"I must admit, when it comes to qi manipulation, this era far surpasses the Qin Dynasty," Daniel thought, observing the Old Heavenly Master Zhang Zhiwei skillfully manipulate his Golden Light Mantra, forming dozens of golden whips. He couldn't help but marvel.
While the top experts of both One Person Under Heaven and The Qin's Moon worlds were comparable in their mastery of energy, the disparity between them became more evident when comparing the average practitioners. This wasn't because The Qin's Moon world was inherently inferior, but because their focuses differed. In the modern era of One Person Under Heaven, the manipulation and evolution of qi had developed over 2,000 years, whereas in the Qin Dynasty, the era of hundred schools of thought was primarily driven by philosophical debates, with less emphasis on advanced energy manipulation.
Moreover, while The Qin's Moon world acknowledged the existence of divine figures like the Nine Heavens Goddess, the actual occurrence of a God-sealing War remained unconfirmed, even to Daniel. In contrast, the world of One Person Under Heaven had indeed experienced a God-sealing War, albeit very different from the mythological God-sealing stories. Here, it referred to a massive conflict among extraordinary beings, whose powers were so vast they were likened to gods.
In this age, the Feathered Transformation Realm was virtually extinct. Yet, in the age of the God-sealing War, the realm was not only common, but there were beings who even surpassed it, giving rise to the term God-sealing.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Facing the Old Heavenly Master's golden whips, Daniel summoned his black qi, which transformed into a ferocious black dragon. Hun Xi Long You, the top heart technique from the Yin-Yang School, could shape qi into various life forms. For example, Dongjun Yanfei's Three-legged Golden Crow could not only fight but also act as her eyes. In the Yin-Yang School, Hun Xi Long You was ranked even higher than the techniques of Luna and Star Soul.
The black dragon clashed repeatedly with the golden whips, their battle wreaking havoc on the surrounding landscape. Rocks crumbled, trees shattered. Fortunately, they were deep within the mountains; had this taken place in the front of the mountain, the tourism department would undoubtedly have intervened.
"Though I can't match your finesse in manipulating qi, when it comes to sheer quantity, I fear no one," Daniel mused during the intense battle. He knew his control of qi was somewhat crude, wasting much in the process. But for him, this was not a significant disadvantage, especially with the vast reserves of qi he had built up.
The amount of qi one could store was linked to their physical strength. Given Daniel's body far surpassed most others in this world, his qi reserves were naturally abundant. His meridian system was also incredibly sturdy, allowing him to hold far more qi than most, even more than the Old Heavenly Master.
A frail body simply couldn't store large amounts of qi. For example, many never suspected that Tian Yan harbored great power because her fragile and sickly appearance had convinced people otherwise.
During his fight with the Old Heavenly Master, Daniel refrained from using his more advanced techniques like martial arts and Nen abilities, choosing instead to rely solely on his vast qi reserves.
"Boom!"
After a prolonged standoff, the Old Heavenly Master was the first to change tactics, switching from the Golden Light Mantra to the Thunder Method. In an instant, a bolt of lightning, roughly a meter wide, materialized in the sky and struck Daniel directly.
The lightning crashed into Daniel's protective qi, scattering into a web of smaller electric arcs. Despite his immense physical resilience, Daniel couldn't help but feel the paralyzing effects of the strike.
"That's quite the impressive power. I suppose it's true what they say about the Old Heavenly Master maintaining his purity," Daniel thought, watching the Old Heavenly Master bathed in white lightning.
In the One Person Under Heaven world, the Golden Light Mantra was often associated with the Old Heavenly Master, but the Thunder Method—specifically the Yang Five Thunders—was the true hallmark of his strength. Both the Yang and Yin Five Thunders were famous techniques, but the Yang Five Thunders was especially revered, becoming nearly synonymous with Longhu Mountain.
The power of the Thunder Method was immense. A comparison could be drawn to Killua's Nen ability, which manipulated electricity. However, Killua needed to absorb electricity from external sources, whereas the Old Heavenly Master converted his own qi into lightning. The magnitude of this feat was unmatched by anything from the Qin Dynasty's world, where even Yin-Yang techniques couldn't produce lightning.
Having maintained his purity for over a century, the Old Heavenly Master's mastery of the Yang Five Thunders was unparalleled.
Daniel couldn't help but feel a bit dismayed. Even if he attempted to learn Longhu Mountain's Thunder Method, he could only master the Yin Five Thunders, never the Yang version. The purity requirement was strict—complete abstinence was necessary, not even allowing for self-gratification.
This was why most martial sects only took in children as disciples. By the time adults entered, it was often too late to master such advanced techniques.
Of the Old Heavenly Master's ten disciples, Zhang Lingyu was the most likely to succeed him as head of Longhu Mountain. Unfortunately, Zhang Lingyu's fate was sealed when he lost his purity, barring him from fully mastering the Yang Five Thunders. His eventual mastery of the Yin Five Thunders left him with a sense of deep disappointment.
Boom!
As Daniel's thoughts lingered on this, the Old Heavenly Master launched another powerful lightning strike. This time, Daniel quickly formed an ice shield above his head, blocking the attack. The clash between ice and lightning sent shockwaves across the battlefield.
"Since the Old Heavenly Master is enjoying himself, I'll indulge him for now," Daniel muttered, raising his hand to summon two ice spears. Without warning, he launched them at the Old Heavenly Master with blinding speed.
"Ice, huh?" The Old Heavenly Master quickly countered with two bolts of lightning, shattering the ice spears on impact. The two continued exchanging attacks, with Daniel summoning more ice weapons while the Old Heavenly Master wielded his lightning like a master conductor.
The intensity of the battle forced Zhang Lingyu and Lu Jin to retreat even farther to avoid being caught in the crossfire. Zhang Lingyu, however, remained downcast. Watching the Old Heavenly Master's mastery of the Yang Five Thunders only deepened his sense of loss, knowing he could never fully inherit the technique.
Rumors had already spread throughout the extraordinary world, with many speculating who had been the first to steal Zhang Lingyu's purity. Though he remained tight-lipped about the affair, many suspected Xia He, a member of All-Truth. It was the logical conclusion; Zhang Lingyu had always been disciplined, but after an encounter with Xia He, everything changed.
Boom!
As Daniel continued to clash with the Old Heavenly Master, he couldn't help but chuckle internally. "In a world focused on martial arts, you're practically playing at being an immortal cultivator," he thought.
No ordinary martial artist could have withstood the Old Heavenly Master's relentless barrage of lightning. But despite the Old Heavenly Master's best efforts, Daniel remained standing, seemingly unscathed.
For the Old Heavenly Master, the most shocking part was that his full power wasn't enough to bring down this opponent. "Who exactly is this man?" he wondered.
"That's insane!" Zhang Chulan, who had arrived late to the scene, stood in awe of the battle, completely overwhelmed by the scale of destruction.
"Soon, there will be too many spectators. I should wrap this up." Sensing more people approaching through his heightened perception, Daniel decided it was time to end the battle. He summoned a massive ice wall, buying himself enough time to disappear into the distance before the Old Heavenly Master could react.
As the ice wall shattered under the Old Heavenly Master's lightning, Daniel was already gone.
The Old Heavenly Master slowly retracted his lightning, his expression serene as he addressed the approaching Lu Jin and Zhang Lingyu. "Let's go back."
"I don't even know who that was," the Old Heavenly Master said when asked by Lu Jin about his opponent.
Meanwhile, Daniel quietly returned to his room via a secret portal, blending back into the crowd unnoticed. The excitement from the battle still buzzed in the air as people speculated about the mysterious intruder who had forced the Old Heavenly Master to reveal his full power.
"Chulan, what happened?" Xu San asked Zhang Chulan after he returned.
Zhang Chulan relayed what he had witnessed, leaving Xu San and Xu Si deep in thought. The emergence of such a powerful stranger had unsettled many, and the Company would need to investigate further.
Later that evening, the chaos subsided. Most of the spectators remained unaware of the true nature of the earlier battle. They only knew that the Old Heavenly Master had fought someone, and the details were shrouded in mystery.
The next day, the Luo Tian Dajiao continued with the individual matches. With the competition growing fiercer, the audience's excitement reached new heights. The combatants were no longer amateurs; each match showcased increasingly skilled and powerful fighters.
As expected, Zhang Chulan faced relentless boos and jeers from the audience, who still hadn
't forgiven him for his antics. However, their hopes of seeing him defeated were quickly dashed when his opponent failed to show up, granting Zhang Chulan an easy victory by default.
Despite the accusations of foul play from the crowd, Zhang Chulan brushed off the criticism, even throwing in a mocking pose as he left the stage, inciting further outrage.
