Leslie's POV:
I was still in shock—damn, I had forgotten so much. Where do I even begin? The memories rushed at me, each one sharper and more painful than the last. The fact that my first mate raped me? How I was almost executed for a crime I didn't even know I'd committed? How my father—a man who should have loved and protected me—was the one who betrayed me the most?
The memories churned in my mind like a storm I couldn't escape. My breath hitched as the emotions welled up in my chest. Damien's Beta. He had almost killed me too. His hands, rough and unrelenting, holding me down, demanding to know why I had dared to come into his territory as a rogue. My mind flashed to that moment—his eyes cold, as if I was nothing but a threat to eliminate. If not for the mysterious scent that seemed to hold him back, wanting answers, I wouldn't be here. I could still feel the way my skin burned where he'd touched me, tortured me, trying to force the truth out of me.
