Golden Eyes had left early in the morning, yet he hadn't returned by evening.
Wendy and the others were getting restless, suspecting that Golden Eyes might have decided to abandon them and leave on his own after completing his mission.

As she stood up, however, there was suddenly noise from the tunnel again.
