Chapter 331: The New Team Seven
7 Years Later
Ninja Academy
"Alright, everyone, settle down." A middle-aged Iruka was trying to get his students' attention, but to no avail. His frustration was rising until it eventually exploded.
"I SAID SETTLE DOWN!"
"Ohh, there it is! The legendary Demon Iruka Sensei!" one of the students pointed out while letting out a chuckle.
"That's enough!" Iruka exclaimed. "You are no longer children. From this day on, you have officially graduated from the ninja academy and can consider yourselves…ninjas!"
This got the attention of the class.
Iruka nodded and continued. "As per usual, you are going to be divided into teams of three, and each team will have a Jonin assigned to act as a mentor. Be sure to listen to your future instructors and be respectful."
"Yes, Sensei!" the class responded.
"That's better." Iruka looked satisfied now. "I'm looking forward to seeing what you accomplish in the future." For a moment, his eyes went to one particular dark-haired girl sitting in the corner of the classroom. He was definitely going to hear a lot from her.
"Okay, I will now begin to call the teams."
Iruka named several teams until he eventually got to number seven.
"Team number seven will be…Koga Inuzuka."
"Hell yeah! I'm going to be the team captain!" A joyful boy with messy black hair jumped from his chair with excitement while the black puppy on his head barked with joy.
"Sit down!" Iruka shouted. "And there is no such thing as a team captain. You are all just newbies. Now…as I was saying, Team seven will consist of Inuzuka, Asuka Uchiha, and…"
"Yes!" the same boy shouted again. "I got Asuka on my team! We're going to be together forever, it's desti—" Something hit the back of his head and sent him tumbling down.
"Thank you," said Iruka.
"No problem…tsk!" The one who threw the object was a girl with long black hair and black eyes. She wore a black shirt with the symbol of her clan on her back.
"Now, let's see if I can finish this with no more interruptions…" Iruka glanced at Koga, who was still on the ground while his puppy licked his face. "Team seven will consist of Koga Inuzuka, Asuka Uchiha, and Himawari Uzumaki."
The girl in the corner lifted her face from the desk and glanced at her two new teammates. She was unsure how to feel about it, as she never got along with the Uchiha girl, and the Inuzuka boy was completely insufferable.
"Uff…this is going to suck…" she said softly to herself.

"Lady Tsunade, there is something strange with this year's teams." Elder Shikaku brought the paper to her table.
"You mean team seven." Tsunade didn't even need to look at the paper to know what he was talking about. "Team seven is always strange, isn't it?"
"Yes, but…Iruka placed the two best kunoichis in the team. Not to mention that Uzumaki and Uchiha have never got along. That seems like a recipe for disaster."
Tsunade shrugged. "I had no choice on this one. It was a personal request from their new Jonin sensei and I couldn't say no to him."
"Their sensei?" Shikaku had already noted that the name of that team's instructor was missing. An idea came to his mind. "Don't tell me…it's him?!" There was only one person in the entire village who would dare to demand something like this from the Hokage. "Did he actually decide to become a Jonin Sensei?."
"Yeah…it's him. And as for the rivalry between those two girls, well, I'm sure he'll be able to handle them." Tsunade poured herself another glass of wine. "So good!"
"It's not even midday…" Shikaku pointed out. "Where is Ino? She's the one who should be keeping an eye on your drinking habits."
"I don't need a babysitter, okay? And Ino is busy helping her father interrogate a few prisoners, don't bother her." Tsunade responded while grasping her gray hair between her fingers. She was already getting on in her years, and her jutsu could no longer conceal everything.
If it was just up to her, she would have already retired, but right now, she was waiting…waiting for one particular someone to take over her position.

"Where is our sensei?!" Koga Inuzuka complained for the tenth time. "It's been two hours! Everyone has left already."
They had to watch as the senseis for the other teams visited the classroom and took their teams away while they just stood there and waited.
Iruka had assured them that their sensei was coming and that they just needed to remain in the classroom.
"It is very unprofessional," Asuka Uchiha agreed with him, which was very rare.
Koga glanced at his other teammate. "Is she sleeping?" Himawari was sitting in her usual place with her head resting on top of her hands and her face toward the window.
"Hmph." Asuka picked up a piece of chalk from the ground and threw it at her.
Himawari's hand moved like lightning and grasped the chalk between two fingers. "What do you think you are doing?"
"See? Not sleeping." Asuka had a grin of satisfaction on her face. "Those eyes are always looking at everything, aren't they?"
"Do you wanna try me?" Himawari's Byakugan had always been stronger than normal, and she didn't even need to activate it to get a full view of everything that was happening around her. Placing more chakra in her eyes just served to enhance the effect.
"Ehm…come on, guys." Koga was getting nervous. If those two started fighting inside the classroom, it was going to be a mess.
That would not be the first time it happened, but today that would be a terrible idea.
"What if the sensei enters while you two are brawling? That won't be good, right? So let—"
The door of the room opened.
This caught the attention of the three new genins, who stopped whatever they were doing and turned their attention toward the door, waiting to see their new sensei.
A man with long blonde hair, carefully tied up in a ponytail and wearing some elegant white robes, came inside the room and looked at them.
The students were all shocked to see who this was, although for different reasons.
But before anyone could open their mouths, he spoke.
"You have one minute to get to the rooftop, or you all fail." After saying that, the man disappeared in a bolt of golden lightning.
