AN:- SORRY FOR NOT UPLOADING YESTERDAY, BUT IT WAS MY GF'S BIRTHDAY YESTERDAY, YOU GUYS UNDERSTAND WHAT...HAPPENED, RIGHT?. ANYWAYS, HOPE YOU GUYS ENJOY CHAPTER 58.
[PREVIOUSLY ON GAMER PIECE]
Ripping Luffy's arm straight from his body. Luffy could not even scream in pain as he opens his mouth, the Rumble Ball falls into it, making him choke. He swallows it, before Hanafuda slams his leg into Luffy's chest, breaking his ribs. Hanafuda raises his sickle, bringing it down towards Luffy—
*DOM DUT DA DA*
[RAI'S POV]
What the fuck?
How the fuck did Luffy unleash such a power? As Luffy flies past me with a grin, I am confused beyond belief. I cannot understand how Luffy was able to destroy Don and the side of the island.
"H-how is th-that—" Aisa looks horrified as she sensed the battle with me. I blink, still not believing, but I shrug. It's Luffy after all, The Sun God, Nika. He created an Island Level Fist when fighting against Kaido, so I don't even think this is impossible for him.
But, Luffy is getting MUCH stronger than his canonical counterpart, to the point I am not THAT much worried about saving Ace.
"What is That Red Form anyways?" Robin speaks up, seemingly intending on something. I don't know what it is, but she seems to be planning something. I shrug internally, not really caring much about it.
She is a living, breathing person after all. She has her own thoughts.
"From what I understand, that's Luffy's Half-awakened Form." Chopper's eyes widen, as he knows what I am talking about. Chopper opens his mouth, but Bentham speaks up before.
"Half Awakened, as in Partial Awakening?" Bentham figures it out, though the fact that he did surprises me. How did he figure it out?
"Makes sense, the Rumble Ball alters brain wavelength to allow more transformations to the user than they can do normally. Awakening is in the realm of possibility, but why are you specifying it as partial awakening?" Chopper almost figures it out, but it makes sense as to why he doesn't know the true reason Awakenings happen.
"Awakening occurs when the mind and body catch up to the devil fruit. Like, you can develop your Devil Fruit to the point you use its max application, and understanding the characteristics of the Devil Fruit until you can use it to its max potential." Chopper, Robin and Bentham raise their eyebrows, understanding what I am saying. But Chopper asks what I mean, as scientists only work with facts, rather than opinions.
"By full potential, you mean?" I shrug, looking at the place where Luffy is fighting with Vergo and Hanafuda, taking Luffy as an example.
"Take Luffy as an example, eating the Rumble Ball allowed him to have much more access to his rubbery body, due to the alteration of the brainwaves from Rumble Balls. Not only is he pushing his body in order to master his Devil Fruit, he is figuring out new ways to use his Devil Fruit. He is using his Devil Fruit to its full potential." Honestly, I didn't really think about it before, but now, it dawns on me.
Luffy is accelerating the development of his Devil Fruit, understanding it and pushing his body to its limits in order to use his Devil Fruit abilities. The Rumble Ball is giving him a free way in order to master his Devil Fruit, and even awakening. With Kidd and Law, it's easily understandable that someone doesn't need to ALMOST die to awaken their fruit, as they were able to awaken their Devil Fruit without any fighting like Luffy did against Kaido.
Plus, it seems that the 3rd Rumble Ball that Luffy would eat COULD awaken him, but honestly, I don't know if that is possible, as Chopper said—
"If Luffy eats that Rumble Ball thingy to push his mastery of his Devil Fruit, what about Chopper?" Wyper notices the unusualness of the situation, as Chopper turns to look at Wyper. Honestly, I am curious as to HOW a Rumble Ball TRULY affects Chopper, and what better way than to let him explain?
"My fruit is…different? Thanks to the system, I finally figured out why." I blink, surprised. Is it true? Did Chopper find his Devil Fruit name? Is it some mythical Zoan Fruit that allows him to turn into Forest God—
"My Devil Fruit is the basic ability to turn into a human. That's all." I raise my eyebrows, why is Chopper sounding…excited? With the way he is speaking, he should be either indifferent or sad, but why is he excited?
"Why are you excited?" Robin voices out my thoughts, surprisingly initiating conversation. Chopper grins, before going on a detailed tangent about his Devil Fruit which I know—
But something catches me off guard.
"My Devil Fruit allows me to transform into a human, so if a human ate it, it would be ALMOST useless.—"
Almost?
"Due to me being born a deer, I was able to turn into a 'Human' by eating it. My normal form is my Walk Point, my full Zoan form is My Heavy Point, and my Hybrid Form is the one I am currently in." Chopper gets up from where he is sitting, before turning into Heavy Point, so he could continue explaining. I don't know why he needs to do it, but I let him explain.
He is the expert after all.
"With Rumble Balls, I can gain four more forms. But, since I ATE the Devil Fruit instead of a human, I was able to have different animal forms." I nod, understanding what he is saying. If a human ate it, it would do nothing, other than make him more "human-like", whatever that means—
Wait a second.
"When I eat 3 Rumble Balls, I turn into a giant Monster, able to use all my points together. The thing is, that is because I am particularly using the DEER side of my biology." My eyes widen, understanding what he is saying. Chopper has been transforming into his deer side of his entire biology. According to Vegapunk—
"According to Dr. Vegapunk's research on Devil Fruits, eating a Devil Fruit affects their Lineage Factors." I blink, surprised once again. How did Chopper know about that? Not only me, but Franky, Robin, Bentham and Sanji have their surprise shown on their faces, though for different reasons.
"Vegapunk?" Franky whispers, surprised by the name. I mean, who wouldn't be, for engineers, Vegapunk is a role model. Robin and Bentham lean in, interested in listening to the details of Devil Fruits, in order to develop their own Devil Fruits. But Sanji, he realises what Chopper is speaking up—
And is looking horrified.
"What are Lineage Factors?" Aisa asks, curious. Chopper takes a breath in, but it is Sanji who explains it.
"Lineage Factors are the blueprint of life, existing in all of the living organisms." Chopper looks surprised at Sanji answering it, but I look at him, as Sanji grits his teeth, trying to appear unaffected. I continue from where Sanji left off.
"Lineage Factors were found by a group of scientists called MADS. The research team has Dr. Vegapunk, Scien, otherwise known as Queen of the Kaido Pirates, Caesar Clown, who is working with Doflamingo in order to create Artificial Devil Fruits—"
Everyone's eyes widen at that, not only are these engineers connected to Doflamingo, a Warlord, but Kaido too, a Yonko? The fact that there are Artificial Devil Fruits is another shock.
"And lastly, Vinsmoke Judge." I turn towards Sanji, making him grit his teeth as everyone's eyes widen. While Sanji hasn't told anyone his history, the people smart enough to understand why I looked at him are shocked.
They have access to the party system, and see his name "Vinsmoke Sanji."
"Your Father—" Usopp accidentally slips his words off, making Sanji turn his head at him, glaring.
"He is NOT my father." Sanji speaks through gritted teeth, making Usopp back off. Zoro notes the hate and pain from Sanji's tone, but keeps to himself as he sneaks a look at me, looking indifferent.
But, I am thinking. Why did Chopper bring up the Lineage Factor, along with his "deer" side? He calls his Devil Fruit regular, also mentions how Devil Fruit AFFECT the Lineage Factor—
"Anyways, you think that changing your Lineage Factor in order to develop your "human" side, right?" Chopper nods, not at all surprised that I figured it out. Sanji's eyes widen in horror, as he immediately speaks.
"Don't do it. Changing your Lineage Factor would make you emotionless, a robot, a murderer, someone who doesn't feel any emotions—" as Sanji tries to convince Chopper to not go with his plan, I think. Chopper altering the Lineage Factor of him would actually make him much better, as both a doctor, due to the knowledge he gains from doing it, and as a Devil Fruit user.
But I understand the side effects too, especially Sanji's point of view. But—
Should I tell him?—
Eh, fuck it.
"Not you, or your sister Reiju." Sanji blinks, before turning to me in surprise. I look at him with a raised eyebrow, as Sanji understands what I said.
"W-what? I am not one of them. My sister only survived it because the modifications were done on her a couple of years AFTER she was born, if not, she would have—" Sanji doesn't want to continue, and even I don't, seeing Sanji's pained face.
But I gotta continue.
"Who said you are not one of the modified humans?" Sanji's eyes widen in shock, as he understands my implication. The same tone I use when I know something for certain, and with my track record, I KNOW what I am talking about.
"N-no. I never showed any physical strength, speed, and power to them. How could I be—" I try not to wince at the desperate tone Sanji is using to deny what I am saying, trying to use his logic to reject what I am implying—
But the truth has gotta be known.
"Your mother, Sora, took a drug that caused your Genetic Modifications to be dormant. She wanted the same for the others, but only you were properly affected by the drug." Sanji's eyes widen as big as a football, before collapsing back into his seat. He grips his hair as he looks horrified at the information I gave him.
"H-how? My mother didn't tell me anything about this. And even if she DID take the drug, why was it not effective for my other siblings? Why?" Sanji is still in disbelief, not understanding why he was chosen to be normal, while his brothers were monsters.
"Luck, or because you were the youngest? I don't really know." Honestly, that's the only answer I have. It's plot armor that Sanji didn't reject the drug like his other brothers did—
Wait a second.
All of us stay silent for a minute, listening to the sounds of impacts on the side of the island. I think about the drug not being effective on Sanji. Maybe it is because of the resistance? Sanji had his modifications become dormant because of the drug, so it seems that the drug efficiency was not affecting the other three brothers because they were older, leaving Sanji who was younger by a couple of minutes.
From checking in Google, Sora took that drug so that her sons could have their "humanity" intact. So, her goal isn't to have the modifications be dormant, but rather that her sons not be emotionless drones, which… kinda worked?
For all of them, it kind of worked.
This isn't definitive, but that's the best I got. Sanji raises his head, looking at me seriously.
"....Could there be a possibility of me turning into those emotionless creatures too?" Sanji tries to figure out my answer from my expressions, but I don't give anything away. Everyone looks at me as well, and I only have one answer.
"Nope. The drug was only taken with the intention of NOT having your emotions suppressed, somehow, it also made your modifications dormant." I shrug, making Sanji sigh. Chopper, his curiosity at an all-time high, opens his mouth to speak up, but Sanji continues.
"It seems it didn't work properly." Sanji jokes, chuckling at his own joke. I look at him, my eyebrow raised.
"Who said it didn't?" Sanji looks at me in surprise.
"Well, my other "brothers" are emotionless bastards, so it is exactly as my fa— Judge wanted." Sanji has a little venom in his voice, but my raised eyebrow is still raised.
"Okay, no.1, calling them bastards would TECHNICALLY mean your mother was unfaithful—" Sanji's eyes go wide in horror, as he opens his mouth to reject the notion, but I continue.
"And No.2, they did TECHNICALLY show their emotions… to you at least." Sanji opens his mouth to shout at me for thinking that he meant his mother was unfaithful, but he stops as he listens to the next point, thinking—
Before opening his eyes in shock. Sanji remembers how happy they were when bullying him, making him realize that they did HAVE emotions. Or, it might be due to their connection as brothers, which might allow the three brothers to feel emotions due to the fact that they were together when their mother took the drug. Maybe being near Sanji would awaken their emotions. Maybe that is why they bullied Sanji so much, so they could feel the fleeting emotions—
Or something like that. They are still assholes.
"...You might be right." Sanji hesitantly nods, coming to the first conclusion I made before making another conclusion, the connection of the brothers. Chopper finally speaks up, looking at me.
"You know everything about Lineage Factors?" I shake my head. Of course not, I ain't Vegapunk, or Caesar Clown, or Queen, or even Judge to FULLY understand Lineage Factor.
"Nope, I ain't Vegapunk. I know some things, so we can talk about that." Chopper is deflated, but he nods excitedly. He opens his mouth—
"And how do you know about Lineage Factors? And Swirly Brows' life? And Luffy's devil fruit, and etc. etc.?" Zoro speaks up, looking directly at me. Everyone also looks at me, making me remember my promise.
"You promised, you remember?" Nami, ever the thief, makes me remember what promise I made to them. I scratch my chin, before shrugging. Honestly, at this point, learning where the knowledge comes from isn't going to change anything. We already reached the New World, one way or the other, and with the Gamer System, they can get stronger, a lot quicker.
"You guys know about the Multiverse?" Everyone blinks in surprise, even Robin whom I thought would know about it. As I open my mouth to speak—
"You mean multiple universes?" I look at Zoro in surprise. How the fuck did he figure that out? He looks… amused if anything.
"What—" Robin doesn't know what universe even means, which would make sense. The concept of 'universe' doesn't exist in this world, so if she doesn't even know HOW or WHAT a universe is, she won't know what a multiverse is.
"How do you know about the multiverse?" Zoro knows more than he is letting on, from the amused expression he is wearing on his face. How does he know—
"Well… I met some... dude once who was talking about the universe and multiple universes." He... met—
HOLY SHIT—
"What's the dude's name?" Is the joke about Zoro travelling through the multiverse because he is lost true? HOLY SHIT!!
"I don't know his full name, it was a couple of years ago. He had spiky hair, with an orange Gi—" My eyes widen as big as a football, recognising who Zoro is talking about.
motherfucking Goku?
Are you fucking SERIOUS??
"Can we get back to the topic? What is this multiple universes?" I want to punch the shit out of Usopp for speaking, but I know we gotta come to the matter at hand.
But I ain't leaving this, I am gonna ask this later on.
"...A universe is something that encompasses everything we know, the laws, the world, other planets—" Robin's eyes widen in shock, not only her, but everyone's, except Zoro and Aisa.
"Wait, so a universe is something which contains a lot of worlds?" Nami asks me, making me look at her with an eyebrow raised. That's a simple definition, but it would make sense that they won't have knowledge about space. The world has hidden all of this knowledge after all.
"Something like that, yeah. There are different planets similar to the one we are currently in, all in other universes. I am from one of those." Now, everyone has their eyes widened in shock, including Aisa. Aisa might not know EXACTLY the impact of what I am saying, but Nami's simple definition and my mentioning of similar planets might have clued her in.
"A similar planet to ours?... Wait, the reason you know about everything is because all of these have already happened in your world?" Surprisingly, Usopp is the one who speaks, somehow cooking up a logical explanation. Honestly, I am not surprised Usopp was the one to reach this conclusion, with the amount of lies he has cooked up, him cooking up this type of conclusion.
"...Nope, I am from 2024." If they were shocked before, they almost look startled, as if their entire world is going to collapse this very second.
Right then and there, Luffy's huge hands are visible, beating down on Hanafuda as the island shakes a little, but everyone collectively ignores it.
"...What?" Robin, the first one to come out of the shock, speaks up. I continue, and honestly, I might as well create a bullshit response, as they cannot even fact-check me—
But I ain't gonna. I promised them I will tell them the truth, so that's what I am gonna do.
"In my world, it was more land than ocean, different from this world. In that world, we didn't have Devil Fruits, or Haki abilities. We had two world wars, before major countries signed a peace treaty. In 1997, a man—"
I look at all of them when I say this, making sure they listen to me.
"—Named Eiichiro Oda started creating a book called 'One Piece'." Everyone, if startled, are now horrified as the implications set in.
"The story focuses on a rag-tag group of pirates, who want to achieve their individual dreams, so they journey through the world to achieve it." Robin is the first one to figure out what I am saying, right after that, Sanji figures it out—
"The main focus of this story is on one bo— no, man, a man who has a scar on his face—" Zoro, Nami, Franky, Wyper, and Usopp look at me, shook to their core.
"With a straw hat on his head—" Now, Bentham, Aisa, and Merry are shook as well, as I grin, spreading my hands to the side for a dramatic reveal that everyone has guessed.
"Monkey D. Luffy."
*DOOM DUT DA DA*
Everyone snaps their head towards the side, as they all hear a heartbeat—
*DOOM DUT DA DA*
Another heartbeat, as I recognize it. Right as I do, everyone—
And I mean, everyone on the island senses a huge amount of power, Haki sensor or not.
"L-Luffy?" Merry whispers, making all of us snap out of our shock. Everyone looks at each other in confusion, before collectively turning towards me for explanation, like they do all the time.
"Holy shit!" Meanwhile, I am geeking out. HOLY SHIT!! Luffy awakened his fruit?? Did he eat the 3rd Rumble Ball—
"What the hell?" Zoro looks on, shocked as Luffy's rubber arm is extended to the sky, before it is inflated. The size of the fist increases more and more—
As it enlarges to half the size of the island we are in. Everyone freaks out, as all of us get up. I look at Luffy, narrowing my eyes. I sense Luffy's intention to use this attack to finish Hanafuda, especially as it is coated with Armament Haki, but… something feels odd.
"Surround me." I create a Mana barrier as I gather all of the crew behind me, right as the gigantic fist (nothing seen before) comes down on the poor victim named Hanafuda—
Oh, and by the way, Hanafuda seems to have eaten the Lizard-Lizard Fruit, Model:– Kamado Dragon, as I saw it in his status window—
I stack up more Mana shields over each other, making it thicker as the fist lands—
Shaking the entire island. The force generated by it rips apart all of the buildings on the island, as it slams into the barrier—
Which I hold on, using all of my Mana to not let the barrier break. I grit my teeth, using all of my Mana, as the shockwave finally subsides, making me collapse the barrier. I sigh, as I remove Mana potions from my inventory and chug it, as I continue sensing Luffy—
Whose Observation Haki connects with mine for a brief second as I feel… odd, I don't know how to describe it, but it feels… devouring—
Luffy lands in front of us, the ground rippling like rubber. His colour is different, as instead of fiery red, it's bright white, almost sun-like. Luffy's fiery red hair has also turned bright, while his eyes are red—
Red eyes staring at me, grinning. My eyes widen in shock as it strikes me—
"Luffy—" Zoro speaks up, but Luffy disappears from view—
Appearing in front of me, his hands stretched to his back as I see his grin, as his hands snap back into position—
Which is my face—
*BOOM*
THE END
