Chapter 448 - Chapter 448: The Silent Battle (Bonus Chapter 2)

"After the battle, I found this on the front door of Mika's apartment building," Luke said, pulling a dart from his tactical vest pocket, while Maslow and Gerard looked at him with puzzled expressions.

"It was probably thrown by another group to warn Mika. If she had gone upstairs and entered her home, we wouldn't have had time to save her," Luke continued.

"Yeah," Gerard agreed, thinking of the elusive ninja assassins they had encountered earlier. "If Mika had entered her house, she wouldn't have survived. So, we might have been set up," Gerard said, his gaze locking onto Maslow.

Maslow shrugged. "Sorry, there are some things I can't say, and I also can't report this to my superiors right now."

"Why?" Luke stood up angrily, slamming both hands on the table and glaring at Maslow, as if ready to take action if he didn't get a reasonable explanation.

Unbothered by Luke's attitude, Maslow looked him in the eye and replied firmly, "Don't worry, we will take revenge, and we'll do it immediately. I already have the personnel and orders. But this must stay secret. If any of our people tip off Ozunu, we'll be facing endless assassinations."

"Internal leaks?" Luke instantly understood and asked with a grim expression, "What's the plan?"

"In two hours, two large transport planes will take off for Ozunu's stronghold. There will be 40 Delta Force members on board, and if needed, the transport planes will provide firepower support. I have only one request: wipe out those bastards."

Luke and Gerard stood at attention, their expressions serious as they shouted, "Understood!"

After sending Luke and Gerard off, Maslow sat quietly in his chair, closing his eyes as he thought about how to wrap things up.

Meanwhile, aboard the plane heading toward Ozunu Island, Black Ghost listened to the message from Sunday and looked at White Ghost in surprise. "I didn't expect you to help save Mika. I thought you were truly cold-blooded."

"Idiot," White Ghost snorted, lying back on the plane's couch with his eyes closed, resting.

"After this mission, I'll keep my promise and teach you the secret techniques. We might even become friends."

Hearing this, White Ghost's eyelids twitched slightly, which didn't escape Black Ghost's notice. He smiled—seemed like White Ghost wasn't entirely heartless after all.

Six hours later, the plane arrived 10 kilometers from the target. The two, fully geared up, opened the rear hatch of the plane and then opened two metal boxes. From the boxes, four spider robot launchers and a Black Blade drone carrier automatically flew out, disappearing into the sky.

Hearing Sunday report that everything was going smoothly, White Ghost mocked the slightly nervous Black Ghost. "Ready yet? Don't worry, Sunday will remind you when to open the chute. I'm going first, good luck, buddy. Haha!"

Watching White Ghost jump out of the plane, Black Ghost took a few deep breaths before following suit. Following Sunday's instructions, he adjusted his posture for gliding, deploying his parachute when he was 1200 meters from the sea, and floated quietly toward Ozunu Island under the cover of night.

After landing safely, he gathered up his parachute, checked his equipment, activated the night vision on his goggles, and followed Sunday's directions to the rendezvous point.

Above, the Black Blade drone carrier began releasing drones at high altitude, while the spider robot launchers deployed their robots under the cover of night, moving them toward Ozunu's stronghold.

As Black Ghost watched the virtual display in his goggles, he relayed to Sunday the locations of hidden sentries and key points to watch. Once everything was ready, all that was left was to wait for Luke Hobbs and his team to arrive.

After hiding in the trees for over an hour, Black and White Ghosts received Sunday's alert that Luke's team was parachuting in. They looked up, and after a minute or two of scanning the sky, they spotted dozens of black parachutes descending over Ozunu Island.

About 20 minutes later, Luke's team silently approached the Ozunu base. Using night vision and thermal imaging, they took out a few hidden sentries with silenced guns. At that moment, the two transport planes, which had been circling nearby, swooped in, their machine guns tearing into the buildings within the base.

Meanwhile, inside the base, the 40 spider robots used their sharp legs to strike their targets. Those that succeeded in their sneak attacks moved on to find new targets, while those that failed immediately self-destructed. This single wave of attacks wiped out half of Ozunu's assassins.

As the transport planes flew away and the explosions died down, the ground forces surrounding the base began picking off the assassins who were fleeing the buildings. Any suspicious areas were met with a barrage of rocket fire, and those equipped with grenade launchers joined in, firing grenades.

Watching from their hiding spot, Black and White Ghosts were stunned. "FK, this is a massacre," Black Ghost muttered.

"Attention, attention, spider robots have found a hidden tunnel. They are entering to investigate," Sunday's voice snapped them out of their shock. They immediately followed Sunday's directions toward the rear mountain of Ozunu's base.

Meanwhile, the Black Blade drones flew ahead to scout. A few minutes later, the spider robots emerged from the tunnel exit and jumped back into their launchers, while the drones began to search the area.

After a few minutes, they spotted six black-clad assassins fleeing at high speed. The drones tracked them to the coast, and as the six exhausted assassins paused to rest, the drones opened fire. Six muffled gunshots rang out.

The six assassins, caught off guard, instinctively moved after hearing the shots, but three of them failed to dodge completely and were hit in various parts of their bodies.

The remaining spider robots were then dropped from the air by their launchers, and as soon as they hit the ground, they scurried toward the shaken assassins.

A series of explosions followed, and even if the assassins weren't dead, they were all seriously injured, mostly in the legs. When Black and White Ghosts arrived on the scene, they couldn't help but wonder how they would fare in such a situation.

But White Ghost didn't linger on these thoughts for long. He quickly threw darts at the injured assassins, deciding to kill them before reflecting any further.

The six darts struck, killing four of the assassins instantly. The remaining two deflected the darts with their blades. Ozunu's leader quickly shouted, "Wait! We can talk!"

But Black Ghost didn't hold back, joining White Ghost in hurling dart after dart.

The two remaining assassins, seeing that Black and White Ghosts had no intention of negotiating, retaliated by throwing their own darts. But Black and White Ghosts only dodged those aimed at their heads, completely ignoring the ones targeting their bodies. Their reckless attacks soon paid off, as the two assassins, already hampered by their leg injuries, couldn't dodge the third wave of darts and were struck, collapsing to the ground.

"Who... are you?" Ozunu's leader, now barely alive, looked at Black and White Ghosts in confusion, staring at their outfits.

Black Ghost walked over, pulled off his hood, and drew the knife from his back. In the leader's terrified gaze, he swung the blade down, finishing him off.
