Fu Jingcun beamed, leaning on his cane as he prepared to stand up, assisted by Uncle Wang.
The others at the table also rose to their feet.
All eyes were drawn to the entrance in unison.
Jiang Mian, arm in arm with Fu Sichen, looked the picture of a loving couple.
Fu Sichen leaned in slightly, whispering with a smile close to Jiang Mian's ear, "Mrs. Fu, there's no need to hold on quite so tightly for the act."

It seemed she might have overdone it a bit.
Her lips curved into a subtle smile as she replied softly, "It's fine, the image is set firmly for today."
After the pair entered, they brushed past the people below, and Jiang Mian stepped forward to assist Fu Jingcun, "Grandpa Fu, have you been waiting long?"
Fu Jingcun looked at his granddaughter-in-law, still as endearing as ever, his eyes creased into joyful lines, "Not long at all. You must have had a tiring journey. Grandpa has prepared a meal; it's all your and Xiao Chen's favorites."
