As Damon walked into the house just before midnight, he saw his mother seated in the living room watching TV.
"You're back," she said with a smile as she glanced at him.
"Why are you up? Don't tell me you were waiting for me," he said, and she smiled.
"Would that be a bad thing?" She asked, sitting up to look at him.
"I don't know. It depends. Jessica said you were at the hospital today," he said, and she grinned.
"Yeah, I was. How are things going with you two?" She asked, and Damon chuckled.
"Are you asking because you don't know? Or because you just want to laugh over what you saw?" He asked, and she laughed.
"Sit down. I want to talk to you," she said softly, and Damon raised a brow, but sat down.
"How are things really going between you both? Do you think you're going to eventually get married to her?" She asked, and Damon looked at her for a minute.
"You know I am. Are you asking because you want to disapprove now?" He asked curiously.
