Broken had already arrived at Deadbay City, where the massive Ship Golem awaited him, docked and ready. The full crew of the Vensalor Outriders stood assembled as well, prepared for the long voyage ahead. SexyGrill and her guild members were already aboard, and Vallrick, stood with his arms crossed near the boarding ramp, waiting silently but with clear anticipation.
The ship began to pull away from the harbor slowly, its great limbs moving with a mechanical grace. The people of Deadbay City gathered along the docks, waving farewell as the towering ship began to drift into the open sea.
Broken, however, stayed out of sight.
He had deliberately kept his presence hidden. As much as the citizens respected and admired him, he couldn't afford to draw attention. Not when his movements could reveal too much. Too many eyes were watching. Too many ears were listening.
