Chapter 210 Morning Routine
Although it was still early in the morning, Lucia thought it would be prudent to help exercise Kailey while Aleshia was still out for the count. Since Lucia rarely saw Aleshia engage in any physical activity other than practicing her magic, she figured that Aleshia must have strictly followed the belief that magic was everything. Given Aleshia's ability to cast support spells, Lucia thought she probably didn't consider physical enhancements beyond magical ones to be necessary.
Despite her initial hesitation, Lucia went through the mundane task of exercising the body, a routine she followed every morning. Kailey was now quite flexible. Lucia began by bending the body in various ways to enhance its flexibility and agility. She estimated how much stress Kailey's body could endure, even without fully sensing the pain or soreness it must be feeling. Drawing on her knowledge of anatomy, Lucia carefully tensed and exercised the body.
After completing the morning routine, Lucia noticed beads of sweat accumulating on the skin. Using her magic, she gathered the beads into the air, forming them into small balls of water. She then dropped the ball to the ground, where it soaked into the dirt.
After lightly cleaning Kailey's body, Lucia was captivated by her luscious, full head of hair. Wanting to make it look pretty, Lucia decided to try her hand at braiding. With her nonexistent fingers, she used her magic to weave the strands of Kailey's silky black hair into intricate patterns that only she could envision.
However, after stepping back— or rather, floating back— to admire her work, Lucia realized that Kailey's hair had turned into a tangled mess. Letting out a dejected sigh, Lucia felt embarrassed for still being unable to braid someone's hair properly. Disheartened, she set about straightening Kailey's hair again.
After combing back Kailey's hair, Lucia felt an overwhelming urge to keep trying. The saying "try, try, and try again" echoed in her mind. So, Lucia made several more attempts to weave the threads into a decorative hairstyle. However, each attempt seemed to unravel, causing the strands to fall back down Kailey's shoulders.
It was her last attempt, and finally, Lucia was able to make something work. She formed a basic braid across the forehead, creating a feather knot with one long braided strand of hair looping loosely around the head, tying all of Kailey's hair together. Satisfied with her work, Lucia felt a surge of satisfaction. However, amidst her delight, she was interrupted by the sound of the town bell ringing.
After the interruption, Lucia reluctantly but proudly perched herself on Aleshia's head and went off to teach, hoping the kids would notice the difference. During one of her breaks, Lucia remarked, with concern edging her tone, "I didn't think Aleshia would sleep for this long."
