Wade paused slightly in his steps, then walked in under the watchful eyes of Lucius Malfoy and Mr. Crabbe Sr.
"Wade?"
Dumbledore stepped forward to greet him, "I assume you've brought what I requested?"
"Yes," Wade replied.
His words shifted Crabbe Sr.'s attention, while Narcissa Malfoy kept her hand on Draco's back and silently comforted him.
But Wade could feel Lucius Malfoy's cold gaze fixed upon him.
Like a chilling water serpent.
"Dumbledore…"
Malfoy said icily, "Why bring an unrelated person in here? I wasn't informed that Wade Grey was one of the concerned parties."
"You've come at a fortunate time," Dumbledore said. "Just today, Wade has introduced one of his new inventions—"
At these words, all the adults, except for Snape, turned to look at the boy.
"—He has improved the two-way mirror technology to create an alchemical product capable of recording visuals. What do they call it? Ah, yes, a magical television."
Dumbledore nodded to himself as if just recalling the term, then looked at the two families.
Draco's complexion turned paler and paler.
Dumbledore continued:
"Young Mr. Malfoy has been highly resistant to having a Priori Incantato spell performed on his wand… Of course, I am merely a headmaster, without any law enforcement authority."
"Although the Minister of Magic should be in the Great Hall at this moment, you have also declined the option of having officials or Aurors from the Ministry conduct a fair resolution.
In that case, we can review the footage recorded by the streaming mirror to see what truly happened at the time."
"What are your opinions?"
He asked, graciously leaving the decision to the parents of both parties.
Malfoy's expression flickered.
He hadn't received an invitation to the Hogwarts Challenge nor heard of any rumors regarding this "Streaming mirror" invention. He didn't know if Dumbledore's claim was true.
But since the inventor was Wade Grey… the possibility of it being real was indeed significant.
And if such an invention truly existed… What were the odds it happened to record the confrontation involving Draco and his group?
If they insisted on refusing to play the footage, it would undeniably seem as though they had something to hide. But if it had indeed been recorded…
When there was no evidence, it was still possible to deny everything. They could claim it was Dumbledore's plot to divide them or blame it on some other student striking from the shadows.
But if there was concrete evidence, the Malfoy family would have to pay a steep price.
Malfoy weighed this in his mind, not turning to look at his wife and son.
Narcissa had always spoiled Draco, but Malfoy knew his own son all too well. The moment he saw Draco at school, Malfoy immediately realized the boy must have caused serious trouble.
Before he could make a decision, he heard Crabbe Snr. speak in a hoarse voice:
"This is troublesome, Dumbledore... I'd also like to know who did this to my Vincent."
Malfoy looked at Crabbe and saw that his usual lackey now wore a grim expression. He avoided Malfoy's gaze, and showed no intention of exchanging thoughts.
Malfoy's heart sank.
"Of course, as the father of a victim, your opinion will naturally be respected in this matter."
Dumbledore turned to Wade and said with a steady tone: "Thank you for your hard work, Wade."
Wade stepped forward, enlarged a sub-mirror to the size of a full-length dressing mirror, then took out the main mirror. He pointed his wand at the mirror's surface and murmured an incantation, and the images on the mirror began to rewind rapidly.
The others watched the sub-mirror intently. After a flurry of flickering images, several familiar figures appeared and began playing at normal speed.
Wade lowered his wand, slipped the main mirror into his pocket, and stepped aside to stand quietly.
Suddenly, Professor Snape glanced over and his eyes shifted slightly as if to signal Wade to leave the main mirror and quietly depart.
Wade pretended not to notice, and then put his hands into his pockets and shuffled even farther to the side, minimizing his presence.
The head of Slytherin House, who was dressed all in black, wore an expression of icy terror, but Wade avoided meeting his gaze again.
Wade was curious about how this incident had unfolded… and how it would eventually be resolved.
The alchemical puppet bird that captured the footage had been somewhat distant, so the mirror conveyed sounds of rustling leaves in the wind, flapping wings, and faint cries and screams from afar.
However, it was impossible to make out what the group of young wizards was saying.
Although magic could amplify specific sounds, it seemed that everyone present had overlooked this. They simply frowned, and watched the scenes in the mirror.
A group of six appeared to have just escaped from some kind of monster, and were running frantically. Daphne suddenly tripped and fell, causing the others to stop and help her up before they all rested, panting heavily.
They looked utterly disheveled, and the atmosphere between them was strained.
Their rest didn't last long before Vincent Crabbe started arguing with Draco Malfoy. The argument escalated into shoving and then an all-out brawl.
Despite Draco's usual arrogant demeanor, his thin, frail frame was no match for Vincent.
Tall and burly, Vincent's sheer weight pinned Draco down, preventing him from getting up. Vincent gritted his teeth and landed several heavy punches.
The others pulled them apart. Zabini and the others seemed to be blaming Vincent, but Vincent suddenly shouted a few words at them, causing Zabini and the rest to reluctantly let go with grim expressions.
Daphne and Pansy stepped in to stop the fight, but the boys weren't holding back. Vincent accidentally struck Daphne in the face with his elbow. Blood immediately streamed from her nose, and she fell to the ground.
Suddenly, a house-elf appeared like a ghost. Ignoring the two boys fighting, it silently whisked away Daphne, who was bleeding heavily from her nose.
Pansy, who had also been knocked down, jumped back up instantly and shoved Vincent and yelled something at him with a ferocious expression.
Although Pansy wasn't unattractive, when her face contorted with rage, she looked terrifying—like a wild beast. For a moment, Crabbe was stunned.
At this point, Draco, still lying on the ground, suddenly lifted his head. He pulled out his wand and shouted something. A beam of black light shot out, striking Vincent.
Vincent's movements and anger seemed to freeze all at once. He stood stiffly for a moment, his face twisted with pain, and then collapsed without warning.
Where he fell, something large and grotesque suddenly appeared—a sight that should have been censored. Blood began spreading across the ground.
Pansy screamed at the top of her lungs, and the others were utterly stunned, paralyzed by shock.
In stark contrast, Draco's reaction was one of frantic terror. He dropped his wand immediately and backed away in a panic.
"Enough!"
Lucius Malfoy suddenly stood up and pointed his wand. The images on the mirror vanished.
Dumbledore let out a deep sigh, and then looked at Draco with an indescribable expression.
"The Entrail-Expelling Curse…"
He said slowly, "I don't recall the school ever teaching you such a spell."
