"Now you see how rich your brother is," William laughed.
Chen Feng nodded vigorously, smiling ingratiatingly, but William's next words made his face fall.
"Don't worry, I guarantee I won't give you a single cent. Last year around this time, I was struggling with my college tuition. You're still a kid; what do you need money for? Of course, I'll cover your education and training expenses, but if you want pocket money, you'll have to earn it yourself."
"But I'm only 12! How am I supposed to make money?" Chen Feng protested.
"It's simple: every time you score full marks, I'll grant you one reasonable wish. Listen carefully—reasonable wish."
"And what's considered reasonable?"
"What I think is reasonable," William said with a grin.
"That's not fair! What if you just refuse to agree?"
"Sorry, not 'what if'—when I don't like you, I absolutely won't agree. So, hurry up and grow up. Once you're older, you can earn your own money."
"Alright, that's enough for today. Since it's our first meeting, I'll give you a gift," William said as a projection of three young horses appeared. "These are three one-year-old purebred Akhal-Teke foals. Pick one, and it's yours."
"Are these all Pegasi?" Chen Feng looked at the foals following their mother in the projection and pouted. "I don't want them. They're too small to ride."
"No problem. Besides my Red Hare, my mother's black horse and this golden Sunshine are also available for you to try. But if you can't tame them, you'll have to settle for a foal."
"Don't worry, when I visit you, I'll definitely tame the one I want," Chen Feng said confidently, patting his chest.
"Great, I'll be waiting. Goodbye, everyone." As soon as the call ended, the helmet on the living room floor began to smoke. Yin Yang rolled his eyes and quickly explained to the shocked Chen Feng and Qin Hanhua, "No worries, this is normal. The boss does this for security reasons. The technology inside the helmet is highly advanced, so destroying it afterward is standard procedure. It's probably worth millions in yuan."
"What? Millions?" Qin Hanhua clutched her chest, feeling faint. "That much money could buy a house! And now it's just gone? Oh my, how wasteful is this relative I've never even met?"
"Enough! He wouldn't even acknowledge you as a relative," Grandma Qin said crossly, blaming William for setting a bad example for Chen Feng. "Didn't you hear him earlier? He said 'Goodbye, everyone,' as if we're strangers. The only person he cares about here is Little Feng."
Grandpa Qin tried to console her. "Alright, if he acknowledges Little Feng, that's enough for the Chen family. You can't expect someone he's never met, with no emotional connection, to immediately start calling you Grandma. Besides, he's a foreigner."
"True, true. At least he found Little Feng, covers his tuition and training costs—he's acting like an older brother should. By the way, Hanhua, do you know which is the best private school in Shanghai?"
"Mom, how would I know? I never attended one," Qin Hanhua replied weakly, still dazed from the sudden revelation of a rich relative. Her dreams of living large had been crushed before they even began, leaving her with no energy to worry about schools.
Brother Jie, noticing Grandma Qin's gaze on him, quickly responded, "Sorry, Aunt Qin, I don't know about schools either. I've been abroad for many years and don't know much about the domestic situation."
"Fine, I'll ask around myself once we get the household registration book. If the school isn't good enough, I won't agree."
Less than an hour later, around forty minutes in, Brother Jie received a report and informed the Qin family, "Mr. Qin, the household registration book has been issued."
A few minutes later, Brother Jie took the household registration book from one of his subordinates and handed it to Grandpa Qin.
Taking the book, Grandpa Qin was stunned. "Good heavens, it's really done? And at ten at night!" He flipped it open, surprised to see Chen Feng's registered address was at the Chen family's ancestral home. "This... this 260-square-meter courtyard house was sold over ten years ago!"
"That's right, Mr. Qin. My boss bought back the ancestral home, and a 60-square-meter section has been registered under Little Feng's name," Brother Jie explained.
"Alright, I now believe Little Feng's brother is truly capable. To be able to just buy such a property from the government offices like that—please pass on my thanks to him," Grandpa and Grandma Qin both sighed in amazement.
After personally escorting the Qin family and Chen Feng back home, Yin Yang immediately flew to Thailand on William's orders to prepare for his arrival.
Now that William had taken a liking to Chen Feng, he became more motivated. He had promised to send the entire Eight-Faced Buddha gang to their doom within three days, and he wasn't about to take four. Not only Yin Yang, but the rest of the suicide squad also took a plane to Thailand.
Meanwhile, William entered the basement of his castle. "Is my Mark III suit ready?"
"It's all set, sir. We can begin testing anytime. But from a safety perspective, I don't recommend you personally wear the suit during the test."
"Don't worry, I have ways to save myself. Even if something goes wrong, I can always open a portal and jump into the ocean," William said excitedly as he stood on a platform with his family crest. "Let's get started; I can't wait any longer."
"Understood, sir."
A mechanical sound followed as the floor William was standing on sank slightly. Two mechanical arms holding the suit extended out.
After a series of clicks and the sound of screws tightening, the Mark III Iron Man suit was fully assembled.
"Sunday, connect to the network," William commanded.
"Network connection complete."
"Input all preset programs."
William watched with delight as various data flashed across the helmet display. He raised his arm, admiring the metallic gleam of the fully enclosed suit. "Oh, wow," he said excitedly. "Sunday, have the programs finished uploading? I can't wait!"
"Yes, sir. Programs have been installed. Beginning virtual flight test, setting safety protocols and priorities, and checking armor operating conditions."
Clicking sounds followed as the suit's internal system ran checks on each component.
"Sir, diagnostics complete. All armor components are functioning perfectly. The autopilot system is flawless. You are cleared for a test flight."
"Excellent, very good," William said, eagerly giving the command. "Initiate launch."
With a loud "boom," blue light shot out from the suit's feet and hands, and the Mark III suit hovered shakily in midair.
"Oh my!" William shouted with joy, watching the ceiling get smaller as he rose. "I can fly!"
After about ten minutes of flying around the basement, William finally gained full control over the suit.
Landing on the ground, he ordered, "Begin data analysis and system diagnostics."
"Understood, sir." After a few seconds, Sunday reported, "Sir, everything is functioning normally."
"Good. Now check the weather conditions and flight control. Monitor ground control signals."
"Sir, I strongly advise against this reckless action. We still have a lot of data to analyze. You're playing with your life here."
"Stop right there, Sunday. Sometimes, we need a bit of adventure. Are you ready? Haha, three... two... one... let's take to the sky!"
