Chapter 339 - Chapter 339: This Is a Mythical Dragon

"Tsk tsk, I thought Dylan would maybe bring out a few common legendaries at most, but bringing out Reshiram for the fourth round? Man's not holding back at all."

On the Indigo Plateau, Green crossed his arms, clicking his tongue in amazement. That was serious firepower.

If Dylan was already using Reshiram as his fourth Pokémon, it meant he was going all in.

"Looks like he's going for a clean sweep. Did Leon do something to piss Dylan off?"

Officer Jenny's regional commander tilted her head. Given the way things were going, Leon might really end up completely swept.

Because let's be honest—if Dylan had intended to throw Leon a bone, he'd have done it at the start. Letting him win a late round would just be disrespectful.

Now that four of Leon's core Pokémon had been beaten—easily, at that—there was no turning back.

If Dylan purposely lost now, it'd be an insult to Leon.

"Dylan's probably trying to make a name for himself worldwide in one shot."

President Goodshow chuckled, proud and satisfied with Dylan's performance.

Yes, this was what a Champion of Kanto was supposed to look like—utterly dominant.

Wyndon Stadium.

"My fifth Pokémon... is this one."

Dylan flicked his hand, tossing out his fifth Luxury Ball.

"Dialga—battle ready!"

A flash of white light, and a massive blue dinosaur-like Pokémon crashed down in front of him.

Those blood-red eyes stared coldly down at Leon, a soft bluish aura pulsing around its armored body.

A heavy divine pressure began to fill the arena, suffocating the air itself. All chatter ceased.

"Wait—that Pokémon is?!"

Brandon's eyes widened at the sight of the overwhelmingly majestic beast.

That pressure—it far surpassed even Reshiram!

"Dialga! One of the mythical dragons from ancient legends. The dragon of time."

Leaf smiled brilliantly, pride coloring every word.

Yes—Dialga's official classification was the Temporal Pokémon. Calling it the Dragon of Time was no exaggeration.

"Time… dragon?"

Brandon's face twitched. What the hell did that even mean? A dragon that controls time?!

That's a bit much, isn't it?

Bzzt—Dialga. Steel/Dragon-type. Temporal Pokémon.

Ability: Pressure.

Moves: …

Info: In the Hisui region, legends say that when this god was born, time itself began to flow like a great river.

Hearing the Rotom Dex's explanation, Brandon was stunned.

He was a history buff, after all. Hisui? That was just the ancient name for Sinnoh.

But this? The Pokédex literally used the words "this god."

Brandon made a mental note—he really needed to check out Sinnoh's ruins again.

"Eh?"

Leaf and Lillie exchanged a look. The Rotom Dex's wording was different from what they'd heard before.

But that made sense—Dylan had loaded multiple sources of Pokédex data, so regional entries varied.

Sinnoh, Spear Pillar.

"Dialga?!"

Cynthia froze, completely stunned.

She had always been deeply passionate about ancient ruins and myths—her whole life involved archaeological digs and exploring temples.

So of course she knew Dialga. It was one of Sinnoh's most revered legendary Pokémon.

But… when had Dylan caught Dialga?

"Dialga, one of Sinnoh's mythical gods. Champion Leon, its power far surpasses Reshiram's."

Dylan offered the explanation casually but sincerely.

Leon was still staring at Dialga's towering form, overwhelmed by its divine presence.

But hearing Dylan's words, he couldn't help rolling his eyes.

Thanks, I guess? Like that helps me do anything about it.

The crowd exploded again. Yet another legendary dragon!

"Dragapult."

After some thought, Leon threw out one of his aces.

A swift flash of white, and the Ghost/Dragon-type Dragapult from Galar floated before him, fixing a sharp gaze on Dialga.

But Dialga? Those crimson eyes didn't so much as blink. It looked down from above, unbothered, detached—like a deity surveying mortals.

"Champion Leon, did you know? Dialga is… special. Extremely special."

Dylan adjusted his collar, smiling lightly.

"I'd love to hear more," Leon said honestly.

His instincts and the pressure he felt both confirmed it: this Pokémon wasn't just strong—it was something else entirely.

"I can't go into too much detail here," Dylan replied, "but how about I show you… its true form?"

He glanced at Dialga with a grin.

"Dialga!"

The Dragon of Time raised its head and let out a thunderous roar that echoed across the skies.

Its body glowed with an ethereal blue light—and began to change.

Before the stunned crowd, a new, transformed Dialga emerged.

Origin Dialga.

A majestic, deep-blue beast—its body now sleeker, almost deer-like in posture, with a hammer-shaped neck and fan-like structures on its back.

The pressure it emitted grew exponentially, causing many to instinctively hold their breath.

"W-what is this…?"

Leon's voice was low. There was something about this new form… so overwhelmingly divine it inspired reverence.

This wasn't a battle anymore—this was witnessing a god descend.

Bzzt—Dialga (Origin Form). Steel/Dragon-type. Temporal Pokémon.

Ability: Pressure.

Info: Light was the catalyst for this transformation. The strength it displays in this form makes many believe this is its true, creator-like appearance.

The Rotom Dex explained in an eerily calm tone.

"Rotom, what's a 'creator'?"

Brandon perked up. His curiosity was off the charts now.

"I dunno, Roto~! I just read what Dylan gave me!"

The Rotom threw up its hands innocently.

"Wow…" Lillie gazed up at Origin Dialga.

Even if it wasn't conventionally more beautiful than Reshiram, the divinity it radiated was overwhelming.

So… this was Dialga's true form?

"Nice."

Dylan nodded with satisfaction.

Originally, Origin Dialga's transformation required the Adamant Crystal—only found in the Legends: Arceus and Scarlet/Violet games.

Of course, he hadn't had one… until the simulation system gifted him one after training.

Super convenient.

"Dragapult, Dragon Darts!"

Leon took a deep breath and launched the first move.

He knew full well this Origin Dialga wasn't something he could truly handle.

But this was a battle. He was Leon.

Dragapult inhaled deeply. The two Dreepy in its head fins glowed with energy, ready to launch.

Yup—Leon's Dragapult used real Dreepy for its signature move, unlike Dylan's simulated ones.

There were pros and cons—real Dreepy could adjust their trajectory midair, making for flexible strikes. But if they were caught, Dragapult could be thrown off entirely.

"Dialga."

Dylan's grin deepened.

Origin Dialga lowered its head slightly. Its eyes glowed with an eerie light.

Suddenly, Dragapult began to slow down—visibly, unnaturally slow.

The two Dreepy, ready to launch, also moved in weird, delayed motion.

Dragapult's eyes widened in panic. It tried to roar—but even its mouth opened in slow motion.

"Dragapult?!"

Leon was horrified. What the hell was going on?!

This had to be Dialga's doing!

He turned to Dylan. "What's happening?!"

"Time," Dylan replied calmly. "Dialga just slowed down Dragapult's time."

Leon froze.

"Dialga commands time itself. It simply altered the flow around Dragapult."

"Say the Dragon Darts normally take two seconds to fire. Dialga can stretch that to two minutes. Or five. Or twenty."

Leon's pupils shrank.

You're kidding me, right?!

"Time is mysterious, heavy, and profound—but for my Dialga, manipulating it isn't difficult."

"That's the 'special ability' I mentioned earlier, Champion Leon."

Dylan's smile deepened.

Yes—Dialga's temporal power made Celebi's look like child's play.

Celebi could travel through time or use light time-based moves.

But Dialga was time.

And in its Origin Form, if it wanted, it could literally rewind a target into an egg.

(Which has been shown in the anime.)

Of course, that wouldn't work against equally powerful legendaries—but against most Pokémon?

Devastating.

Leon stood frozen, twitching as he stared at Dylan.

Bro.

We're supposed to be sparring.

First it was legendary dragons. Now it's a literal god of time.

What are you trying to prove here?!

And if this is Pokémon #5…

Is the last one Arceus or something?!
