Most lights in the separate guesthouse of the residence were shut off. With barely any light from outside penetrating the windows, Penny could barely see the person lying unconscious on the bed—the same bed Nathaniel had used when he was here.
Penny sat in a chair a few meters from the bed, arms crossed under her chest.
"I thought abducting Jonathan would fill this place," she whispered, narrowing her eyes. "But I guess you should expect the unexpected."
Patricia should've told Penny earlier. No matter how lame it would sound, Penny would always check its validity herself. But then again, Patricia had been careful, treading on eggshells. Probably because everyone assumed she'd make a mistake that could end her budding career.
Leaning back, Penny didn't want to dwell on it anymore.
Was she worried about the trio? (Patricia, Theo, and Hayley) Absolutely.
