then I realized that this trial was on. Imagine if i had missed it, that would have been so dumb right?" Crap how did she wiggle out of that. She even put the countermeasure to me miraculously remembering where she was. Last resort.
"Well I didn't even show up to the trials, I kind of just got this invitation in the mail."
"Oh how funny, with me, this Guy in a suit randomly came and escorted me here saying that the trial didn't have any talent and that they needed me."
"It was odd when the director visited me at one of my concerts, and then was visited at a hot spring. Then he said I was so talented that I ought to be here to become the center of CX co forever."
"That's similar to me. Hataya came to me one day while I was practicing my ballet skills telling me that they need someone to help her carry the burden of CX co"
"I was eating cereal with Mayaki Dancho, who was in my house."
"Tayaki was talking to me in my room about joining CX"
"Shut up" says a girl in front of us.
"It was her" The blonde girl next to me says
"Always wanting the last word I see"
"Isn't it you who had the last word?" she says. I look at her now you've had the last word. 'haha ' I win loser.
"Okay now the two different centers for the two groups will be Hina and Sayaki" the stern lady calls out. The girl in front of me stands up and the girl to my right, noooo. She looks at me smugly. I completely hold my emotions, still appearing cool. Hayate gives Sanaka a concerned look.
"And for the backing people it will be…"
Crap so I ended up being in the same group as the Pig tails girl (she knows her name just doesn't acknowledge it). First we have dance lessons apparently, something I will of course strive at.
….
We go through training. I thought that once I got in it would be fairly smooth training however, that did not end well. I am exhausted beyond belief, my lungs hurting like hell, and yet I couldn't keep up. In fact I was useless against that stupid pig tail girl. I won't lose to such an idiot like that again.
But then an ingenious idea hit me. I smile to myself at my own brilliance.
The next day for our dance practice, that girls shoes should feel a bit weird. I watch as she tries to put them on. Naturally I don't look in order to avoid suspicion. Yet she puts the shoes on fine, not even complaining one bit.
The dance rehearsal starts, she's at the front of the pack dancing well. Hayate is next to me and she is doing pretty well. I'm not really paying attention to my dancing. I expect this girl to stop any second. Those shoes are three sizes too small. I expect her to give up but she doesn't know how the hell could this be. Her dancing is in fact better than it normally is.
"Everyone looks sloppy, make sure to follow Sayaki better." calls the stern lady. How the hell are we meant to follow her? Her movements seem too fast.
"Well Hayate is doing a good job" the Lady makes a comment as she moves away from them. Everyone looks at Hayate for a second, me being next to her also gets some of the glances. We start up again, and it seems the person is right, Hayate's movements seem to follow Sayate's so naturally. So now Hayate is also making me look bad. Dancing lessons are a complete failure in terms of everything.
However singing practice will be of course different. I have changed the words on her page, this will hundred percent work. We stand in the studio together to practice singing. Everyone with a separate microphone. As center she goes first.
The song starts to play. the new and improved lyrics are not what you call conventional lyrics.
"The sky says shoo, but I know it's you." She sings them with a weird confidence, like this is meant to be an energetic song, not a love song. So then Yahiga will think Sayaki improvised badly.
But instead of the womens voice I hear the Director's voice. Bingo even better.
"Okay everyone change the lyrics to that. Good improvise Sayaki" Sayaki smiles smugly. What the hell? Okay if he wants improvisation then I will show him improvisation.
"Okay stop, that is crap, do not try and improvise again Sanaka"
what the hell. When was he so mean, why the hell did he have to say that. I have finally realized, I can't use tricks to get myself into the number 1 spot it seems. This girl is simply to dumb to be fooled by anything . However unlike her I have the book, over this weekend I'll come back a machine of pure destruction.
…
"That girl needs to focus on herself " Yahiga says to the Director as she sits next him while watching the singing.
"I beg to differ." the director says, relighting his cigar.
"what ?"
"Nevermind."
"But she's completely outclassed, Sayaki is, I hate to say it, a natural. But not only that someone that works harder than the rest. She could become a big star "
"And yet she fears Sanaka, you can see she savors every time Sanaka loses. Why would you, their abilities are so different?"
"Because Sayaki just has that sort of personality"
This time the man stands up turning towards the window.
"You remember Mayaki and Tayaki quite well. Do you not?" the woman nods as it is a pretty stupid question , the man unable to see her nod knows the answer.
A smile crosses his face.
"Mayaki was always a slow learner"
