Jiang Yisheng's lips curled into a smile that froze for a few seconds before he forced a laugh and said, "What's the big deal? It's just giving a necklace, it doesn't mean that much."
"So was it given by a girl?" Veya insisted.
Jiang Yisheng answered helplessly, "No."
Upon hearing this, Veya sighed softly, her future daughter-in-law still nowhere in sight.
Grabbing his suitcase, Jiang Yisheng took the cap off his head and patted her shoulder, "Mom, I'm off. I'll bring you a present when I return."
Veya stuffed a piece of pastry into his mouth and complained, "I'd be happier if you brought back a girlfriend."
The pastry was fragrant and sticky. Jiang Yisheng took a bite and said, laughing and crying at the same time, "Mom, can we not talk about this right now?"
"No way." Veya huffed, "I'll keep nagging you about finding a girlfriend until you get one."
Jiang Yisheng, "..."
