Li Pan, wearing a brocade coat stripped from a dead man, stood on the willow treetop. As he gazed beyond the wall, he could see a shimmering, crystal-clear lake. In the middle of the lake, pavilions and towers with red walls and golden roofs could be vaguely seen, resembling a celestial abode.
The lakeshore, however, was connected to an embankment, enclosed by a circle of walls, leaving none of this splendid view for the commoners outside to admire. Automatic machine gun emplacements and barbed wire had been set up to strictly prevent anyone from climbing over.
Although Li Pan could disguise himself in the Brocade-clad Guards' uniforms and use his Bone Shrinking Skill to sneak into the city, he was not authorized to enter through this wall. A single misstep could get him shot on sight.
