Sir Nighteye had predicted that Midoriya Izuku would try to break Shigaraki Tomura out of prison. That's why he had already stationed Togata Mirio here in advance.
Just as Midoriya was about to free Shigaraki Tomura, Mirio struck first, knocking Kurogiri out before he could open a portal.

Shigaraki Tomura, supporting an unconscious Kurogiri, simply stood there watching. He didn't bother stepping in—he couldn't win against that monster called Togata Mirio anyway. Besides, he didn't mind seeing Midoriya Izuku suffer. That kid had always rubbed him the wrong way.
"Mirio… Midoriya…"
All Might arrived and opened his mouth, but he didn't know what to say. Should he ask Togata Mirio to let Midoriya go? That wasn't possible anymore. Midoriya was now the most dangerous "enemy" the heroes had to capture. Even if it pained All Might, he couldn't make a mistake here—this was the best chance they had to take Midoriya down.
"All Might… you're here…"
Barely holding himself up, Midoriya Izuku faced an overwhelming defeat against Togata Mirio. With both *Permeation* and *One For All* at his disposal, Mirio had completely dominated the fight. "Why are you protecting him, All Might?! Just because he's the grandson of the seventh *One For All* holder—because of your master—he gets special treatment?!"
Trapped in an inescapable situation because he had tried to help All Might, Midoriya couldn't hold back his emotions anymore.
Why was Shigaraki Tomura—Shimura Tenko—being protected?

"It's true. That man told me himself. If I really wanted to help All Might, all I had to do was bring your head back with me."
Midoriya's chilling words made Shigaraki Tomura collapse to his knees, stunned.
Togata Mirio and All Might didn't hesitate.
They lunged at Midoriya Izuku without holding back.
They couldn't afford to wait even a second longer.
That terrifying future… is closing in!!
