Second Day...
The sky was still burning with fire and magic, and Alexa stood on one of the floating stepping stones, her arms tired and her swords heavy in her hands, watching the battle as people screamed and dragons roared, everything feeling like it was never going to end
"AAAHHHHH!" Then suddenly she heard a loud scream from below.
Alexa's eyes snapped down. Below her, a guild member—one she didn't even recognize—was thrashing in the grip of a dragon's jaws. The beast's teeth clamped down, lifting the screaming person high into the air like a toy.
"Alexa! Alexa!!"
Voices called her name but Alexa didn't turn. Her gaze was fixed on the victim below, and just for a moment—just a second too long—she was distracted.
A huge shadow passed over her.
"LOOK OUT!!"
Too late.
