It wasn't easy getting to the restaurant, but once seated, Ji Qing finally noticed the ashen pallor of Feng Yanyan's face.
"Yanyan, are you all right?"
Feng Yanyan clutched her abdomen under the table, shaking her head.
"Really okay? Why is your face so pale?"
Feng Yanyan kept shaking her head, trying to suppress the discomfort in her throat.
All her restraint collapsed when a plate of codfish was brought to the table.
She covered her mouth, got up, and rushed to the restaurant's restroom, where she leaned over the sink and vomited uncontrollably.

She didn't know how much time had passed.
After rinsing her mouth, Feng Yanyan looked up and saw a woman with a water-streaked, pale face in the mirror.
She slapped her face vigorously until a rosy flush appeared, then left the restroom and returned to her seat.
Ji Qing sat there, her eyes fixed intently on Feng Yanyan's face.
The table was already set with the ordered meal, exquisite and beautiful, yet untouched.
