The next day —
In the afternoon, Arwen was getting ready to go out. Since she didn't have plans of going to the company, she had dressed herself in a blue fitted flared jeans and a classy white shirt — more casual than usual.
Putting on her usual scent, she turned around to look, but the room felt unusually empty.
Walking out, she looked around, but she couldn't find any trace. Crossing the corridor, she was about to descend the steps when she spotted the butler.
"Mr. Jones," she called, and the man turned in her direction.
"Yes, Madam?"
"Did you see Aiden?" Her eyes darted to look around, but again, she wasn't even in the living room.
"Sir is in his study," Mr. Jones responded, adding. "I had sent someone to bring him the tea there. He seems to be working."
Arwen pressed her lips in a thin line. He was working again. Was it so difficult for him to take rest for even two days straight? She shook her head internally at the thought.
