The doctor didn't speak immediately. He looked at Ji Qingshan, then shifted his gaze to Wen Han, who was just as apprehensive:
"Are you the patient's husband?"
"He's not." Ji Qingshan cut in before Wen Han could respond. "You can just tell me. How is my sister?"
The doctor furrowed his brows slightly and said:
"The patient had been sexually assaulted before arriving here. There are multiple lacerations in her lower body, but those can be slowly treated and aren't major issues. The real problem is the bullet—it pierced the patient's uterus. Although the surgery was successful, it's highly likely she won't be able to conceive in the future."
Ji Qingshan was stunned for nearly a full minute before he snapped out of the grim reality. He looked at Ji Qingluan, lying on the hospital bed, pale and lifeless. His eyes instantly turned red as a surge of anger reached its peak. He turned to Wen Han, unable to swallow his resentment no matter what.
