"Ahhh!" Daisy suddenly screamed, the sharp cry cutting through the quiet room like a knife. All heads whipped around, eyes locking onto her. Just when the crowd had started to lose interest and mind their own business, her outburst pulled them back in—especially since it seemed she wasn't lying after all.
"Ahhh! My arm! That hurts!" Daisy cried again, tears suddenly welling up in her eyes.
Poppi jerked her hands away in panic, stepping back as if Daisy's cries had physically burned her. She stared at Daisy in disbelief. How dare she cry out like that? And in public, no less! She might as well have sprouted wings and started flying.
Was this girl serious? Crying? Out loud? In front of everyone?
