After hours of endless, Da Hei's car soon approached the meeting point. The sky was a deep violet, the last light fading behind distant hills. He felt tired, a dull frustration weighing on him, but he knew better than to delay.
He pushed open the car door and stepped out. The air was cool and still. Before he could close the door behind him, a force like steel claws grabbed his neck. It lifted him off the ground with brutal strength, slamming him against the side of the car. A dent formed beneath him, metal creaking eerily. His face turned red as blood rushed to his head, veins throbbing visibly.
He struggled, fists pounding against the invisible grip. Sharp, green vines suddenly shot from his hands, twisting and curling like living things. He fired them at the unseen attacker, but they were caught and torn apart effortlessly. Strong fingers wrapped around his wrists, pinning them down.
His youthful face twisted with anger and fear. "Le-let me go!" he yelled, voice cracking.
