The last night of the tournament got off to a spectacular start. Not only was there a fireworks show at the beginning, but the opening singer also performed a song written by Bulma.
'Sound of Life.' Although it was not her work, she brought this piece of music into the world and enjoyed hearing it again. The nostalgia she felt when she heard it resonated with her and her Plant self.
This song also left an incredible mark on Vash Stampede and his brother, Knives Millions. They were both humanoid Plants who transcended humanity, yet were still attached to it in some way.
The singer conveyed the song's deeper meaning well, provoking tears in Bulma due to the emotions it evoked.
She wasn't the only one; many people enjoyed the song and were carried away by it. Tsuru, who had been angry for two days because of his two students' defeats, felt a brief pang of remorse while listening to the song.
'Was I too hard on them?' the old man asked himself before hardening his heart.
He may have been Muten Roshi's life-and-death companion, but he had disliked him for decades, even centuries. Their negative feelings were no longer simply caused by defeat or competitiveness; they were pure hatred.
Having his disciples lose to members of the Turtle School was unbearable for him! He expelled all three of them. Yes, even the little witch who was always with Ten Shin Han, because he didn't want failures in his school.
Although he was angry about the defeat of his former apprentices, his pettiness was kept in check, at least for now. He couldn't do anything about those brats during the tournament, especially with so many people, especially fighters, present.
But the desire to cut down the future of the Turtle School had taken root in his bitter heart. He just had to pick the perfect time and avoid Muten Roshi and Bulma; he felt they were too dangerous to his plans.
"Maybe we and my brother should accept that strange request from the Red Ribbon Army..." Tsuru muttered to himself from the stands. He looked enviously at all the popularity the fighters of this new generation enjoyed.
...
"After that wonderful musical performance, it's time to start the final night of the tournament! We won't have to wait long; the next fighters will appear on screen!"
Son Goku vs. Krillin, that was the announcement that appeared for all to see, and the announcer seemed to get very excited to see this, so he looked at Muten Roshi, who had a serious expression on his face.
"Wow, Master Roshi! It looks like two of your disciples are about to clash. Do you have anything to say?" The announcer's question caused Roshi to nod.
"I hope they give their all in the fight. I hope they learn from each other. I hope they grow together and that no one is left behind," Roshi said with nostalgia in his voice. He was remembering things from his past that made him say those words.
"It's always good for apprentices to fight each other. They can evaluate their problems and help each other correct them," said Whis, who was more accustomed to his role as commentator.
"It's like Mr. Whis says! Only by fighting can partners from the same school help each other. Now, the two fighters are coming up to the arena. Neither seems nervous; they're even chatting with each other," commented the presenter. Indeed, they were.
Goku and Krillin chose to walk into the arena together, sharing a moment. There was no nervousness between them, but each exuded a strong desire to fight.
"I've always wanted to fight you, Goku," Krillin said, touching the blank space where his nose should have been.
"I've heard stories and comments about you from Master Roshi and Master Gohan, so I couldn't help but imagine what would happen if we fought." Krillin bumped his fists together as he said those words, somewhat flustered by Goku's reaction. However, Goku simply patted his shoulder and laughed.
"Me too! You're an interesting person. I'd like to exchange tips with you. That's what people used to say when they fought, right?
Grandpa told me a lot of strange stories. I still don't understand what 'Courting Death' is, but it sounds like a cool phrase." Goku quickly changed the subject, which made Krillin laugh and relax.
"I can see why others say you're a nice person, Goku. If Bulma is like a hugging sun, then you are like the morning sun." This was Krillin's thought as he finally arrived at the arena with Goku.
Both young men quickly took their fighting stances. Their desire for battle materialized in their respective auras: Crimson for Goku's and flaming orange for Krillin's. Though the confrontation had not yet begun, their presence grew stronger as their power levels increased.
"It seems the young ones are always lively!" Muten Roshi exclaimed with a warm smile, before shouting again.
"Begin!" With that command, the gong that always initiated the start of the fights was struck, and the arena shook with its sound.
"Master Roshi expects us to give it our all, Goku!" Krillin said excitedly. His aura grew stronger, causing a gradual temperature rise.
"Fine! When it's you, you have no problem giving it your all, Krillin!" Goku replied. The crimson aura on his body fluctuated strangely, and those who could sense ki noticed its peculiarity.
Emotions. Goku's aura was bathed in emotions such as pride, happiness, and an intense desire to fight. The two fighters locked gazes for a moment before their figures disappeared.
They reappeared in midair, each having punched the other in the face. Instead of complaining, they smiled and exchanged punches and kicks. Their bodies moved all over the arena, causing booming sounds and sparks of energy to fly freely with each collision.
Neither held back, and over time, an image of a large, brown-haired monkey appeared behind Goku. This caused great strain on the arena and the island itself.
This allowed Goku to access the dormant power within him in a controlled manner. At that moment, he overpowered Krillin, hitting him hard in the abdomen and sending him to the ground.
Krillin's back hit the sand, opening a crater, but he pointed both hands forward and shot a stream of yellow energy with golden electric arcs around the edges. As Goku flew to dodge the attack, it split into small fragments that increased in speed and bombarded the Saiyan's body from several angles, covering him in dense smoke.
Krillin knew that he could perhaps eliminate weaker enemies with something like this, but not Goku. Still, it gave him enough time to stand up and fly. Then, he began to give it his all.
If his fellow apprentices had their own Ki projection, why wouldn't he? Behind him, a huge figure with three faces, six arms, and orange skin tending to red appeared. The entire arena was suddenly filled with an unbearable heat, but luckily, it did not spread to the audience, demonstrating Krillin's control over his power.
However, Krillin felt particularly uncomfortable as his body reached temperatures that were difficult even for him to bear. Nevertheless, he did not wince.
Sensing the sudden change in the atmosphere, a roar was heard from the smoke, and Goku appeared in front of everyone. A honeycomb-like red ki shield surrounded him, which he had created at the last moment.
The Ozaru projection behind him thumped his chest as he opened his huge mouth, aiming directly at Krillin. An energy cannon fired from its jaws, but Krillin was ready this time.
The ki projection behind him brought two of his hands forward to create a shield similar to Goku's. This technique was common knowledge between them, so Krillin could use it as well.
He raised two other hands upward, and yellow ki began to accumulate in them, forming a flat disc that rotated at high speed. The buzzing sound caused by this rotation was quite high-pitched, and Goku felt the hair on his tail bristle from the perceived danger.
The last pair of arms came together in a prayer gesture, then parted slightly. In the space between their palms, an orb of orange energy formed that emitted intense heat.
"You want to go all out?" Goku stopped attacking Krillin. Although there was a confident smile on his face, his gaze became serious.
"Of course I do! You have interesting techniques. Why not use them?" Krillin asked before blocking Goku with his ki perception, ready to attack.
"You asked for it," Goku muttered. A wave of red energy erupted from his body and impacted his surroundings.
All of the red aura in Goku's body concentrated in his right fist, compressing and compacting. As more energy was combined, the red became much deeper in color, as if it were blood.
Goku deposited emotions into this energy as well, adding not only his pride and happiness to fight, but also his expectations. He wanted to see how his techniques would compete against Krillin's.
"Looks like the youngsters want to finish this match with no regrets!" the announcer exclaimed, raising expectations for the upcoming clash of attacks.
Muten Roshi said nothing, but he held the black hat he always wore with a suit in his hands. He was a little nervous about the fight between his apprentices. But his eyes were happy because he noticed that they did not get along badly. In that sense, perhaps he surpassed his master Mutaito, right?
Meanwhile, Whis looked at Goku. He already knew about this boy. At first, seeing a Saiyan on Earth alarmed him a bit. But, at that moment, he recognized the purity in the young man's spirit, and that brought back memories.
'Yamoshi, it seems your descendants can shine again.' Whis noticed a special power growing slowly within Goku. Perhaps it would take many years to mature, but it was a promising sign.
Perhaps the universe will be tinged again with the golden aura of a Saiyan in the future. This thought made Whis lean back in his seat, ignoring the rich dessert he had been eating, eager to see how the fight would end.
"Kienzan!
"Ozaru's Fist!"
The two young men unleashed their attacks on each other with great shouts. The two yellow discs sliced through the air straight toward Goku. However, the Saiyan's energy fist hit both of Ki's attacks hard.
Ki's arm was not unscathed; it lost a few pieces of its form. Still, he was able to overcome and continue traveling towards Krillin, holding the orange sphere between his projected hands.
"I don't think your attack will withstand this! Burning Sun!" Krillin released the orange ball of energy from his Ki projection, and it expanded into a giant ball.
The giant energy ball collided head-on with Goku's energy fist. Although there was resistance for a few seconds, Krillin's attack ultimately prevailed, shattering Goku's energy fist.
Following the confrontation, only a quarter of the energy from the attack remained. Krillin pushed it toward Goku, who had a savagely smiling face. His right hand was covered in ki, but instead of being crimson, it was blue.
"Final Spirit Cannon!" As if history were repeating itself in another form, a small jet of blue energy faced off against an attack that appeared to be a star.
Goku didn't know why he had had such a strange dream in the past, but he could see his father in a similar situation, and, to the best of his ability, he managed to launch the attack that was now his turn to launch.
But, unlike in the dream and its sad ending, the thin jet of blue energy pierced the huge sphere of hot energy and hit Krillin full on.
Although Krillin defended himself effectively, his body was pushed upward. He tried to channel his Ki into his hands to stop the impact of his opponent's attack, but could only deflect it to the side.
The Ki beam pierced the ground and eventually broke apart into tiny particles of light. Suddenly, the announcer's voice interrupted Krillin's thoughts.
"Fighter Krillin has exceeded the 50-meter height limit, so he has been disqualified! The winner of tonight's first match is Son Goku!" The announcer's words made all the color drain from Krillin's body.
"HAHAHAHA! I almost lost. Krillin, you should be more aware of your surroundings." Goku flew toward his friend, confidently putting his hand around Krillin's neck. Krillin reacted.
"Damn it, Goku! That's cheating!" Krillin complained, but the smile on his face indicated that he wasn't really angry, despite his tone.
"It's in the rules! Haha!" Goku burst out laughing, and, infected by the Saiyan's good humor, Krillin burst out laughing as well.
Their laughter marked the beginning of the final night of the tournament!

AN: The Q&A still! Write on this paragraph a question! Only about this fanfic or another story I have upload in this site. You can try a personal question, but maybe I won't answer it.
I will answer the question of Morg535: Will the Chrono trigger crew make an appearance due to time travel shenanigans? My answer is... maybe! Bulma in this Fanfic checked some information about other timelines, maybe she can find them. And if you think it, Lucca is a parallel Bulma xD.
