"This is because the urban environment purification work is imperative!" Officer Jenny exclaimed.
"But I don't want the Grimers to lose their home," she continued. "So, after a thorough discussion, I decided to negotiate with the Grimers to find a suitable place for them to live."
Officer Jenny glanced at the long queue of Grimers in front of her and the police officers maintaining order nearby, explaining the situation.
"Ah! So, have you found a place?" Misty asked, her curiosity piqued.
"Yes! If you're interested, come and take a look with me," Officer Jenny offered, gesturing to the group. Ash, Misty, and Brock, who weren't in a rush to leave, followed her.
The group soon arrived at another street, where several police officers surrounded a manhole marked with cautionary yellow tape. The cover was open, and Grimers were jumping in one after another in an orderly manner.
"This is…?" Ash trailed off, confused.
"When the environmental purification work begins, the city's overall environment will gradually improve. The only suitable place left for the Grimers is the sewer," Officer Jenny explained.
To others, a sewer might seem uninhabitable, but for Grimers, it was a paradise. They thrived in dark and humid environments. With the harsh conditions in Gringey City, the citizens hoped for better surroundings, but the Grimers' willingness to adapt made the sewers an ideal habitat.
"As you can see from how willingly they're entering, this arrangement benefits both sides. The city will improve, and the sewers will remain largely unchanged, continuing to discharge wastewater. The industrial nature of Gringey City ensures the sewer system is extensive and well-suited for the Grimers to live freely," Officer Jenny elaborated.
"Moreover," she added, "I've made an agreement with the Grimers. They'll assist the city's sanitation workers in clearing garbage blocked in the Waterworks. Even with a cleaner urban environment, garbage accumulation is inevitable, and human efforts sometimes fall short. With the Grimers' help, everything will run much smoother."
The issue, which had initially concerned Ash, Misty, and Brock, was resolved satisfactorily. Officer Jenny's practical solution left the trio feeling reassured as they prepared to continue their journey.
"I see, this is indeed a good method!" Brock exclaimed in admiration.
"Yes! This way, the Grimers can live a good life here." Misty, though still a bit wary of the Grimers, sympathized with their plight.
Watching the Grimers disappear into the sewers one by one, the three of them felt relieved. They left Gringey City with peace of mind and continued their journey to Fuchsia City.
Meanwhile, high above the clouds, a spaceship cruised through the atmosphere. In the main control room, Archer sat calmly, facing the large screen where a commanding figure loomed.
"You failed, Archer!" The figure's voice was harsh and oppressive.
"Apologies. There were… unforeseen circumstances," Archer replied evenly, unfazed by the reprimand.
The man on the screen was Giovanni, the leader of Team Rocket. News of Archer's failure had reached him swiftly, and he demanded an explanation.
Giovanni's expression softened with curiosity rather than anger. "You, of all people, failed? What happened?"
Archer did not shy away from the truth. "A very interesting Trainer thwarted our plans."
"A Trainer?" Giovanni's surprise was evident. "Are you telling me one individual disrupted an entire Team Rocket operation?"
Archer nodded. "If my suspicions are correct, it's the same Trainer Ariana encountered before. I've confirmed his identity."
Giovanni's frown deepened. "Him again? That boy?" His gaze lingered on the screen, troubled by the realization that the same young man had interfered twice. "He's just a kid. How could he possess such ability?"
Archer's tone was measured, but his unease was apparent. "Yes, but this boy wields a mysterious power, unlike anything I've encountered before."
Giovanni leaned forward. "Mysterious power?"
Archer nodded again. "I've compiled a detailed report on the boy's capabilities. I'll send it to you immediately. As for Zapdos, I'll personally ensure its capture." His calm demeanor suggested he had already planned his next move.
Giovanni's face remained contemplative as the transmission ended. The mysterious Trainer was proving to be more than a simple nuisance, and he would need to be dealt with carefully.
"Okay! I'll hold you to that. Moltres and Articuno are also being tracked. I hope you can speed up your progress and provide the necessary support!" Giovanni's voice carried both urgency and expectation.
"Understood!" Archer replied, his eyes flashing with determination. He ended the call, a sneer spreading across his face as if relishing the challenge ahead. "Ash, I'm looking forward to meeting you again!" he muttered with a sinister grin.
Just then, a subordinate approached hurriedly. "Report! Thundercloud activity has been detected again!"
"Excellent! Pursue it immediately. Zapdos, you won't escape me this time!" Archer declared. He glanced at the computer displaying the storm's coordinates, narrowed his eyes, and issued the command. The spaceship changed course, heading swiftly toward the dense thunderclouds.
Meanwhile, Ash and his friends, unaware that Archer had resumed his hunt for Zapdos, continued their journey. With Gringey City behind them, they were nearing Fuchsia City. Surrounded by towering mountains, they knew that scaling the mountain ahead would lead them to the location of the next gym.
The trio walked at a relaxed pace along the mountain path, enjoying the tranquil surroundings. Suddenly, the loud roar of engines broke the serenity. Startled, the three quickly stepped to the side of the road.
Moments later, a convoy of enormous trucks appeared, one after another, their size and green coloring dominating the narrow path. The procession of about a dozen vehicles rumbled past, their purpose a mystery as the ground trembled beneath their weight.
