Outside of Cassie's room, Serena stuck to Julian, sobbing into his arms refusing to leave his side. His sister had offered to show her to a room, but she insisted on staying close to Cassie.
"Julian, it's late and you should get some rest, I'll handle things here and keep Serena company." Susan insisted.
Serena's clutch tightened, "Are you leaving me all alone?" She sniffled, "Cassie would be heartbroken once she regains consciousness if she finds out her father left her side."
Susan frowned, "Her fiancé is still in there isn't he? She'll understand that my brother's health is at risk. He'll be back tomorrow morning-"
"It's fine Susan, I said I'd wait here until Cassie regained her consciousness. It's my fault that this mess happened in the first place." He turned to Serena.
"But brother-"
He cut her off with a gentle smile, "I used to do this for Kayden too, it only makes sense I do it for Cassie as well." He reasoned.
