Chapter 32
Gen walks to the castle, observing as he herd some gossips from the crowd.
"hey hey, did you know last night there was a boy who beat up a gang of men?" said the first guy.
"yeah i herd the boy were wandering around expressionless like a statue while buying things" said the second guy.
"last night i saw him, i was hiding behind a tree then he vanished within the shadows, i suspect he is a shadow walker in disguise" said the third guy.
"eh! scary, he may take your damned wife" said the third guy.
"Maybe" said the third guy as he chuckles.
Gen who heard it all became suspicious, until he heard Sylvara's Chuckle inside his shadow.
"Sylvara i think you know the news" Gen sneered.
"ahem, i was just strolling while possessing your body hehe" She laughes.
Gen sighed. "i wish this rumor will not turn big".
in the castle, running footsteps echoed, "Reinnn!" Claris Shouted.
"Bang" Claris bumped the door.
"Rein! i finally know how to use Force arts" she said Brightly while sweaty.
"Really Claris?!"
"yes!" she shows her palm excitedly. "Look". her life energy gathers, forming to imperfect sphere.
She stared at Rein's eyes, his impressed reactions was the reward for her achievement.
"im finally having the same powers with Rein hehe" she smiles filled with joy.
"i will get stronger, strong enough to stand beside you, so just wait".
"Okay, no need to rush, you should also rest Claris". said Rein, then he wiped her sweat on her forehead with a cloth he has on his pocket.
Claris life force sphere dispersed, her face was red while trembling as she smelled the cloth was scented wit Rein's Sweat. she exploded inside.
"Oh! Sorry! somehow i treated you like my sister before...".
"I-it's okay R-rein, no need to be sorry". a moment of silence came.
"can you tell me about your sister, Rein?" Claris asked.
Rein face showed a very slight sorrow, however for Claris she saw it clearly. "My little sister... she was a smart and good sister bu-". Claris suddenly coped Rein's mouth with her hands.
"Wait Rein!... it's okay to hide it if it hurts you... im sorry for asking something sad" Claris felt pain seeing Rein's saddened face. "take you're time Rein... then tell me... not with sadness"
Rein eyes brightened, he felt the warmth from Claris Hands and saw the worried face from her. someone who genuinely cherish him. Claris took her hands suddenly, she felt Rein's lips and mouth, it kissed her palm.
"Okay... thank you Claris, you're so considerate"
"W-well... so what i mean is ah i be going to train more, bye" She ran leaving Rein alone and confused.
She stopped for a distance then stared at her palm where Rein's lips touched. she stared menacingly, slowly taising it to her face as if about to kiss it.
"W-what am i doing!" she panicked "as a noble this is not good!" screaming inside her thoughts. "Ahhh Rein you're way too dangerous for me!".
One the other side, Gen was walking on a hallway, however he felt a presence staring at him unnaturally.
He waited. "Runa?, is that you?". Gen asked. Runa shown up hiding behind a pillar. "Y-yes... Gen".
"I see, is there anything you want princess?". He smiled.
"N-no and I told you don't call me princess... I just want to t-talk with you". stuttering.
"Hmm okay, I have time, let's talk Runa".
They moved to a table she prepared.
"So... Is there something bothering you Runa?"
"I already convinced my family to go on an adventure with you... However... It's... I'm.. I wanna ask if I bothers you?", her eyes darkens.
"Hmmm are you worried that you will be a cause for us to fall or being abandoned?... Don't worry Runa your too cool and cute to be like that. Plus I promised your father that I will take care of you which means as a man I can't just break it can I?, not to mention but we also need your power but we promise not to be greedy" Said Gen.
Runa blushes. "It's not that!... Gen if I'm bothering you then...".
"Hmm No your definitely not, to be exact your the first Girl I became friends with... A prescious one".
Thou it was all to lighten up runa, however all Gen words were all true. He's straight faced with a hint of fake smile however his soul were not.
"Really?" She questioned. *Even I'm scary, he calls me cute, I control the dead yet he calls me cool, even when I'm death itself yet I was his first female friend...* She lost in thoughts, redder than ever and Gen noticed that and silently looks away with a hint of blush unnoticed.
"Hmm to make it believable instead of just words... Then how about a promise"
"A promise?"
"Yes for now on, I swear to stand whenever you need me in exchange for you to stand whenever I need you... And the important part is". His shadow began you reshape. Sylvara goes out.
"We will turn it into a curse, one who breaks it's promise will sell it soul to the broken, how's that?" Gen smiled.
"You're really taking this seriously Gen" Said sylvara Slightly worried.
"Yeah, I'm the type to hate breaking my words after all... How's is it Runa?, Sylvara can help us form that curse"
A moment of silence, until runa spoke.
"I'm not ready yet... I need time" and then she clenched his hands, and became red.
"But... Why? Why would you entrust your soul to me who binds it. I'm a necromancer you know, I bind souls and turn then cursed!... So why, why would you say that?" her tears came out.
Then, Gen answered
"It's because when I die, at least my soul knows where to return. I may revive and turn to undead... That seems also cool... At least the one who holds my soul is a Gentle maiden... Well also because I promised I sweared with my words"
His answers her her hearth, and ir hit deeper through her soul.
"Okay" she said while face are down. "Give me time" she started to walk to go to her room.
Her feelings spiralled. It hurts her at the same time gave her Joy. She arrived to her room. And closed the door and lean on it.
Her tears came out uncontrollably. Even it was just a small conversation, however her world were extremely deep for a human, not to mention it's she who was said to. A girl always got rejected yet got entrusted by the soul of the one she loved, even thou she is death he extended not just his hand but also his soul.
Her arm hugged her legs on the floor. Her tears did not stop but at that moment she felt too much to bear. As if she won all of her wishes in her existence.
The next day came, Runa did not gone outside of her room, and so the second day and finally the third day.
The royal family was worried, and they asked Gen to persuade her to go outside.
A Gentle knock on her door. She did not bother. "Runa, it's me Gen... Can I enter", his voice somehow raised her hearth, she stood up.
"No-no don't!" Her faced turned Red, she cannot hide it physically. Then she ran over her room to find make-ups, to hide her blush.
After some minutes, Runa opened her door.
For a moment, Gen saw, her makeup were just too thick, she wants to hide something.
Runa sat of her bed and Gen sat on her chair. A moment of silence arrived betwixt of them.
"So... Runa, are you feeling well? Are you hungry? I made some cookies, since you didn't go outside for a while two days"
His concern and care pierced deep to Runa' hearth, A gentle kind of pain yet enough to destroy her.
Runa trembles. "... I can't control myself... Why would you care for me? It hurts, I can't hold it anymore, somehow my chest Feels extremely happy but at the same time lased with pain..." Her tears came out.
At this point Gen became serious, this moment is pivotal, and there's no turning back. His insights and ability to read humans is accurate therefore he knows it well.
"Runa, I'm sorry... I'm sure I'm the cause of it... I know what you feel and it's because of me..." Gen stood up and came closer to Runa, he held her hand,
It was nothing Natural of Gen, taking her hand means he will go deeper in abyss and he already decided.
"You feel joy, because I tried to give my soul to you"
"You feel happy, because I gave you warth and connection without fear"
"You feel Pain, because you didn't know and everything is not clear yet, your in a daze"
"You feel fear, because I might go away and will never return"
"But Runa, at least I can tell you this to ease your heart and mind" he Gently pressed his lips to the back of her hand.
"I don't feel fear to you... But I feel comfort and I like you"
Runa knows, a kiss to her hand means, adoration, and respect.
He did not see her as pitiful but saw her as something Greater.
Followed, as Runa is sitting Gen stood up once again and kissed her hair.
She knows, kissing her hair means, Comfort and care.
"Runa, I never once done that to anybody, which means I would go this far, at least to show you, you can trust me and don't fear of losing that trust"
Runa could not control it anymore, she jumped straight to Gen, hugged him very tight while her tears were flowing. She finally fell asleep after three nights of being awake.
The next day came, Runa wakes up only to see Gen did not move and she slept on his arms. Waking up seeing the face of the person you like is a blessing.
"Oh! Your awake? You didn't eat for a long time, thankfully, I have a power that let me store things in a space"
He pulled and energy swirled tonhus hand appearing the food he made, still hot.
"Come on, let's eat I'm also hungry"
