For Ronan, Odin choosing death wasn't the only way to solve things.
For instance, they could fake Odin's death, then release the seal on Hela, teaching Thor a lesson.
He's the God of Thunder, not the God of Hammers.
But Odin seemed dead-set on this self-sacrificing idea to make Thor grow.
Of course, maybe it's also because Odin's lifespan was nearing its end, and even if he had ways to extend it, he didn't want to bother.
After all, him staying on the throne wasn't exactly good news for Thor.
Asgard's people needed a real king.
Not an old king stepping down to let a new one take over.
So that's why Ronan respected Odin's call.
Of course, there was another reason too.
Ronan had some fresh intel.
That suit he'd left with Tony Stark? Tony had figured some stuff out.
Truth is, Ronan had always been a fan of Tony Stark's way of thinking.
Tech + Magic.
To some folks, those two things might as well be from different planets.
But to others, they're prime research material.
That's why, after learning Ronan's true identity, Tony Stark got hooked on this whole deal.
Before, he didn't buy into magic because everything around him could be explained with science.
Steve Rogers had superhuman strength, fighting skills, and stamina—thanks to a scientifically engineered Super Soldier Serum.
Bruce Banner could turn into the Hulk—gamma radiation mutation, plain and simple.
As for the "Thunder God" Thor from Norse tales? Turned out he was just an alien from off-world.
All of it had a scientific angle.
But ever since Ronan showed up, Tony Stark's worldview got a total rebuild.
He saw a guy wave his hand and open a portal to anywhere on Earth—or even the cosmos.
He saw someone use magic to predict and peek into the future.
For a science diehard like Tony Stark, that was a hell of a blow.
But Tony Stark had one killer trait.
He adapted fast.
Sure, Ronan's arrival flipped his worldview, but he rolled with it quick and started mulling over how to blend magic with tech.
Back when Ronan slapped some runes onto an Iron Man suit, it was just a basic first stab.
Now, Tony Stark had a whole new game plan.
New York, Stark Tower.
Ronan stood in the middle of Tony Stark's lab, eyeing a brand-new Iron Man suit, his gaze full of shock.
Because he was staring at something downright unbelievable.
This Iron Man suit had the rune patterns he'd etched before.
But here's the kicker—these weren't carved by Ronan himself. Tony Stark had replicated them.
That's right, it was a knockoff.
"This is my latest breakthrough—tech and magic, first steps together."
Tony Stark pointed at the Iron Man suit beside him, not even trying to hide the brag in his voice.
He masked it well, but his tone and face gave him away.
"You just copied the runes I carved."
"But without any mana to back it up, even with those runes, it's probably not doing much, right?"
Ronan studied the Iron Man suit, raising an eyebrow.
Sure, Kamar-Taj's runes could be copied, but actually activating them? Not so simple.
When Ronan carved runes, he'd infuse them with his own mana to kickstart them.
When attacked, the runes would light up, blocking whatever came their way.
Ronan even threw in a little extra flair.
When fending off energy-based attacks, the runes would soak up some of that energy to keep running.
And before this, Tony Stark had done a bit of tinkering himself.
He'd wired the runes into his suit's electrical power.
In simple terms, the suit's energy could feed into the runes, boosting their defense.
At the same time, energy the runes absorbed could convert into electricity, juicing up the Iron Man suit.
Getting that far was already damn impressive.
According to Tony, the idea came from way back during his scrap with Thor.
Thor called down lightning, zapped the Iron Man suit.
But JARVIS, his AI, clocked the suit's energy spiking to 400%.
That's how he cracked this "power-sharing" trick.
Still, that "sharing" was tough, but compared to the state of this suit now? Totally different ballgame.
What Tony Stark was out to prove here was activation!
Yup, this was a brand-new rune setup.
No mana from Ronan to get it rolling.
Tony wanted to spark it up purely with electricity or some other energy source.
This was practically a whole new system.
"Then hit it and find out."
Tony Stark flashed a grin, stepping aside a couple paces.
"Of course, don't go too hard—I've only got this one finished piece right now."
As he backed off, Tony added a little heads-up.
You could tell he had serious faith in his "creation."
Ronan raised an eyebrow.
Since Tony Stark was so sure, Ronan wasn't about to argue.
With a slight flick of his right hand, a small Ring of Raggadorr shot out from his grip.
Boom!
The Ring of Raggadorr slammed into the Iron Man suit at lightning speed.
Tony Stark's eyes locked onto the suit, looking a little tense.
Maybe he wasn't that confident after all.
Right then, a red glow flared up across the suit's surface.
Only when that glow popped did a smile break across Tony's face.
The Ring of Raggadorr crashed into the red light, kicking up a solid racket.
Next thing you know, a round shield etched with runes materialized.
It was the defensive rune Ronan had designed.
Tony Stark actually pulled it off!
"That's the rune, alright."
"Looks like you've really got something here."
Ronan shot a surprised glance at Tony Stark.
He wasn't mad—not even a little ticked that Kamar-Taj's magic got "jacked."
Back in the Ancient One's day, she taught anyone who'd learn.
As long as you could find Kamar-Taj, you could pretty much study magic.
Tony Stark was human—he wasn't an exception.
That's always been Kamar-Taj's vibe.
"Honestly, it's that suit you brought me that sparked the new ideas."
"And besides this, I've got another find!"
